I followed this recipe exactly with a few additions..... I took the lobster meat out (4-4oz tails) of the shells and covered in olive oil and sprinkled a little paprika on them then smoked with hickory chips for 30 mins on a Brinkman electric smoker.
While they were smoking I made the stock the same way as Laura.
I added 4 garlic cloves, a shallot and 1/2 yellow onion to the sauce.
At the end I added some lobster meat prior to blending all the ingredients........
WOW This was so incredible and the smoked flavor in the Bisque was AMAZING...
My Wife is hiding small containers in the refrigerator!!! Enjoy. Robert P

Friendly tip. Laura I believe that it is important that you add in your salt in the end for making soups, sauces, stock as well as boiling water. Because adding salt in advance will affect the water from coming to a rolling boil, whereas adding salt after it has come to a boil will increase the temperature a few degrees more. Also adding salt in advanced to soups, sauces, stocks etc may be overly salty as it reduces, flavours become more concentrated.

I am not a lobster lover, but was given some lobster bisque in a food give away. I picked your video to find out just what it is. It looks like it tastes good. Mine coming from a giveaway doesn't leave me believing it will taste as great as yours looks, but yours leaves me willing to try new things. As lobster is out of my price range anyway this will be my bisque experience until I get a come up-ance. But thank you for being pleasant in your presentation, and not just informative.

You can use a lobster base that it's called... better than bullion, it gives much much more flaver than lobster shells. You did use a fish base called Better than Bullion, they also make lobster base. It gives a real lobster flavor.
