it's so funny how the tips almost basically boils down to: oh u need to get money? just win a lottery.
Biggest pain with Akuma are his grounded fireballs. They are ridiculously fast with great recovery. He can easily control neutral with those. Then he uses the air fireballs and then demon flip. His walk speed is broken. Teleport is technically weak, but your so focused on the other stuff from the mental stack it will allow them to catch you. Pretty much all his buttons space trap and his pressure, while having gaps, can be used without them and then just walk back out of danger. Only weakness is his health. U just have to outplay him and hope for user error. Good luck with that.
I can admit his teleport isnt the best of the best, but its also one of the most unique abilities I have ever seen and like you say, you are conditioned to expect everything else, that you dont see it coming. So, really its the player using the skills, and not really the skills themselves.... but it its because of a skill, expect it to get nerfed severely.
He's better at being Ryu than Ryu.
Its frustrating that akuma’s gameplan is : my character is better than yours.

I like how all of your air fireball examples are perfectly crafted so akuma is doing it basically on top of you. Thats not how it is in actual games, its spaced out, and you know this.
What?...Dude if he does Air-fireball spaced out then he easily punishable..its wen he's on top of u or close to u that the punish is hard to do for it cos his fireballs hotbox will crush ur DP...hard bcos one has to do an anti-air DP(if they have a good one that is)very very late so that his fireball is negated by ur Dp's start up invincible frames. If he does the air fireball out of ur range then u can jump in & hit him in the air in fact I wait for an Akuma to do the air fireball spaced out cos thats a punish for me.("Mikey D."made a vid on his channel even showing how late the DP should be...check if free).

One thing you can do is empty Drive Rush when he is jumping. If he do his air fireball or a dive kick, you can punish the hell out of him. Unlike in other Street Fighter games, he cannot abuse his air tools or he will get punished hard.

That opening is on point Mura. Out of a 2 hour session last night, I think I played 3 other characters than Akuma. (Gief, Ryu and Aki) By the end I just got angry and frustrated by the matchup. I don't think that's what Capcom wants their game players to feel like...but I don't know if they care about anything other than how many people watch their events. (Which is where they get sponsorship money from I would guess) It's almost like they're using Akuma as clickbait.

I think the difficult part is when you condition someone to use parry they will parry the teleport thinking it's a firewall, gives some great mix up!

How to beat Akuma: hit him with anything. As soon as he hits 65% health he's basically dead.
tbh I've had a pretty good time with this patch. I like the Sim x Akuma match up, at least down in diamond rank.
The fact that Akuma doesn't automatically win every fireball interactions makes it feel good.
@@HellecticMojo I look forward to the Akuma's that want to dance the fireball game with me. It's the unga ones I struggle with.
I'm trying to find ways to counter Zanku with Rashid without necessarily need OD Mixer. It's kinda hard to check it, but normally I'm using it perfect parry on the fireball and heavily punishing Akuma. Sometimes saving the LV3 to response it, there's plenty time to use if I see the fireball coming.

I hate the st.HK. That's some Tekken nonsense. I am having trouble with his grounded fireballs as Zangief also. Like with Guile even I can force him to walk back or have to approach me with boom DR to avoid losing ground or something, but Akuma just seems to be able to repel me unless I perfect parry his fireballs like a god. What's up with that?
his fireball game is what pushes him over the edge to overtuned imo
Block low at all time with Akuma. Unless he hit you, st.hk will never be a matter in neutrals anymore.

I'd like to mention that I've managed to counter punish air fireball with DI many times. Its tricky and messing up is punishing but if you are in good distance and react fast it can work. But I feel Akuma is overtuned, even with 9k health, though this seems to be his reputation anyways lol

I've actually dropped out of ranked for a few weeks.
Literally every single match being against Akuma gets old fast. At least casual matches have people testing out what other characters can do. The army might as well get in on it while they can, I suspect they won't be super happy when the first patch drops. Adding a hurtbox to the projectile and slowing it down seems likely. At least his air nonsense is nowhere near as good in a game with universal armor DI.
7/10 are against akuma. Everyone is Akoomin

That part. The fanbase has been crying for Akuma since the dlc was announced/leaked and we finally got him and now we’re upset because he’s exactly what we asked for?
I know SFV was the same but it annoys me that you can't lab against the DLC characters unless you buy them. I'm not saying give me them for free but at least give me an hour in the lab every couple of days or let me rent them for X days with drive tickets lol.

