@@MegaGhost10100 His beef is Thielen's complete inability to be a competent receiver and then clearly whining when he's wide open and doesn't get the ball. Watch JT's other Bryce Young videos from the preseason and you'll see what I mean, Thielen isn't a capable receiver at all any more.
On the second INT, the way Jessie Bates explains is is that he wasn’t rlly worried about a potential deep threat at that point considering the Panthers hadn’t rlly tried to go for much chunk plays at that point. I guess he made the right call in that instance.
The Terrace Marshall deep ball pains me bcuz he would of gotten a highlight play against an elite corner AJ Terrell if he didn’t quit running the route all the way 😢

Hates is full of it. Watch Green Bay throw some in routes and the shoot a deep one over his head by the 2nd quarter. Watch how pissed those corners get when he doesn’t give the help he is supposed to.
Just watching the Saints game last night and through two games idk just looks like the speed of the game is a little too fast for Bryce right now. As he get more games/live reps i’m sure it’ll slow down for him also the Panthers kinda threw him into no man’s land weapon wise. No alpha level WR, TE, or RB. It’s like the gave him a plate full of tuna and are asking him to make chicken salad out of it lol…

Packers will attack the middle too but they also have the speed to keep the safeties honest.

Gotta be honest, I was happy to see the guard pull instead of the tackle as you pointed out in the Bears video.
As a Panthers fan, I'm still encouraged by what I've seen from Bryce. It may be a year or 2 before we see his true potential, because they still need to add pieces around him, but he's got the tools. Gonna need a lot of reps to get more acquainted with the NFL.
The "adding pieces" argument in Carolina is always the go to argument. They said the exact same thing about Cam throughout his entire career in Carolina. Receivers are getting open and the O line is doing a decent job so adding pieces isn't the issue. The team isn't playing well as a team, that's the issue.

@@gametime2473 I mean it's his second NFL start lol, and they just traded their WR1. Team is really young (no pun intended), and they still have holes, it's a transition year and they are definitely not finished with the rebuilding process yet.

#19 had an ankle injury but still played. The way Falcons play against Panthers (usually hard hitting) it probably wouldn't be wise to put him in harms way especially with defenders being glue to our WRs most of the game. What ever chemistry Bryce had with our WRs was halted with injuries for week 1. No DJ Chark, Terrace Marshall JR just came back in the line up and #19😂 was limited in his role.
Dog thielen used the excuse of not being healthy for every single game of the past two seasons. He’s just not very good anymore. His routes have fallen apart and he’s incredibly slow and cannot create separation

@@BaronVonBielski 2 things can be true at the same time. He can play like dog shit, and be injured. Chances are it's an injury that won't ever go away so he's limited by it. He still has a few big plays left in him, but yea he isn't the guy who ran Diggs out of minni any more. You saw it with Welk and Julez at the end of their careers. those small quick guys get hammered and don't have the size to eat it. I'd say he's a 3 now best case, but it probably is an ankle that won't ever go away.

For all the talk about how the Panthers got a good WR coach..... he's got his work cut out for him moving forward. Thielen doesn't really get much separation as it's been pointed out plenty by JT but then I'm seeing 88 Marshall not finish routes either which is discouraging. The one route by Mingo where he didn't run past the sticks, I'll chop it up to him being a rookie but lots to clean up by the WRs that's already considered below average if they want to help Bryce out.

To make matters worse for the second to last play where theilen is supposed to do a double move; Hurst (the eventual target) was late to start off the snap because he was looking at the ref to make sure he was lined up

Not a single comment on footwork? What did you do with the real JT? He had some open throws that he missed, he had heel clicks, he wasn't always lined up, his dropback is too casual for the NFL. There were good things too, and yeah he plays on a bad team. But you were too easy on him, frankly. Normally you'd be a lot more specific and critical.
Probably because he covered most of that on Young in preseason videos. Young has shown the talent he has already and covering other deficiencies of their offense is important. Especially when the point is how incapable his receiving corp is, and how the schemes are helping get them open, but they have no talent at WR and it's so obviously a problem.

Really digging the new intro! As a panthers fan, I’m glad Bryce started his nfl career going up against one of the best defenses in the league. Those interceptions were great “welcome to the league” moments that he will build upon. Really excited to see how he develops

Jessie Bates was probably their biggest FA signing, and it clearly played dividends. Their strengths lie in their overall secondary + depth, and that interior D-line group.
The falcons D is trash lmao. They can thank the schedule makers they got bryce in game 1. He wont make these mistakes next time around.
Something I guess nobody else is seeing on that 2nd interception, Marshall slows down after his cut. Bryce is already midthrow as Marshall is cutting, he's expecting him to keep running hard, but either he quit putting in effort on yet another play or he saw the safety and was hoping Bryce would cheat the ball more outside the middle. But given how often he quit on plays, I'm willing to bet he didn't think the ball was coming to him so he stopped running hard.
TMJ is a complete bust, dude's almost as lazy as Kelvin Benjamin, and even Benjamin at least had one good year

Jessie Bates, who for my money is the best FS in football, knew the Panthers weren't going to win deep on the outside. So play center field, and hit those in breaking routes hard. Got two picks out of it.

I fully understand why you haven’t done one on Desmond Ridder. But I am interested in your analysis on his vision, decision making and confidence. Personally I think he’s taking too long to process plays and reads and hesitates.

23:59 threw it too much straight line needed more elevation with little off the ball so receiver can go get it on stride
I would like to say for Carolina and Bryce. Keep most plays short, keep a blocker back with Bryce when possible. Try to incorporate less man on man beaters and do something else. I think it is a real personnel challenge, they don't have a hell of a lot of flexibility there. He probably should get comfortable making long passes since there will be a whole lot of man on man in 3rd downs. Go for slightly bigger plays near the 50yd line. Ramping up passing yards and looking for bigger passes as he gains passing momentum. They intercepted two throws in the same spot because he is scared to send it longer.
That is what I think would counter the slow passing game. At the end of the day this channel covers the micro decision making, but I think on the macro level you simply gotta keep the other team guessing. I just wonder if it impairs his vision on long passes at his height.

Pickett was terrible, I can tell you that as someone who rewatched the game carefully. Wasn't accurate on pretty much every throw. It was strange, but I'm sure he'll bounce back. To an extent, anyways.

Theilen having that tantrum should of have been done behind closed doors. Thielen acts like he’s a true difference maker in the game when in reality he’s just a move the sticks guy. Defenses aren’t game planning around him so he needs to pull his skirt down and have patience with the rookie QB
He should be used on 3rd and short situations, Because he is not a playmaker.
Throughout the preseason, the wr’s were not impressing me and now this solidified my stance on the situation. It’s not Bryce, it’s the wr coaching and the wr’s. If there is no improvement in week 2, it’s going to be a looooooooong season for Bryce. And I think they lost yet another OL to IR!!!

Coach tbf I'm only about 7 minutes into this video but I think we need to be harsh on Bryce. Much more harsh. 2 reasons. His offensive line is outstanding and he's just bee-bopping along back thier and making a bunch or arm throws. I wanna see conviction in these passes I wanna see him step into it and try and throw it through the route runner not just too them! Bryce young better perform next week. Especially if given all the time in the world. And step into it son!!

@@_GloryHolz His arm strength is fine. His arm obviously isn’t Mahommes-level, but the staff knew that when they drafted him. Besides, he regularly found guys deep in camp and in practice. Usually that guy was Chark. In the first game, Bryce would’ve hit Marshall deep if not for Marshall’s decision to slow down; the other deep ball to Mingo was just an overthrow (but it probably wouldn’t have been if it was Chark running the route).
