    So they don’t have Wi-Fi in many places? Thanks very much. Really appreciated the information.

    • @ExploringSumatra
      @ExploringSumatra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Really depends on where you are going. Throughout Medan city and larger cities and towns it's readily available. In Tuk Tuk, Lake Toba, it's everywhere. In Bukit Lawang, most places have it, although it comes and goes. Other spots it's more hit and miss. You could probably get by without it if you're sticking to the main tourist spots, but we like to always have data for those in between travel parts just in case! ☺

    Selemat Pagi & terima kasih info beautiful airport Medan. Sitting here 32• Kira-kira tax telephone? How do you get a Wi-Fi connection without sim card? Stay cool.

    • @ExploringSumatra
      @ExploringSumatra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Liz and Cookie! The tax is complicated. If your phone is worth more than $500 USD, they subtract the $500 then tax the remaining worth at 40 percent. Can get expensive if you have newer phones! But you can get WiFi even without a SIM. :)

    Regarding the sim card, are there not GraPARI stores on the airport?

    Hi Carly. Please tell me how u obtain ur sunscreen and did u get it in KL or Medan? Mahal palau hari ini? Is it a mineral sunscreen? Terima kasih. Is there a limit to weight, 3oz?

    • @ExploringSumatra
      @ExploringSumatra  Před 23 dny

      Hi Liz! I usually buy sunscreen from one of the online shops in Indonesia as it's cheaper than buying local. They do sell it in many places locally, but the price is quite outrageous! I'm not sure of the weight limit for flights - but I think for checked baggage you can bring quite a large bottle in, as I've had friends do that before :) Hope you're well! We miss making videos but will be back very soon!

      We just buy whatever is cheapest haha. Bit hard as a tourist to buy on the online platforms as the payment methods are usually only with local banks etc I believe. Ooo gosh - I hope it's cooled down a little bit so you and Cookie aren't melting!

    I’m from the United States. I have found that airports internationally while they are very beautiful are too too big! It involves so much walking when all you want to do is just get to the train or get to the rental car or get to the hotel. I hate having a walk-through a bloody mall to get to where I need to go.such a hassle

    • @ExploringSumatra
      @ExploringSumatra  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Totally understand where you're coming from! Kuala Lumpur Airport is like that - you have to walk for miles just to get from your gate to arrivals, or vice versa! It's exhausting. Kualanamu in Medan is nice and simple. 😀
