    What you didn't mention is that when Gary Lineker was suspened by the BBC, it caused a complete walk out of his fellow pundits, commentators, reporters and the Professional Footballers Association told its members not to speak to anyone from the BBC until Lineker was reinstated. Even the pundits and presenters who were not assigned that weekend refused to appear as well, causing an issue that might have gone away quietly into an even bigger news story and an own goal for the Boris Johnson appointed people who suspened Gary Lineker in the first place.

      It made the BBC's coverage of the Saturday Football awkward. They had a women's football match Live on Sunday that they cut to as the two teams were walking out with a world feed commentator. MOTD was just Team sheets and sound no graphics telling you how many goals that guy scored. No final score, no football programing on the radio the usual 5 Live Commentators brought commentary and obviously acknowledged what was happening. But I don't think they spoke to any manager after. The Women's show had it's usual titles and brought you world feed commentary of the games that maybe a junior editor had thrown together. MOTD didn't even have that it was basically The Junior Editor cutting the footage adding the graphics team sheets score board and leaving it and maybe the little Referee, Time And Goal and second half indent Graphics. They pretty much fucked it especially as on MOTD Leicester City fans sang about Gary Lineker and I believe a camera cut to him. So it showed most football fans backed him. Politics and football shouldn't go together but the fact he was a freelancer and who owns a production company which runs a Politics show. Was silly the fact the BBC then brought His Political beliefs into affecting Football pissed all of us Football fans off

    I had a pair of Docs that I bought in 1994 when I was 15. They lasted until I was 22. The only thing that ruined them was the salt on the roads that we use in the winter in Canada. Never got a blister and there was very little breaking in needed.
    Fast forward to now where, in three years, I’ve worn through two different pairs. Different styles but different problems. The first pair were work boots that lost their nonslip ability in four months. The second pair were eight holes that had the leather crack open about six months in. They are my dream shoe but so bloody expensive for something that won’t even last. Not only that but the blisters were horrendous

    I can remember Tesco’s comeback from the horse meat scandal. Their advertising campaign at the time was from Wieden & Kennedy and involved a lot of images on white background (or stock footage relevant to the advert) and fitting music. In the case for the horse meat scandal comeback it involved an advert with an image of a roast chicken on a white background, footage of someone grilling steaks on a barbecue and an image of a roast pork joint with crackling and a pledge at the end sourcing all meat and poultry solely from British and Irish farms. The music used was the hymn I Vow To Thee, My Country

      It is still hugely problematic because HMG has done absolutely NOTHING to mandate nationwide broadband. In a country that is probably one of THE easiest to provide broadband for (the geography of the UK is insanely easy to do so), that should be a cause for national shame.
      FFS Spain has double the land area, 2/3rds the population and is incredibly mountainous, has had mandated fibreoptic provision since the and of last year. If your ISP refuses to provide you with a fibreoptic connection, the government will take them to court. My sister lives less than 50km outside Norwich but has NO internet access.

And now actual Kraft operates as a trading name of either new sister company Heinz-Watties or I think Mondelez. BT going to digital phone lines is not by choice, its a regulation by ofcom that says all providers have to, originally it was meant to be by 2024 but this has been pushed back I think until 2026 now. The reason is a lot more depressing than you think. The main big reason is because sadly a few people have passed away because their Tunstall didnt work on the new digital system and was never tested when converted over. So I don't think BT "destroyed their reputation" but following a regulation nor have all the other providers.

    , to have real,genuine chocolate it has to have at least 85% chocolate solids in it ,so Is white chocolate really chocolate when it rarely contains any chocolate solids 🤔🍫

    The problems start when we get Americans involved in our business. I am so fed up of the UK getting Americanised year after year. From terrible US advertising to the increased use of Americanisms. I know it might not be everyone’s opinion, but the use of US English is particularly annoying. Many of our young people adopting it in the UK not knowing any difference. I particularly can’t stand adverts for Grammarly! Also, too many Indian call centres scamming us and stealing our Bank details and abusing vulnerable adults (all in the name of profits). No wonder these companies are making profits. American adverts and companies for the US (absolutely), is American investment good for the UK? I think so as long as the routes of a British brand is not forgotten. You can’t replace iconic American buildings with Big Ben! (So why the other way round?).

    Since when has horsemeat become illegal in Europe? Europe was one of the biggest importers of American horsemeat next to Mexico (which is where most of our wild mustangs and other horses in kill pens wind up). Slaughter houses here in America are still slaughtering horses. You Brits might also want to check your pet food for horsemeat too.

    • @agneskirsch8335
      @agneskirsch8335 Před 13 dny +2

      The problem was mainly that the horsemeat was not fit for human consumption. Most of Europe doesn't have the taboo about horsemeat. In fact in Austria where I live there are meat Produkts that are rare and delicious (Pferdeleberkäse) made from Horsemeat.

      The problem for me, speaking as a Brit, was that we weren’t informed that it was horse meat. I personally don’t have any issue with trying it as long as I know it’s what I am eating. It’s like when they were selling vegetarian products that contained traces of meat.
