can you please share the reason for not taping the part near the front camera as it may cause the water may enter from there or any humidity ?

Joe, thanks a lot for this great video. with your instructions i was able to replace my g8x display without any problems. i am happy that it is now like new again. your reassuring assistance throughout this fiddly process kept me calm.

one small thing as a supplement:
on the back of the new display, there is sometimes a small black adhesive strip for protection above the round window for the fingerprint sensor. this must be removed beforehand, otherwise the fingerprint scanner will not work.

It’s always better to remove the battery. Especially if you’re using any metal tools.
does it require a phone format? I am concerned about the backup. I have very important data in my phone which I don't want to get erased.

Thanks for this tutorial btw..I broke my screen on christmas day paid 180 to fix it then a couple weeks later broke it again..being that I have dual screen version of this phone, they unfortunately dont have any protective cases on the market only the one it comes with

Just finished my screen replacement this evening. Your video was very detailed and extremely helpful. Unfortunately, my new screen is showing a deep blue/black circle in the bottom right corner and the bottom half of the screen has a blue tinge to it. Also, the biometric sensor isn’t picking up my fingerprint (it does give me haptic feedback when I try to set a print). This was not present in the initial test of the new screen (before re-assembly). Any thoughts?
As long as you didn’t damage it during install, then it sounds like the screen connection isn’t seated all the way. It doesn’t sound like damage.
@@JoeDoesStuff unfortunately I damaged the internal bezel just enough to warp the screen. Within an hour the whole screen was black and the phone e is now useless. :(

No it won't work. In the link it says lcd and lcd screens aren't transparent for the finger print light to pass through it. Original display is available in LG service centre only.
Hi sir is it posible to remove the glass only without open up screen panel by using 0.6 wire+heating to slice the glass from lcd panel?
Is it possible yes? Yes. Do I recommend it? Nope. 9/10 you will ruin the lcd along with it. It’s usually cheaper and faster to replace the whole screen assembly.

It is the same screen. You would have to be extremely careful to get it apart without cracking it. But the dual display case is more than the screen replacement.
Actually my LG G8x front screen was broken and it's display is not working. How can I use the mobile with its detached screen?
When I connected dual screen to it the secondary screen is just displaying and not able to open the apps unless I unlock the screen lock in main screen.
Unfortunately there isn't a way since you have to turn on the second screen with the first...
help! phone wont turn on after reinstalling the battery. if i plug the charger in, the battery percentage will come on but after about 20 secs it goes off...pressing and holding the power button will not work
Did you disconnect the power button?

Possibly. You have to activate the case screen from the main screen tho.

You can but most likely you will break the 2nd screen trying to remove it from the case.
I didnt realize there was a thin bezel between the screen and the frame.. And my bezel came up with my screen.. I cant find the bezel online so i think im screwed..
I couldn’t find just the bezel. But here’s a link (not affiliate) to the screen with the frame. It’s only a few more dollars.

Can I put the dual screens screen in the mail phone?
No...not possible...it wont fir and it also doesn't have selfie camera cutout plus little bit bigger in size than screen on the phone

The case screen? It's the same screen as the phone.