People say he's ok but I disagree. He's ok at the master level but below that I think he is curb stomping noobs. He has too much going good for him and not enough bad lol. SF6 already has a deep mental stack and then we add this MF 😂

@@thedarkwonder9954 even at master level, hos pokes and fireball game are among the best on the roster. Not to mention that demonic walk speed. How do you beat a master akuma that plays footsies, no air gimmicks? Oh yea, and any knockdown he gets, is either a safejump or a strike/throw/shimmy. Hard to think of 5 characters above akuma rn.
He is not. He is really good, but Ken is still so much better. Let's not talk about Deejay from last season...

Im gonna say it, Akuma having “less health” dosent matter if he can kill you off of 3 max interactions
Giving him less health is a lazy way of "balancing" him. I assumed in SFV that they did it as they didn't know how to tone him down. In SF6 it feels as though they again didn't know how to REALLY balance him.
I am definitely part of the Akuma army but he's the only one that actually interested me in the game beyond Honda....so whatever keeps me playing lol.
I don’t like how fighting games release single dlc characters. In my opinion they should release them all or several at a time. Every single dlc character that comes out the first few weeks it’s nothing but mirror matches or a large percentage is.
Sf4 was the best when it dropped all the new characters within the same patch/update

I love how the community gets so excited about a character, and then two days after they release him, bitch and complain how broken he is, and now we are stuck with a mob of people with a broken busted character that have to deal with this for 4-5 months until the next patch/character release. Honestly I don't know what capcom was thinking with this patch either, maybe somewhat nerf Luke, Ken, jp, bring some up a little, only to release a Seth like character that reverts any of the stuff they've nerfed with other characters. Lol, idk I'm not really impressed overall and I played Akuma for about 15 minutes. Playing busted characters isn't my cup of tea. I might comeback if the season 2 dlc is any good, or if Makoto will ever make an appearance again.

The messed up part about it is that even with this knowledge, the mental stack that Akuma adds to an already mentally stacked is annoying. Like, you have to really keep your Spidey senses up. If im Akuma then all i have to do use a move/force a scenario that I didn't try during our best of 3 match lol. With every character you have to do that but with Akuma you have more options. Go back to Tekken Akuma. Their move list matches yours lol.
You are not that good if this is the case. He is not even top tier. Deejay last season WAS literally broken. You would have known if you had played against a 1800MR + player using Deejay.

You dont have to "be that good" to know that a character is really different and has a tool kit that nobody else has. He IS top tier. Name me 3 characters better than him at the moment and why. Intro was me on Saturday first taste of S2. Gave it a break until last night and then hopped back in ranked and 2 Akuma's straight away, I called it quits again. Maybe I should give it a month break? People these days are complete bots, it's unreal.

I don't mind fighting the Akuma army. I win some I lose some, gives me more experience against that character and I in turn will be stronger against him.
I can safely say that Akuma is not touching the 5 clowns in the tier list.
Ken, luke, Juri, Rashid and Deejay are still top tier.
I personally put him as Top 7 at best.
He is strong, but he is not broken tier like the top 5.
What makes the others better? Especially Ken being a shoto which is a closer comparison to Akuma.

Aki can definitely make the akuma player pay if he doing dive kick or that dive chop move she can anti air with hk then cancel in to her dive especially when coated in toxin you can drive rush then crouch hk in to super afterwards it's hard to make the read between dive kick and air fireball but if punish the dive kick hard each time then should make the akuma player only use air fireball
