Murder Island could have worked in a Hunted-style way with more competent contestants…
Being 4 years old at the time, Hole In The Wall was elite television and that's a hill I'll die on
Hole In The Wall is getting a reboot.
Wasn't Hole In the Wall a 80's show that got rebooted by Anton De Twat? If it's getting rebooted again, I PRAY HE ISN'T HOSTING AGAIN!
I used to love hole in the wall, and as I was watching this I thought it's exactly the type of show they'd try to do a remake of but goodness me I hope they don't.
As it should
Hole in The Wall was actually a kid show here in the US on Nickelodeon for 4 or 5 seasons; some of my nieces and nephews use to watch it when they were younger, it was not a bad or good show just kind of meh
@@Huh_What_Who what did anton du beke do?
Golden Balls was successful certainly not a failure, neither was Changing Rooms.
I remember watching both and enjoying them
Goldenballs had someone break the format...
Changing Rooms was cancelled after the Josef Fritzel episode.
I watched both these changing rooms is a classic I know loads people who watched it
“There’s something about Miriam” should also be on this list too.
Hold on the wall was epic and Golden balls should be brought back for sure
Something that often annoys me regarding Golden balls is that it's often cited as the Modern Prisoner's dilemma, but the fact that someone choosing steal means that the other gets zero pounds no matter what they do.
The original dilemma discusses the fact that no matter what you do the best choice is to betray your partner, should someone pick steal in Golden Balls however, and there's literally nothing you can do.
The premise is the same on the traitors. I've never liked it, the risk of looking like a mug is too high so people steal as a defence mechanism.
Oh, Golden Balls was great! If it ever comes up in conversation, I still ask 'one word answer, split or steal?' Bring back please...
Golden balls was great
I LOVED Rise and Fall… gutted it’s not coming back!
Golden Balls was a game show - not a 'reality' show
Hole in the wall was a sick tv show big up anton bro great host
I watched Hole In Wall, I actually found it rather funny😂 especially when they fell in the pool.
I hope they did something for the lady who lost her antique pots. Obviously you can't really replace antiques or the time spent gathering them. But why would you rely on such a design to hold something that heavy & valuable. In prioritizing aesthetics, they ruined everything. a freestanding display would have been better. I don't know the backstory because I don't live in the UK, but I know for myself, I use a bookcase to display my valuables.
Splash is such a nostalgic show for me. I was 5 and I didn’t realise how pointless it was. But I loved it and always will
#10 reminds me of an American show called Friend or Foe hosted by ugh, Kennedy.
I get a BBC gameshows channel through Roku (Plex) and it has something called 71 Degrees North that seems just like the Freeze the Fear, but there are different presenters (Paddy McGuinness instead of Lee Mack & a female presenter I don't know).
I was waiting to see There's Something About Miriam on here, especially after the guys were trying to sue the producers of the show and what happened to Miriam later on.
America tried Hole in the Wall and Splash, as well with limited success.
I have heard of some of them, never watched any and now I know why.
I feel like TopGear (2016-) failed as well.
"Kings of Comedy" was little known, but I'd love to see it rebooted.
They had half a dozen old school stand ups, including Mick Miller and Stan Boardman, and six up and coming new comedians.
Had them live in a house together, and each night, do a set according to a set of different rules.
Was genuinely interesting if you had any interest in comedy, and turns out the generations had more in common than divided them.
Jasper Carrott was the perfect bald ginger round headed host for Golden Balls.
As someone who grew up on some of these, i disagree on this list but i assume it’s just based on how long it lasted
Goldenballs was a quality programme
I enjoyed rise and fall no traitors but was good for what it was
I miss golden balls
Me too, I loved it.
The best thing about Splash was the hosts jumping in the pool at the end of each series!
Golden balls wasn’t confusing and people should be embarrassed if it confused them. I watched that as a 16 year old and it made perfect sense 🤭🤣
Golden Balls a failed reality tv show?? Are you absolutely crazy?!? One of the best shows there was at the time
IF ONLY TOWIE and Scum Island were on this list.
