- In this video I demonstrate the Mellotron introduction of "Watcher Of The Skies" by Genesis adapted for the Guitar. I go through the voicings step by step and some options for interpretation and performance. This is the first part of a two part video which will include the whole Tony Banks introduction.
I studied ten years with the great Jazz Teacher/Composer Dennis Sandole who taught John Coltrane, James Moody, Jim Hall, Pat Martino, and many others and I have played and recorded with musicians as Bassists Michael Manring and Percy Jones, Producers Neil Kernon and David Torn. Keyboardist Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater played on two tunes of my 2001 disc "Addition By Subtraction" as well.
Thanks for this!. Always felt this intros was stunning. One of my all time favourites.
Thank you David for the kind words and always one of my favs as well. Keep in touch!!!!!
TY!!
I purchased a Mel9 today and this is the first song I'm going to play with it.
Excellent!! Love that pedal
This man is one of the finest guitarists in the world and most people have never heard of him. Prog rock band Overworld Dreams released their debut CD, and Scott plays an amazing solo in a song called Voyage to Castilia. Heard the song on 102.3 Harborough. I hope he plays as a guest player again with them.
Thank you Major Synth--very kind of you!!!
