I don't know what we are going to do if it keeps going in this direction I'm not going to lie I'm very scared of the future
You should be. Control the food and you control the people.
We will have to cut back on our portions and learn to make do with what we can afford.
Stock up now before prices go higher
@@user-pj1vo1in5sThat is great advice for everyone.
Honey, try to get a few extra, every time you go shopping. Start to build up your pantry. I'm sorry to say that it's going to get worse So if you can get even one or two extra. Rotate. You're going to be surprised how much this will help you
On the bread crumbs. I haven't bought bread crumbs in a very long time. For reg. Bread crumbs, i freeze the heels of my bread until I have several, then dry them in a low oven and put them in a blender to get crumbs. Panko are just the white part of the bread (no crust) and the process is the same. If you want seasoned, just add your seasoning in (ie. Italian, etc.). Hope this helps someone.
Dibs on the heels for french toast. The crust takes them up a notch, yum. I made some butter crackers the other day that weren't the greatest so turned them into crumbs yesterday.
Thanks 😊
Walmart is not that cheap anymore
AND, the size of the cans have shrunk more than a little bit.
We invested in a bread machine from thrift store for $15.00 pulled bread recipe from CZcams ,four ingredients later fresh bread ,shelf life 1 week but so much better than 15 plus ingredients I couldn’t pronounce
I’ve been trying to make sourdough bread,, it’s been interesting!,, quite the learning process,,,
I got a bread machine in the early 2000s when the kids were little. It made a smallish loaf with that paddle in the bottom and didnt go far with 5 of us. I said I can make more with my kitchenaid so I thought I gave it away. My passion has been pressure canning for the last 4 years so in reorganizing my basement, I found the bread machine so I'm going to fire it up for the 2 of us.
That's a great deal! Have you ever tried the four ingredient bread? You mix it up and let it set for 12-16 hours, no kneading, form it in a ball and bake. It's super easy and inexpensive.
Old CZcams video on "Jenny can cook" for crusty rolls. 4 ingredients, no knead, easy, yummy.
Look up No Knead Bread . You don't even need a Breadmaker just a pot :)
If you like green beans, I would grow them yourself if you are able to. They are so easy to grow and you can can them up at harvest time and they are so yummy and inexpensive. If you don't have a garden space you can grow them in pots with a trellis if they are climbing beans. These prices are nuts!
my problem with the beans is you need to grow so many of them do get a decent harvest. Have 10 growing right now, the good thing is you can crowd them and basically a 2 month month from seed to harvest. Funny I live in FL and cant keep em alive in the summer, gonna try potatoes in that spot which seem to be easy for summer.
@@BrianK-zz4fk You need to know planting schedules. Work with your local AG extension office through IFAS. I live in NW FL & plant early. I lost count after 50lbs of green beans. My garden id finished by July /August. I have not bought hardly any produce in YEARS. I am retired from horticulture & I refuse to be robbed by stores.
Green beans are really easy to grow. I do not have a green thumb. I grow stringless bush beans. Can be grown in pots on your patio.
@@kimkramarski-smith774 correct I am a newbie, going on year 3, but learn new things every year and proper planting timing for things I actually eat. I dont have a ton of space and really more of a hobbie for me and experimenting on proper placements with the sun lighting. Its nice using fresh herbs and have the Romaine lettuce schedule down but its going to be a constant learning process and a fun one in that and save a few bucks too.
Grow them on your fence. Buy a bag of dried mixed soup beans for a variety of beans. Any grocery store bag of dried beans is so much cheaper than a little seed package.
FYI--Aldi has their butter on sale for $2.69 limit 6.
Load up folks
Hubby went yesterday, only able to get 5, said come back tomorrow, how convenient is that. They were not prepared & that was early in the morning.
also Corned beef is on sale for a good price
Got my 6 pounds. Going back again before sale ends.
@@conniemccollam2605 Perhaps their truck had not arrived yet? Can't be "prepared" if it ain't there. He managed 5 out of 6? Not a reason to complain about that. The sale is still on. Just go back for more.
Thank you Danno!
