👏🏻 your sky is the best stormy sky I have seen , the waves light and dark are perfectly balanced I feel the anger of the sky's and turmoil of your sea Ryan this is. A superb painting thank you so much.
I guess I am quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to stream new movies online ?
@Enoch Royal i use Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Enoch Royal Try FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
You've inspired me to spend quite a bit on art supplies to pick back up a brush. I needed this inspiration. Great work and I'm looking forward to learning so much more. Thank you so much!
Water, waves, and clouds! Can't get any better than than. Thanks!
passion and raw raging energy is what this stormy sea reminds me of. if I can get half that energy and passion to show up in my paintings I'll be happy until I try the next tutorial you put out. love your paintings. keep up the good work.
It's so beautiful to see the whole painting come together. Fantastic work!
Much appreciated!
I've had you on auto play today and it's been so great to watch your process. Such beautiful paintings
Love it, finally my skills are at a level that I can do this painting.
👮VERYYY STUNNING!!!👮I LOVE PICTURES OF THE RAGGING SEA, AND THE DARK BLUE COLORS!💜💛💚💙🌊🌊🌊☁☁☁🌪🌪🌪🛳🛳🛳
This was a great lesson! I want to give an attempt at this painting, but usually it is never as easy doing it as I think when watching it. I simply love the freedom of your painting style.
Awesome painting, I really enjoyed this one. I love storms. You really don't say what your color mixture was. Could you please let us know? Thank you fir sharing your wonderful paintings
Wow! I just found this video, this is EXCELLENT!!! You are a fantastic artist and teacher!

Your work on the waters is quite amazing. Thanks for sharing.!!!
As always, absolutely perfect, Ryan! I guess I missed the last few vids. I didn't even realize you had new ones. 1 thing though, i might recommend, is that you include more information about your paint, what colors/brands you are using and how you are mixing them for each painting. Along with any mediums you may or may not be using. I noticed when reading the comments on your videos that you have a lot of beginners and this info would be super helpful to them if they are trying to paint along with you. TFS, on to watch the rest!
Yes, I agree. I just realized he was painting with oil.
Awesome videos man. Love your style.
like the videos BUT for us newbies maybe u could show more of your palette and what colors you are mixing. ? tks
Cheryl Betas Not only that but he skips and then there’s whole sections painted. I guess it gives us more freedom to create the painting more unique to how we like it, but he skips some of his important brush strokes and transitioning phases and it just annoys me. Like why skips over so much for a tutorial? The video is already 27 minutes! Lol.
Gosh it's wicked 💜 Thank You for sharing 👌
Really cool sea. Great instructions. I too think this one is my favorite. keep em coming Ryan....
Beautiful painting. Exceptional instructions. Thank you very much
It's amasing Ryan ! Thank you so much for your videos, you explain really well everything you do, the colors and brushes you use! I study on it, and what I see gives me a motivation to continue! Your drawings inspire me and make me happy!
So happy to hear it. Keep enjoying the process!

Hey Ryan. That looks amazing.
I was watching this vid at work with a coworker just now and we were saying how we would have a hard time with painting by numbers.
Hope your good man andsee u next vid.
Awe, C'mon...You guys wouldn't have any trouble at all if you were guided by Ryan..he's a fantastic artist and teacher. You should give it a try. learning to paint is no more difficult than learning to spell and write your name. Everyone can do it!
Vraiment magnifique !!!
Awesome! 😍
Fantástico , eres un gran artista!
Fabulous work! Such crucial information you have so generously shared. Thank you.
Çok güzel açıklayıcı,çok başarılı tebrik ederim 👍👏👏👏🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🌹🌹🌹🌹
By "square-headed brush" are you talking about a flat or a bright? It looks like it must be one of these. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Nice work👍
Great painting! It would be handy to know the names of the colours used, as there's so many variations.
Its amzingg.. I m really in luvv wth ur tlent..
the painting process is not detailed but the painting is so eye catching. Can you please recreate the video with detailed steps?
Your work reminds me a lot of John Martin (my favourite artist) - - amazing!
He is actually one of my favorites as well! I love how grand and active his scenes are. The way he used clouds to complete his compositions has also been a massive inspiration for me!
Hi Ryan, is this oils or acrylic in this video? Also, what colours are you using please?
Loved it!!!..? Did you apply white gesso before. painting .im new to acrylics
This one was done with oil but no, the canvas came pre-gessoed :) If you’re new and curious about if your canvas has also been pre-gessoed hold the canvas under decent lighting and inspect the color. If it’s white it has some gesso on it. If it’s more of a tan it’s yet to be. Also, it’s worth noting you can add extra gesso to a canvas if you feel it’s too rough :)
Great job with the painting what oil paints did you use and what supplies did you use
you are a very talented artist. would love to own one of your pieces
Hey Ryan, I am studying videos to learn how to paint ocean/beach scenes (including clouds!). What are some good tips, or do you have a video, for someone just learning?
wonderful
Watercolor northern lights would be amazing
I've never been talented with watercolors, sorry :P
Thank you, thank you!!!
Happy to help :)
Fantastic I am going to give it a. Try . What blues did use, or what mx did you make?
❤❤
ryan i really love this one can you do one similiar to this of the water and some of the sky with like an angel rising up to the sky ? i have been wanting to paint soemthing all week and had some ideas of the water you have there with like a shape of an angel going up into the sky..i am grieving right now i just had a loss and would love to express it onto canvas to help me get through it ...how would you do a shape of an angel im so afraid of ruining it ... please help also it looks a little like oil painting is it ? looks awesome thanks
magnificient
Was the canvas primed with gray?
Amazing technique! Just hate the sound of the brush (for being dry, I guess) but very interesting exersice.
What colour mix did you use fo the diferent Blues ,, the light blue you mixed that your self with which colours. ?
Thanks
What pigment of “blue” are you using for the base of mixing the blues.
You are amazing
I love this and your videos, what were the first 2 colors you used for the wave?
I believe I began with mixes of Prussian Blue, French Ultramarine Blue, and Titanium White.
Where do we see what colors you use
mixing of the sky , you cut that part. why?? i wanted to see that part.
What kind of paints did you use?
Ryan, do you do any work incorporating human figures and, for that matter, animals ? And do you do portraiture ?
How do you keep your paint on your palette moist? My paint gets hard and dry and if I try to use it by a slight spray of water, tiny pieces form on my brush😳 Ryan, what can I do? With all that being said, HELP! 😄
This was done with oils so the paint naturally stays 'wet' for day. With acrylics I just put small amounts of new wet paint on my palette every 30-ish minutes :) In regards to the news letter, it was actually discontinued. I used it to alert people when I posted but now I post every Saturday on a set scheduled so it isn't necessary any longer. I hope that helps!
what colors did you use?
Was that with acrylic or what? Answer me quickly please
Oil!
can you please video on painting clouds? like real stormy clouds.
Ryan I'm a subscriber but I didn't receive any emails or newsletter. How can I obtain it?
Can you paint a fire tornado?
It is possible to complete this with acrylics?
It most certainly is!
Thank you for the lesson! You're one of my favorite artists!
is this in oil??
It is
I kinda cringe from the tiny, ragged brush-scraping; but keeping an open mind ! Sure works for you.
oh duh it is oil smiling..
I see you painting a bird at the end, anyway.
Loads of drama,tfs.
I want you to paint storms And lightning also ships
