It's literally identical to Ryu's cr.mk in every meaningful way (reach, startup, hitstun, total frames). Akuma got better walkspeed on top of that.
If people feel like that button is stubby it's literally just because they're ass at the game.
@@AnaLyst_TT his cr.mk loses to standing jabs, the hurtbox is at head height for some reason. but his incredible walkspeed helps him a lot
Akuma is not supposed to be good he’s supposed to be great and broken. It’s a Akuma after all.
Lore accurate Akuma
He's easy to use but to be optimal with him is insanely hard. Kind of a different way to have a skill ceiling with him rather than just execution. It's pretty cool to see.
Like I seen kawano not give af about wake up setups and just goes highest raw damage every time. While most people online do tatsu sweep. Nice example of character expression and it seems to work well for him.
I really like this version of Akuma. His kit is complete with all his legacy moves, he can land big damage corner combos and punish combos, and has low health so he can get punished hard if he messes up... He feels "right" imo.

Certain things feel overtuned imo, like the hurtbox on his fingers for fireball don’t even exist lol. He is absolutely the funnest character i’ve played in this game for sure.
Jiyuna saying there no akuma army clearly isnt playing any of his characters in diamond ranks right now.
The Akuma army is very much active in high Plat ranks as well

My favorite thing about Akuma’s design is the sheer definition in his muscle structure.
Like a being thats reach beyond the peak of human, results of long term dark hadou use and mastery
The opinions of Tournament Level players shouldn't be used by non-tournament level players as a gauge of how good a character is. What top level people do or face is vastly different from what regular people do.

KAGE was my main in SFV, so getting AKUMA is the closest I can get in SF6. But I play him more like I used to play Kage so there are so many things I am not really using much. My Akuma probable seems very basic to people out there haha!
I preferred KAGE over akuma in SF5 l, those axe kick loops are sick

Akuma is perfectly balanced imo, yes his has a lot of options and deals a lot of damage, BUT if he makes the wrong call twice, he gets blown up
He blows people up in two touches too. His Fireballs are the best in the game, unbelievable pressure from Air FB, normals that make Chun Li look like Dan.
9k health is not a way to balance Akuma, his kit is OD.

Akuma is very good and solid in everything, but he doesn't have a broken move or something like jinrai/dragon lash
His crouching mp is as good if not better than Luke's. His standing hk is plus on block I believe. You cannot anti-air him effectively because he has a multitude of options in the air. He has elite walk speed. He has four supers. He's not good, he's great. His damage defensively is his only drawback. Nothing he has is broken, but nothing sucks.
He is fuckin incredible lol. But his health makes even weak combos dangerous against him. I honestly don't like glass canon characters I think it's bad design but hey, it is fun to have. No lie there

It’s just something about bros level 3 cinematic animation and the sheer boss master martial artist vibe it gives off. Love how Akuma does his fighting stance and says “death awaits!” And simply face palms you to the ground and delivers one stiff straight right hand to the side of your face and just walks off. 😂 nothing extravagant, but straight to the point

Akuma is ok in the new game (don’t love his new design but at least they give you the classic for cheap). I don’t care for him all of a sudden being a chatter box when as far as I’m aware he never said any real words other than “Metz!” and stuff like that.
Akuma should not be broken, and ryu should be better. It's Ryus time to shine.

Not impressed by players who only play characters based on whether they get buffed or nerfed, it's a pathetic cheap mindset , if ur favor character happens to get buffed cool, but if u switch off ur character just cuz they got nerfed , or switch to another just cuz another got buffed , that's just not something I can give praise for , there's something dignifying about winning with the character uve set on , regardless of buff or nerfs

Akuma is definitely broken, i reach master with him in 105 games while my other characters took twice as much games to reach master.

Akuma is not top tier people are just way too excited lol he is mid tier. The top tiers are the same as they were in season 1 and very little has been shaken up so far with the patches
Exactly sad to say but you have questionable skills if you really struggle against sf6 akuma as a character. I came here because he seems so neutered and there was no way i believed everybody was cool thinking hes S tier

Jiyuna just confirming that the West is scrubby. Diago also did that a day or 2 ago when he was going over his SF4 grand finals against Justin Wong 😂. The West is just way to focused on complaining about characters being strong.
Japan was the first to start complaining about JP. They even got him nerfed. Though looking at akuma now, they probably could have just taken 1000 health away and otherwise left him alone, seeing as everyone thinks it’s balanced

definitely not a character for player expression, most of the optimal combo routes are known now and like most SF6 characters there's not much variety unless you want to play suboptimally
Akuma is busted. Currently the most overrepresented character in legend rank in week 1!! That's insane for a brand-new character drop.
His health reduction is not enough to call him a true "pixie"/glass cannon character. My man does season 1 damage, too. When everyone in season 2 has had universal reductions in damage for the whole cast that 9k health is not as big an issue. The only truly scary matchup to Akuma in season 2 is Marisa or Zangief.

Week 2 and people are already calling top 3? Wait a month and you will see him multiplied in every top 8.
Best FB in the game, Air FB to make any Jump in attempt almost impossible to predict, best Oki in the game, damage for DAYS.
People saying he is ok because he has 9k health, don't have any idea what they are talking about.
St.HK covers the entire screen out of DR, best sweep in the game, an option select out of his CMD in the corner, amazing cr.MK and MP.
I wanted Akuma but they made him so obnoxious.
Agree with most of what you said but st.hk can be punished if crouch blocked and his cr.mk is short compared to all the other shotos so I wouldn't call it amazing but it's just not bad
@@rafu9248 Yes, it can be blocked, but sometimes it feels that it comes out too fast to react so you just have to expect it.
@@NeroPrototype1 True but that's with any normal you are not going to react to them from DR and others have plus on block normals I know you said he covers full screen out of DR but we are supposed to check it like a dash and if you crouch block his st.hk he is -13 so it's high risk too

High execution? Technical? High ceiling? You guys are tripping this is the most brain dead character in the entire game.
more technical/execution heavy than most SF6 characters
If you do Gouki’s target combos like a fckin r3t4rd.. ye he’s easy
But if you do optimals, with his number of tools, he’s difficult. You die in 2 touches from all characters
one of the more autopilotable for sure but also high skill ceiling no doubt
You haven’t tried Akuma’s optimal stuff at length if you’re saying that. He’s very powerful but the timing for his optimal combos and setups are right. His execution is on the higher side relative to this game. He’s not EZ bake simple inputs like Ken is. Akuma requires a little practice.
