    NEW YORK, July 1, 2024 - Asia Society’s Center on U.S.-China Relations hosts a panel discussion about The Boiling Moat: Urgent Steps to Defend Taiwan, a new book from the Hoover Institution, which outlines the urgent steps that can deter China from invading or blockading Taiwan. Speakers include Matt Pottinger, distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution and former deputy national security advisor; Amb. Winston Lord, U.S. ambassador to China from 1985 to 1989; Jianying Zha, writer and journalist; and Zongyuan Zoe Liu, Maurice R. Greenberg Fellow for China Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations.
