City went into the game needing three points to keep the pressure on leaders Arsenal, but were up against a side who had only lost two Premier League games all season.
In a feisty, competitive and aggressive game, it was always going to be moments of individual brilliance that settled the game - and so it proved.
Phil Foden's superb mazy run and finish put City ahead on 17 minutes and Bernardo's improvised goal on 67 minutes doubled the Blues' advantage.

I kinda like how Erling is use to pull the defense. In the 2nd goal there's two defender guarding Erling and no one is marking bernardo, Intelligent movement from bernardo and cheeky assist from haaland.
Exactly. Having haaland also means he takes 2-3 defenders eyes on him.

The return of Captain Dias has brought a fighting spirit in defence and having Mahrez, Jack and Foden back on form makes me happy, I hope De Bruyne picks up as well

It's the fact he plays left wing that people diminish everything else he does on the pitch. He was everywhere when needed, plus he can keep the ball and look dangerous - create chances.. Well done lad. He'll always get the hate because of his price tag, unfortunately.

All the haters are eating their words. He's proven he was worth every single penny. Not the one with crazy stats (in terms of goals/assists at least) but as you said, he's everywhere on the pitch, winning the tackles, the 1vs1, combining to create spaces.... the sort of player every team needs.

Grealish has beeen taking people on and that's what he was missing before. He always tried to pass quick or something stoopid, now he carries the ball really well and often creates an opportunity for one of his team mates.

Team performance was great I think. Newcaslte is a very tough opponent, they play rock solid this year both offensive and defensive. There's a reason they had only lost 2 games before, less than anyone else
