Ncuti wasn't wearing pants because he and Tennant split the clothes Tennant was wearing when they bigenerated. Tennant wound up in bare feet, but Ncuti had shoes; Tennant got the vest and undershirt while Ncuti got the dress shirt and tie. So the fact that Ncuti was in boxers suggests Tennant was going commando in the last scene.

Mel was on the show for two seasons in the 1980s. She was a bit of a healthy living person and a running joke was her telling the 6th Doctor to drink his carrot juice. Her character is a computer expert, yet this is the first time they let her use a computer on the show. That was 80s sexism.
Bingo. I was in school in the 1980’s. Boys did computers and girls did needlework 😮 I refused to do that and told my teacher until the computer room was available to girls and boys I and a few others would go to the library rather than needlework until they changed the policy. Two weeks later all the girls were in the library and the headmaster relented and gave all girls computer access and lessons.

Bigeneration was a myth - but like when the Salt thing was "a myth AND a rule" last special, it became a myth AND a rule thanks to the toymaker The doctor even said "You doubled us"
The clothes split during the bigen - so Ncuti got the collared shirt, tie, shoes and undies...... which means David is absolutely commando for the last 10 minutes ROFL

Kate hugged the Doctor since he is technically her uncle. The Classic Who era established a sort of brotherhood with the Doctor and Kates father the Brigadier. The moment was very sweet Kates interacted with the Doctor before but it was different then lol
Kate is one of my favorite characters. She is a great actress as well. Acting royalty pretty much. I need to watch some of the Brigadiers stories. 💕

I think the point the try to make with the toymaker is (imo):
The toymaker is not a human, he is not even an alien, he is basically a god trying to grasp humanity.
He has no way to experience mortality and no understanding of morality.
He likes to play mindgames (because games are his thing) and he lacks the moral compass that would stop any decent human being from being racist not because you believe in it, but you want to 'win' against your 'opponent.
The toymaker is not racist/homophobe/sexist/etc... but he would say racist/homophobe/sexist/etc... things if this means to win a mindgame.
I am not a PoC so I am arguing as a straight, white, german guy, but imo if any character is allowed to be just aweful it is the toymaker.
Villains like Davros believe to be good. They see themselves as superior and as the hero of their story. In the toymaker's story there are no heroes or villains.
there are just games.
This is said by a white, straight, german guy, so I can't tell if racist toymaker was too extreme, but if any villain in the whoniverse should be an aweful jerk with horrible takes on humanity. it should be the toymaker.

Quite frankly I'm shocked you think the Toymaker would CHEAT. He loves games and they're ONLY fun if you have a chance to lose. If you always won, that would get pretty boring. A prize can only be savored if you earned it.

As far as theToymaker is concerned - you’re right to spot that he had left one problematic costume behind, but in fact he retained and even developed his nasty intolerance of diversity and love of demeaning those he meets. His racism and dismissal of goodness are to him both just part of the game. I consider his alien character to be devoid of any morality, good and evil are abstract to him - he considers them irrelevant.

Melanie "Me" Bush was a companion to the 6th Doctor (Colin Baker) and the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) from Classic Who during the late 80's.
I did enjoy this episode Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker was absolutely fantastic but I have to say I didn't like the bi-regeneration I like it as a one-off new idea but I would had preferred that David Tennant had just simply changed into Ncuti Gatwa rather than splitting because it diminishes that the Doctor is the same person and takes away the consequences so that bit I'm not a particular fan of because it would carry alot of bagage over Ncuti and that's not the best way to introduce your new Doctor but Ncuti Gatwa had immediately won me over as the Doctor and I look forward to his era.
He immediately won me over. When I started watching the show, I started with 9 and when David took over, I wasn’t the happiest camper. He immediately won me over. Then, Matt toon over immediately won me over. Then Peter was too mean in his first series. He grew on me by the time he left. I loved Jodie, hated the companions and the writing, so it never worked. Now Ncuti is just a joy. He brings such energy with him. I’m very excited.
The bi-generation is an interesting twist. We know at some point he becomes Tom Baker again, so I’m wondering if this has something to do with that.
I’m assuming we won’t see the Doctor and Donna again unless it’s an anniversary special. It’s not like they trot out Rose and Alt Doctor all the time.

My favourite part is that in the preview clip of Ncuti in the specials (particularly the whats going on bit) we found out he was wearing no trousers 😂