Greetings from Germany, have a great day everyone 😊

When I shop at Walmart, I go in the late morning and purchase everything in 10's(pasta, noodles) or by the flat of 12(canned vegetables, chili, beans). Our local store has been condensing sections and the prices are increasing so I buy what I can when I can until everyone else catches on and the shelves start emptying faster.
Walmart is rarely a good deal anymore.
Went to Aldi yesterday, had to travel 30 miles. First time I've been, enjoyed the unique items they had. Thanks Danno for Walmart info Dahlonega, GA.
Our Closest Aldi’s is 6 Hours Away! 😢
Magnifying 🔍 glass 😂😂😂 you ain't never told a lie, they be hiding the sizes of the bags!!!
Went shopping yesterday looking for cleaning products, I about fell on the floor at the prices, I will stick with homemade
You can make diy household cleaner just by using white vinegar, baking soda and Dawn dish detergent.
I was in Walmart yesterday. Things are so expensive so I decided to look for markdowns. None in produce and most of their produce did not look very good. They had just a couple of packages of meat that were reduced for quick sale but were expiring the same day I was in there. They were marked down $.36 to $.57 each. They were expensive cuts of meat. Not worth the markdown. Then I went looking for their clearance shelf which had just a couple of items that were not food on it. Lastly, I checked the marked down rack of bread and they were all two days old and not marked down much. Not worth the prices at Walmart anymore. Unfortunately I live in an area that has hardly any markdowns at the expensive stores too.
Used to stock the freezer with great quick sale meats and you could buy big reduced prices or free produce. Old bread was given away for free. Used to be they could set soon to expire foods of all kinds on tables on the sidewalk for free but then the new laws made groceries toss everything into locked dumpsters. Too afraid people might NOT starve.
Can you go early in the morning when the store opens?
@@janetnunn210 Ours has almost stopped having anything reduced for quick sale for the past 10 years. It is such a rarity that you wonder just how old something might be.
Cat food is one of their hardest areas for stock.
Water too. Great Value
Spring Water in Illinois is 1.22.
Milk is another supply issue as well as eggs 2.09.
Great value is beet sugar. Local small town grocery has been having sales over the last year or more still finding $1.99 for 4# for cane sugar in south Louisiana. Large chain stores all $3.00+

He is fantastic, love listening to his playing.
I never buy produce at Walmart anymore. I used to get some, but the prices aren't better than Kroger, unless it is after the holidays, and I got cheap cranberries and celery.
I like Kroger vegetables, I also keep an eye out for their clearance veggies and fruit
Jackpot day for us today-I told you our only grocery store is closing in our very small rural town in Nebraska-they close tomorrow at 6 pm went today for sale got 684 dollars worth of groceries 75% off we paid 171 dollars happy dance here 👍👍👍👍👍
Wow what a great deal! Glad you got a good stock up 🛒
Thank you for the complete store analysis of the price increase here at Walmart. They just nickel and dime you on a daily basis.
Hey Danno! Looks like y'all had a good time!
Thx for the update!!
Hope you , Jessica and all your Ohio family is ok after the tornadoes went through the state
Checking the stores more often for clearance and on sale items.
Thanks for the video and the info!
Thanks for doing this. I must add when you check out make sure your prices match up because often the prices at checkout are even higher.
San Diego here: Hi Danno, your Walmart looks pretty much the same as ours.
One thing I have notices is how people are changing. They are darting, grabbing, then going. No one says excuse me or sorry if they run into you. Fear is on everyone's face. 90% of shopping carts were over flowing. Maybe because it's Friday and payday for most workers, I really don't know. I had a list and stuck to my list based on what I could afford.
The one isle with bread and peanut butter was full....although the tea section is looking very bad, the coffee section is full. Prices on butter, eggs, milk, creamer and OJ has gone up a bit, but all still lower priced than Kroger. Pasta and sauce looked fine. Salad dressing had lots of holes. Cereals and oatmeal isle was packed. Can goods were something else, including cans of tuna and chicken, NO Dak hams. No shortage on chips or cookies, cake mixes and frosting, flour and sugar, rice or beans. Plenty of fresh produce.
