- A video from Peter showing Judith finally repaired, it was touch and go for a while and that's why this update took so long, sorry there's no footage of the final repairs i think by the end of the last one he'd had enough and just cracked on!
UPDATE SINCE FILMING THE ROVER FAILED THE MOT!
Peter now has some tough choices to make!
CARS, TRAINS & ANYTHING I WANT!
Hi, I'm Rick (tall big ears) & sometimes I'm assisted by Lee (short wonky eye)
From late 2023 onwards the channel will need to diversify to survive, I find myself less able to commit to cars alone on here and more interested in general life experiences, so on the channel you may also see what I get up to in my life, or just see me chatting nonsense.
Be assured I'll always make the title and thumbnail appropriate to the video so if you're only here for the cars or trains you can ignore the rest. I currently own and run 2 older cars, AGATHA is a 1978 Austin Allegro 1300 Super & FIONA a 2003 Ford Focus TDCI. I do use a modern car too which is occasionally featured (It's a Kia) and a van (Fiat) The van can be found on it’s own channel “Rick and Heather Campervanners”
Lee's cars also make occasional appearances as do a few friends cars.
Feel free to leave a comment on any video I try to respond to all of them! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
So next week will be the MOT work done. I'm kind of fustrated that some small holes were picked up dispite the additional welding I had done, but I dont have a four post lift to look underneith. I'm confident that the tiny weld patches will be a qucik easy reapir. Should be one of the cleanst 45's on the road when I've finished 😀 Thank you Rik for posting
Thanks Peter.
I’ve pinned this post for people to see.
Since filming Judith FAILED the mot on lots of welding…. Peter is persistent in his plan to save the car and assures me it will be done…. I definitely dodged a bullet getting rid of the car!
I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks for the update on Judith Rick, hopefully Peter can still save Judith and the car finds a new home that will comtinue to her like yourself and Peter did.
thanks for update rick
I’m just glad to get a little bit of content 😂
Well done Peter, good job. Good luck Judith.
Happy new Year all.
Failed the mot!
@@AgathaAndAnything I'm sure Peter will get it sorted.
Thanks for the update Ricky, good to hear her running again and seemingly ready to go back on the road again, she was worth saving I think as she was an early mk2 45 which there are less of nowdays, more of the later “Project drive” cars, still a bit puzzled on that ticking sound from the engine though, but at least she’s running ok now.
Let’s hope she passes the MOT and finds a new owner.
Failed dismally 😢
@@AgathaAndAnything Failed on welding to the front suspension mount areas both sides, and a front to back brake pipe.
I can understand Pete being determined to get her repaired he’s spend so much time and money getting the engine sorted plus overall she’s in good condition, she’s probably in better condition at least cosmetically than my 45(Ralph) so I wish him well.
So there he was polishing away and then got a kick in the balls when it failed... hard to spot some rust when you're lying on the driveway😢
Have seen the prospective new owners comment. Buying old cars can be tricky, either deluded buyers or sellers or both mean you've got to have you're eyes open. There's excitement in getting a new car and i don't know anyone who hasn't bought a car that's been unwise to buy. Im fiat mad and have bought some that others wouldn't, but i have the knowledge of these cars and tinkering on them is a hobby. Never had a rover but you've also got to be handy with a welder or you'll go broke quickly 😊
Thank Peter for his video, was interesting to see the progress. Bloody weather is awful and I'm not tinkering in it unless absolutely necessary 😊
We’ve all been burnt by cars and girls…. If it’s got tits or tyres it’s gonna cost you!
It's a shame about the mot fail, I have a rover 45, from new, it's a mk1, it's done 38,000, from new, bought it in 2000, no rust it's never failed an mot, think I will hang on to it, as these are getting scarce now
Definitely keep it!
If that was mine then I think I would be spraying the underneath with old engine oil after the welding was completed. Cheers K.
Yeah it needs something
Keep us all posted on the progress. If it’s shown on here, then maybe someone from your subscribers will want her.
Will do!
Sounds like something is blowing, exhaust manifold?
Yes I believe so
Yeah it's a shame that it fell through for me but i don't like dishonesty so i had to walk. This is the problem when you part own a car with someone and you don't talk to them about deals agreed. I spent well over £200 on add on bits for judith once a deal was agreed. only to be then told the other party wanted double what was initially agreed at which point i had to walk. Was looking forward to owning this car and was literally 5 days away from owning it.
I think it's only fair people know 'the politics'. Just as another heads up as well, anyone whom does buy this car needs to be aware that by the owners own admission, the car will need more welding in 12 months or so.
It needs welding now, it failed the mot so you probably dodged a bullet. I don’t want to fall out with you or Peter but please let’s not discuss here what exactly happened. 👍
