    We given him 2 years. He has had more fan support and defense than probably any other player on the team. He’s going to be 25 in 2 months, and at some point the “he’s going to come good” runs out and your left with “this is who he is.” If this is the final product, which is increasingly more likely, then the good doesn’t outweigh the bad and it’s time to move on.

We always relied on him as someone who causes chaos and creates space for others. We have relied mostly on Salah and Jota for goals... Problem now is Salah is way off form and Jota has been frequently injured.. This has now shone a spotlight on the other forwards particularly Nunez and his misses are now proving more costly and frustrating.

  • @franzconradvonhotzendorf1234

    That`s just who he is.. He is just a Divok Origi replacement, not our main man. I`m sure he can still have a future at our club, but we need better than him. Just look at the 2 teams who always beat us in the last years - City and Madrid. Haaland and Benzema - you can`t have Nunez in the same conversation with those guys. We all love him and want him to do well, but the next manager will have a big decision to make. It was all in our hands, we played some beautiful football, but we couldn`t finish our chances. That was the case before Nunez arrived too btw, let`s not forget Paris final, let`s not forget the 1 point gap where we lost the league 2 times - Leicester away December 2021 comes to mind, a lot of missed chances. Maybe fresh blood and ideas are needed after all, I`m just afraid about what might come, but change is always difficult. YNWA up the reds, we had a decent season after all, let`s get that UCL spot and move on.

    The obvious solution to this is to buy a 9 when salah leaves and play Nunez wide left Diaz wide right gakpo in the 10 with a new 9. Not sure Diaz is the answer on the wing but if slot plays 4231 the 9 has to have more about them than Darwin.
    Shame because after what he did at Newcastle early in the season I thought he might prove me wrong and actually be worth the price tag.

We also lack a creative midfielder who can supplement Macca because our front 3 is struggling for service similar to last season. Robbo's crossing has been woeful lately and Trent's just gotten back from injury. Liverpool's issue especially since the United Cup game isn't scoring, it's the inability to defend single goal leads whilst gifting the opposition the first goalscoring opportunity of the match.

And we can't afford that if we wanna be a top top team. He would fit in a mediocre upper team like Chelsea or Aston Villa or Atalanta type of teams cos he will always score and miss tons of chances. I don't think it gets better

    Salah was 25 when he joined Liverpool but had not performed at Chelsea and had loan spells at other clubs before Roma then joined Liverpool where he has excelled. I see no reason to sell Nunez. Mane was a year ahead of Salah when he joined aged 24 and at first the partnership didn't work well enough. Adjustments had to be made. Nunez is not playing the game he was signed for - i.e he is not allowed the role in the EPL because defences are so much tighter and perform better than what he was used to at Benfica. At Benfica he played with huge freedom om the wing and we works better as a pace player. IN the EPL he is cramped. Yes he misses chances - as does Haaland and no doubt plenty of others but it has become a ridiculous focus out of proportion. Even if LFC end up 3rd they will have achieved a lot with players not at the top of their game - Salah, TAA, Van Dyk, Robbo, Jota etc etc - either on form or injury . So just lay off. The missed chances wouldn't have such an impact if the defence wasn't like butter and the midfield was sorted . TAA is a terrible defender, LFC dont have strength in DMs etc ...Time for new tactics and ideas.

Cody Gapko, minutes 2705 minutes in the pitch , which equates to 31 games,he as 14 goals and 5 assists. . Mo Salah 2489 minutes, equates to 27 games, he has 24 goals and 13 assists . Diego Jota Minutes 1983 minutes, equates to 22 games, he as 15 goals 4 assists. That makes Salah and Nunez most productive and a point if fact 15 of Jotas goals have come from 5 Nunez assists. • @highthoughts-nt8kd
      @highthoughts-nt8kd Před 21 dnem

      However the thing is that he misses a lot of big chances. He is very wasteful and if you look back at certain games like the one in Luton where he should have scored but he ended up missing. Things like that are a constant with him. the 18 goals he has must be a really low percentage of the total attempts at goal scoring opportunies. For example just speaking on goal, take a player like soalnke who has like 16 goals this season. He is a number 9 he has tallied that stat by finishing his chances. Which for a team like Bournemouth is far and few. Same with Isac from Newcastle. The thing with Nunez is that he will give you 18 20 plus goal seasons but he will miss a lot of chances to get there. With that said Nunez always racks up a assist or somehow causes chaos to get us back. He is not even doing that. But its not just him it Salah, and Diaz. Diaz was very wasteful against city. We should have won that game. But we did not. Scoring is the best form of defense and we are wasteful and the other team waits for a mistake to hit us back. That has what happened non stop. The only thing that can happen is a true miracle. Only God can make City and Arsenal lose games. But we have to keep clean sheet and we have to score. All of us. Even Joe Gomez

Team shot conversion must rise from 5% to 15% in run-in. Being fit to play after injury is not same as being in top form. It takes a month to get hot.
    Jota injury & Gakpo birth are why LFC lost as Mo's out of form. His conversion rate before injury was 23% & now it's 6%. If Jota had stayed fit, & Gakpo baby came a few hours later LFC wud be champs easily.
    JOTA'S CONVERSION rate is 33%. (& on big chances Jota converts a world best 66%) - LFC has 1 worldy clinical finisher & ManC has 2 in Haaland & Alverez.