10: i like golden balls it was a great show, its about Bluff your way to cash. And avoid killers.
I loved the show, so gutted its long gone.
Nah hole in the wall was goated. I had no idea it was only 20 episodes
5:39 Seems like a weird dig at Luton.
Arrrgghh I loved Golden Balls.... 😢
I remember when I was 8/9 I somehow found hole in the wall and interesting/ fun watch
Vapid and shallow is reality TV's norm, but damn, some of these are just downright dangerous!
You forgot the WORST reality TV show ever - Celebrity Wrestling. As a wrestling fan I remember being so excited at the idea of it. Then it was just a really bad version of Gladiators 🙈🤣.
There's a great event at Edinburgh Fringe, 'the wrestling' which has UK wrestlers and comedians team up to go at each other.
Greg Davies in lycra is a sight to behold!
@@keithpanton that sounds awesome!
7:45 That show might one day make a comeback.... just saying.
Yes bring Changing Rooms back pleaaaaaase 😊😊
Number 8: this was a precurser from bbc the murder game.
An American show called Murder in Small Town X was the predecessor of The Murder Game and Murder Island. Would love to see this format back in the states.
Changing rooms and golden balls were classic TV
I liked watching them
Hole in the wall was good. But when dale winton was hosting. Possibly non celebrity show
Hole in the Wall is coming back, so it can’t have flopped that badly. It’s the only one on this list that I actually enjoyed.
A world without laws. I think is their best off Beatles song thank you Paul.
Another w video what more can I say .
Joel in the wall was an actual good show, golden balls was ok but still brutal
Me and my sister loved hole in the wall always made us laugh
only show i want back is distraction(host: jimmy carr)
Murder Island sounds pretty close to Murder In Small Town X
I think they actually did a version of Murder In Small Town X too. The winner was always picked for elimination and I think he was always stuck with whichever destination was left over by the person who made the choice. The US version had someone like that (Kristin, who appeared on The Apprentice later), but she didn't dodge death nearly as many times.
It also feels like an attempt to emulate the (modest but consistent) success of Hunted, which also featured pairs of civilians interacting with professional intelligence teams…
I used to have a bit of a crush on Linda Barker back in the day, hence my knowledge of changing rooms. Feel free to insert your own “she only had her shelf to blame” joke here, folks!
3:36 it really tied the room together did it not?
Going by the reality programmes coming on air now there should be a new category called the "Shaggers"
The jump was a bad idea
HORRIBLE! ha ha
I remember Golden Balls
Also rise and fall had a potental.
Can you do unsold British kids pilots
Golden Balls was to me, AHEAD of its time. We now have shows lile the circle, the traitor and several other game shows which are based on playing mind games on your fellow contestants. The only critisim I can give is Jasper Carrot was a terrible host, it should have been Bradley Walsh presenting.
Wasn’t it a rip-off of Kilroy’s Share or Shaft?
In fact, some versions of The Traitors have used Prisoners Dilemma style mechanics…
As a Wim Hof follower Freeze was cool for me.
Murder island was good too
Share or Shaft?
This is funny 7 shows on the list not reality tv and 3 were not a failure lol
Hole in the wall not a fail!!
Where is Cirque de Celebrité ?
Half of these aren’t reality shows and half of them didn’t fail. 🤦
Murder Island was crap.I only managed 2 eps
The irony of the "marry Prince Harry" show is that the real one's real marriage was an even greater farce of a reality show than the actual farce of a reality show.
He married a woman with non-white ancestry. Get over it. The Empire is dead.
And also featured someone called Megan lol
Well no.10 isnt a reality show. so someone doesn't get what defines reality. Hole in the wall hasn't failed if they are trying to bring it back again. Finally I wanna marry harry is an american show so shouldn't even be on this list.
I DO NOT AGREE 😢
Yes they were all rubbish 😴😖
