Realistic damage model. such a good simulation, I can toooootalt see this happening irl. It's not like APFSDS shells would create SpAwLiNg or warp and bend all the metal they punched through and would massively compromise the structural components of the airframe or anything haha Noo, totally just a dart that goes right through the airframe punching a tiny exit and entry hole and deal no real damage unless it hit a vital component
@@hunormagyar1843 Not to say warthunder is more realistic. But this was the intention behind the "hull break" mechnic they used to have (before too many people complained about it). Even if you over penetrate and hit no vita compartments, if you fire a large enough slug through a lightly armoured vehicle you're gonna mess it up compeltely.
I think he just needed to lead more. He was shooting where it was, not where it was going to be. I don't think it was a bad simulation, I think he just has bad aim.🤷♂️😅
@@zimtak6418 on the right side of the screen, you can see the damage log. The game clearly registers that his shell his the hornet. It confirms 100% that he is hitting the hornet, thus leading enough. Ofc it looks like he's shooting for the nose, but he's actually aiming to hit centre of mass Keep in mind in this clip that: 1: the hornet is very slow 2: it's a big target, much bigger than you'd think if you've never seen one irl 3: those tank shells are likely doing well over Mach 4 out fi the barrel.

Ikr woulda been torn up quite a bit by even a single of those big hits, potentially just disintegrating mid-air lol

@@d.thieud.1056 that is because hull break was horribly inconsistent.

a single 30mm round carefully aimed can take down an f18 so hehhhhhhhh
It looks like he was simply missing because he wasn't leading enough, not because the game was programmed to let the plane take that much damage.
just saying your firing apfsds not ap
You mean it survived 5
Coz u over penned with AP u need HE
my man, it would still spawl and cause damage
American bias.
You needed to lead more. You were shooting where it was, not where it was going to be. It wasn't an inaccurate simulation, you just have bad aim.