Ice cream section is almost bare but nearly $8 a pint. Frozen pizza completely full but very high prices.
That's it for mid March 2024 in San Diego.
Bought Delmonte canned pears this morning from Walmart, and the price was down.
How much?

The prices are very scary and food is starting to become a luxury. I thank you for this walk through. We now know what we are facing since prices are going up every hour
Walmart is very high now. I hope things change.
i stay away from walmart. there is one 9 blocks from me but it is so unorganized and nicest word i can chose is it is "scumy".
Dollar Tree is closing over 1000 stores closing just when I fell in
Love with some of their items ..this purchase of Family Dollar hurt them after the rat infestation and a 42 million dollar fine.
You can order on-line. With most items you have to order a case. On a few items you can order 4 min.
All I can say is practice or learn fast DEPRESSION ERA skills folks!
years ago goldfish were 2.5 pounds or 40 ounces. then they became 38 ounces when i worked at the stores but they consistently shrunk since then almost on a regular basis ounce or 2 at a time trying to do it without anyone noticing. i know around 6 or7 months ago, maybe i better just say sometime last year they went from 33 ounces down to 30 ounces had a few in an uproar. that probably is the last drop until you just pointed it out that i remember/noticed
Shrinkage. If anyone is using older tuna recipes, you need to use 3 small cans instead of 2 that most recipes call for. Small cans used to be 7.5 ounces compared to today's 5 ounces.
The large can of Walmart brand coffee disappeared for several months only to come back in a smaller sized can for the same price as the old larger can - evil. And it now leaves an oil slick in the coffee pot and your cup. Guessing the oil creates weight and shortens the expiration date.
I've been watching you for so long. I feel like you're my grocery shopping buddy😁✌️
As Aldi's continues to grow and buy up stores across the country, and offer cheaper more affordable prices, Walmart is very likely to lose more business, in terms of grocery purchases. Woudnt be at all surprised to see more Walmarts closing in the coming years. 🤨
Greed, simply greed@😮
Last Friday our local Docs Country Mart in Bixby OK had a 20# bag of russet potatoes for $5. There wasn't a bad one in the batch. Also found Great Value 16 oz corn starch at Walmart on clearance for $1. Bought the 3 cans they had.
I went to Walmart for the first time in months.....spent $159 for 6 bags....I did get personal care stuff and dog food too. Went to the local food store, 6 bags of food...$60. Love my little food store. (Way up here in Northern Wisconsin)
Danno 😂 u kill me. Picked the apples off the road *dead*
Hi Danno , I don’t like Walmart, I only have prescriptions there,, the self checkout is always broken, the staff are rude , shortages everywhere,, very disorganized,,
Sometimes when you get those spices off the shelf and you can't find it look above on the very top shelf they've got extra sometimes up there
Happy day to ya Danno. That Creamette Spaghetti, and other Creamette pasta is on the 7 for $7 deal at Meijer here in NE Ohio thru Saturday 3/16. Get 'em for $1 now. Reg. price $1.55.
From the data that I've been able to see, our inflation rate on essential things that we must buy, is about 30%. Like the cost of housing and energy, insurance that were required to have. Our poor elderly! It's not like most of them can just go get an extra job
Out to eliminate the old folks?
Luv ur channel Danno. Very relaxing. Except for the prices. 😅
We have so many Weber spices. We love Chicago Steak. Every Summer they used to go on sale at Frys (Kroger) for 99 cents. I’m so glad I bought a bunch!!
werling and sons is an alternative to keystone which was purchased by Tyson, free shipping online orders
I banned anything Tyson years and years ago. Tyson is now closing down some of the chicken factories to turn them into bug factories. BLM = bug lives matter! We seriously need that on a t-shirt.
Keystone has not been purchased by Tyson. It's a locally owned business in Lima, OH. Their processing plant is right there and they have a meat market where you can purchase meat and some groceries,.
