A few years ago, I felt totally stuck with my work. I wanted to create exciting abstract landscapes but I had no idea how to do it.
I became so discouraged that I stopped painting for a while. I wish I had known that there was actually nothing wrong with me.
I wish I had known that the artist we are meant to be is already inside us.
Your soul (or your intuition if you prefer) already knows what to do. You are getting in the way. You are thinking and worrying and stressing and projecting. You are looking at a failed painting and making it mean something about you. And that's why you get stuck with your art.
But you can fix it!
In this video, I explain how I got unstuck. The same process will work for you. I don’t know what your art future looks like - but your soul does. Let it find its way!
I am on a mission to help artists find their own unique voice and make exciting, original artwork that is truly unique. If this sounds exciting, join my weekly artist's newsletter at www.louisefletcherart.com/new....

Wow - that was unexpectedly emotional! This, right here, is part of my problem. I spend so much time watching CZcams videos of other artists that I’m unable to establish my own style because I’m wanting to be like them - all of them! I have so many ideas, that I’m now not sure whether they’re mine, or someone else’s. I know one thing though - I don’t want to copy anyone, I want my own style, my own voice. So, I’m now going to wade through the piles of paintings I’ve rejected but kept and see how I can adapt them to something I like. Thank you!
Louise, thank you soooooo much for sharing yourself. I'm listening. ❤️
Love you Louise. Thank you for inspiring!
thank you miss Fletcher, truly, thank you
Just want you to know, if you don't already, that you are a great mentor and teacher. Well done.
Hey Louise! Thank you so much for this video. It was exactly what I needed to hear at the moment. What you said spoke directly to things I am dealing with now in regards to my art and painting. I am a self-taught mixed media (acrylic based) artist and I recently decided I want to be more of an abstract painter. I have been doing this for some years now but I still have a long way to go. Besides still trying find my particular voice, it is the "taking it to the next level" thing that I fear the most. I want to do more but the "business" side of it (promoting myself, getting out there, etc) still really intimidates me. Watching your videos is inspiring. I discovered you through Alice Sheridan and I recently started listening to Art Juice- which I love! You both are funny and very genuine and real and I love the advice you share. It is inspiring to me- a 40 something, self taught novice. Thank you (and Alice!) for all you generously share with your audience. I will keep pressing on, keep learning, keep sharing here and on my other social media, and not give in to that temptation to give up.
Fantastic video! Thank you so much for sharing!!! This is very uplifting to watch and listen to!
Thank you! I am so grateful for your wisdom. And for sharing it.
The moment I heard you few days ago your sincerity got my attention. You speak what's going on inside me.Thanks.
Many thanks for your honest and encouraging explanation that answers to a question of me! You speak directly to my heart !
It's August 2021 now and I took CVP in February. It was indeed the best thing I could have done. Now I am in the Search for Me mode and it is not easy. I sometimes don't notice that I have gone back into my head. That I don't trust my intuition. The feeling that I will have wasted the whole CVP experience and I'll never find my voice. I have been searching for mentorship to keep me on track and help me stay focused on the new way of working. So far I have not found it but I keep showing up, six to seven hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week. I keep trying to be less cerebral, more trusting, more spontaneous. I am nothing but stubborn and persistent. Just wish I could find a hand to hold right now. Thank you for your support, inspiration and honesty.
Thank you Louise, I love your passion and your understanding of the human being. You are soooooo encouraging
It took me a long time to call my myself an artist and not a painter and i must say nearly everything you mention is spot on, also you have a look and a voice that people can really pay attention too, keep those video coming 😊
Congratulations Louise you are amazing I saw your work and fell in love with it last year and since then I have found a whole new world and I signed up with Nicolas in December Thank you so much !!!!
Thank you so much for
Thank you, as you mentioned 3 people who helped you, you would be my number one person. I really appreciate it.
Thank you so much! That is EXACTLY how I feel at the moment and you've given me hope!
Very helpful video, thank you. I am in the early learning stages after having only returned to art more recently and still have a fear of the blank canvas, but thanks to many videos I am getting better with trying new techniques and not over analysing.
Thank you so much. You are such an inspiration!
You are helping me so much. Everything you described is what I have experienced.Thank you!
