- City bounced back from the midweek disappointment against Real Madrid to thrash Newcastle United 5-0 and move three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.
First-half goals from Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte put the Blues firmly in command against lively opposition.
Rodrigo bagged the third on the hour, before crucial late goals from Phil Foden and Sterling wrapped up a wonderful afternoon the defending champions who now move within seven points of the title.

@@realkiach2399 he isnt a flop...he will become better next season just like every other big signing city made take cancelo, sterling, mahrez and stones for example they werent good in their first seasons with city but from their second season they all became brilliant players so give jack some time...his first season was bad but he showed glimses of the quality he has and the chemistry with the players such as sterling and foden...next season with the arrival of haaland and alvarez he will get better
Well maybe in this game but in reality across the season Stirling is bordering pathetic at times . He’s missed numerous open goals , his first touch is awful all to often , even in this game he was so easily dispossessed of the ball , he constantly runs himself into bad situations and loses control . It’s like taking candy from a baby at times . Grealish has far more talent and will be a consistent starter next season . With a bit of luck Stirling will be sold .

City would bounce back. As a Barca fan, I'd like to give props for the consistency this team has shown over the past few years. I have no doubts that Pep is the right man to get you your first Champions league. These defeats happen so you learn from your mistakes and also helps in gaining experience. Once you win your first Champions league, I have no doubts that you'd win many more. The tiki taka system needs a pure and clinical number 9 as well. Even though the false 9 works, a pure 9 gets you more goals. City should work on that during the transfer window.

City need clinical finishers to show how good they truly are. To perform as they do with only Gabriel Jesus as the striker shows how good City are under Pep. They now record the highest goal difference (with only one striker who has not played much this season).
If City buy 1 or 2 clinical forwards, then they will surely be the team to beat in the CL. Their problem is never creating chances but finishing off those chances is their undoing.