@@user-pg2bs8hu4k
Tyson Foods acquired Keystone Foods from Marfrig Global Foods for a whopping $2.16 billion in cash in 2018
key detail about the acquisition:
Processing Plants: The acquisition includes six processing plants and an innovation center in the United States, located in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Notably, it does NOT include the beef patty processing plant in Ohio.
keystone foods was purchased by tyson in 2018 from marfrig global foods for 2.16 billion they brought all the plants in alabama, georgia, kentucky, n.c., pennsylvania and wisconsin. what they didn't buy was the plant in ohio which adds to the confusion too. they also brought the plants in 5 other countries.
keystone meats is i think still owned by the dorley family in lima ohio, been for generations. please note one is called keystone foods and the other keystone meat and they both had plants in ohio but keystone meats deal in canned meat to sell to the general public while keystone foods purchased by tyson deal in supplying fast food places. there was lots of confusion when tyson was buying keystone foods and everyone thought it was keystone meats. not sure what happened to the keystone food plant in ohio maybe it went to keystone meats? or someone else? whatever reason it wasn't sold with the rest of the plants but keystone meats in Lima ohio was always a different company
boycott tyson they sux@@steveherr450

Last week at our local Walmart, thry had a big, main aisle stackout of the Great Value 4 tube stack of canned chicken for $8.78 or $8.87 as opposed to the $9.99 its been for the past 12- 18 months. Since at least late 2022 there has been a manufacturing/ packing flaw with the tube 4 packs we did not see with the cans on the stack out. Thst flaw consisted of 3 upto deep gouges abput 1/2" apart across the bottom can on edges of the can. Im thinking this was part of the premature spoiling that a number of people were seeing in the canned Great Value chicken too.
I learned real quick to take the wrapping off the canned chicken and tuna because many were damaged but the damage was hidden in the middle cans. Always check the packaging and if there is damage, but still safe, set them on the counter in front of your face so you'll know to use them asap.
I buy the k-cup Walmart flavored "coffees" because I love them and they are way less than name brand. Like you said, buy them when you can because they will go up, but the other thing is, that quite often they are out of different flavors. I never take them all of certain flavors, but I'm sure there are those who do. I try to be nice and leave one or two for others. I am SO glad I bought a lot of things in the past year, because I don't know if I could afford some of these prices! WOW! I have never noticed the butternut squash soup before. We make ours from scratch. Would love to taste the difference. Kraft Am Cheese slices were on sale for $2.99 buy 5+ at Kroger a couple of weeks ago & I stocked up. How much worse will things get before we are eating bread and butter for a meal? Unbelievable. Thank you so much for shopping and keeping us informed!!
Good morning Danno and thank you for the Walmart video ❤ I shop there and buy what I need when they have somewhat deals on things ❤❤❤have a marvelous day ❤️
My favorite vegetables are canned Delmonte. and Kroger canned peas and carrots they have a nice flavor I also buy the Stevia 400 packets $17.18 a box, also needed domino sugar thanks Danno.
Daily deals had some good sales especially on cheese right now 😊
kroger has 80/20 beef 2.99/lb
Sometimes I’ll check online to see if our prices in Southern California. Our affiliate store has asparagus for $3.98, our Walmart peanut butter is $6.28!
Good morning.
I noticed the Manwich, I cannot get it here anymore in Canada. Always out.
I use ketchup and onion added to ground beef. It even better!
dont say anything there ohate speech u go jail rest life
@@robinholbrook8296 Also add a splash or two of vinegar (not much!), a couple tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and half a teaspoon of celery seed. Maybe a teaspoon of sugar to balance out the vinegar. Let it all simmer for twenty minutes or so and you have something far, far better than Manwich!
Try tomato soup, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce, chopped onion. Brown onion with ground beef, simm down after adding the other three ingredients.
Southern CA, check ads for El Super and Superior grocery stores. Huge meat counters always some good sales and lots of produce.
Check the back of tuna!!!! One I saw from Tialand, I'm scared of that
Praying for people in tornado.
