Courtesy of this short video today I did a wee experiment on acrylic paper, not even a canvas, and I've ended up with the most realistic painting I've ever done. I've tried and tried to replicate this technique. But just haven't mastered it. Until today when I mixed the "surface" colour with glazing medium. It seemed to do the trick and made the surface appear. Before, it was just too obvious and didn't look subtle enough. I also used glazing medium with a tiny bit of pale green to lighten the waves towards the top so they looked translucent. It was just a practice picture on paper. I held it up to my husband and said "what do you see?" and he said "waves" and I thought Yesssssss! LOL!

You explain everything - the how and why, as well as, telling what products and paints to use and leave us a list and all. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am for you doing all of that. You would be surprised at the complete lack of info-useless tutorials out here on painting, crafts, and well pretty much anything you’re trying to learn. I started painting a few months ago at the age of 70 My family responded with very complimentary comments and encouraged me by giving birthday money for art classes. They seem to think that I have talent. I LOVE painting! My father was an Artist (amazing one) and numerous people in the family are talented. I didn't know that I was one of them (so I was told about talent). The younger people took art through high school I did not. Now I want to catch up! I've bought all the amazing paints, brushes, paint wheel, etc. etc. I started with the cheaper paints but now I feel ready to tackle the ore expensive since my work is improving. I love watching your tutorials! You do some incredible work. Thank you so much!!!

"Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does."

wow!!! I'm amazed! this is very encouraging. I hope my hands would be as soft as how this kind of work is being done... my mind is such a huge thinker that I can do this, but my hands, really, most of the time won't cooperate. I subscribed. =) thank you so much!