Went to WD today, no applesauce and fresh veggies low. There was plenty of potatoes and onions. God bless. 👍😃🙏❤️
I'm scared too. It is exhausting looking at every sale flyer and trying to remember prices. I am so thankful for Danno❤. I dont really buy for the week anymore I buy what's on sale and stock up. I don't have tons of space but am about to buy 3 roll out under bed containers fill them for long term and duck tape the seals and check them routinely. Anybody got any ideas on using under the bed for storage.
A sales flyer. Is only good for that particular week. It can be an indicator of price hikes to follow after they go off sale ,take advantage of the sales ad. My shopping crowd hates that I stop at the door for the ad, but it's not just, things that didn't sell, last week or months ,as some claim. There's more to it.
A few weeks ago, I bought Great Value French Toast Quick Bread and Muffin Mix 15 oz box on clearance for 59 cents each. Don't know if they'd still be there now, but I would look in the cake and muffin section for deals because I usually find some good deals there, if nowhere else in the store
Hi Danno and Jess❤❤❤
Great job Danno 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Danno ❤️✝️
It wasn't that long ago when limes would be on sale for 20/$1. We're going to have to wait a while since we're eating down the freezer. Can only imagine the prices when we need to shop again.
Danno when looking at coffee,
could you check the prices of McCafe Coffee.
Thank you. ☕
I buy the no cal Great Value Sweetener, it is exactly the same as Brand Name Equal. There's no difference in taste. Only less expensive.
Even though I enjoy canning, I find it very tedious to peel apples and tomatoes. It looks like I will just have to deal with it at harvest time if I want applesauce and canned tomatoes. I grow my own tomatoes and will not pay that price just for two tomatoes. I'll wait for harvest season.
Drop tomatoes into boiling water to get the skins off tomatoes.
@gailoreilly1516. Freeze tomatoes , when they thaw skins slip right off! I'm going to try to freeze a lot of my tomatoes for canning in January when I need to have the house heated up, maybe I'll save a little on air conditioning this summer.
@@wvmountainmomma5696 That sounds like a good plan to me. I have a small chest freezer that I could definitely turn into my tomato freezer. Thanks!!
We just have to watch for best sale and stock up
I myself "cherry-pick" 😁
At Walmart, I've been to several lately, most of the Walmart brand spices are in a huge Bin in one of the main isles, show that, it's loaded with 100's of bottles of spices cheap.
Went to Kroger yesterday. BIG sale! Lots of BOGO with card. Really good coupon deals too.
I always do the digital coupons too, ends up taking around $40 off a big shop.
Question please... You covered the prices for the beet sugar, are you seeing any good deals on the cane sugar? it will be good to know where to get it, I'll need a lot for canning, and for feeding the hummingbirds. 🌸 TY!
Try a restaurant supply store. They are usually cheaper.
When you Kikkoman; say it like "kee-ko-mawn". 😁
big goldfish was 29-30oz last year so its smaller by about 3oz
You should check at the Walmart in Milford. They are clearancing a lot of things. Never seen so much marked down
Is this the same in other stores? Scary.
Mt juliet TN.we got bjs wholesale club. Some good prices, accepts manufacturing coupons on top of our digital coupons. $2.49 5lb Idaho taters. $6.99 10lb real cane sugar.
Cane sugar is sprayed with weed killer in the fields to dry it 🙄 just like sugar beets are. Daily dose of weed killer in America
You should have looked at the 25 lb bag of sugar. Last time I told you it went up to $18 a bag? well now its $19. Crazy
My local Walmart had 3lb packs kraft singles on clearance for 2.48!! With exp. Date in July.... There were 5 packs left....i got all of them. Well don't worry, core inflation is only up 0.3%, so these price increases are just an illusion, because none of us buy food or energy.
With the Dollar Tree situation i decided to look over Dollar General and as Dollar Tree/Family Dollar close stores, Dollar General reiterated its plans to execute approximately 2,385 real estate projects in fiscal year 2024, including approximately 800 new store openings, 1,500 remodels, and 85 store relocations.
Although a tough situation with the closures, not everything is negative, i wouldn't call it "Hope" but it will help hopefully.
