I couldn’t agree with you more. I feel like Zev is basically just taxing you for putting it all together for you and making it a “Gloccato” out the box, but you can easily build your own for way less.

Love my Shadow System XR920 no issues so far but it’s also stock in terms of internals. I needed that 1911 style grip angle.
Shadow Systems are great guns, I have owned a few, out of the box they are the best for the money. I have a DR920 and am also getting an XR920. They are far superior to a Glock for sure.

Been loving my shadow system foundation xr920 so far. 680 out the door at my local academy sports Only had it a month but I’ve got 300 rounds of 115 blazer and then another 300 of 124 blazer thru it so far and a 100 rounds of sig vcrown 115. Had 4 fte the first mag and since then it’s has been 100% reliable. Got the base model because I plan on upgrading the trigger down the line with one of the tactical pontoon drop in triggers and getting it chunk ported by monsoon tactical.
Love my Shadow bruh. Worth it.

I'm recently getting hip to CZ. Picked up a P10C and fell in love. Highly considering the Shadow 2 Compact as my next pick up. Just putting it out there. I like my P10C more than my Glocks.
I wish more companies would start doing threaded barrels and comps for CZs
I went with the p07 I wanted hammer fired & so light, one of my best shooters surprisingly lol first range day went awesome.
CZ p10c is the only gun I regret getting rid of. I carry the Shadow 2 compact everyday and you definitely can't go wrong with the CZ platform.
P01 is my EDC. The gun feels like it was made for my hand.
Finally someone else is a CZ P10c fan other than me and most other Guntubers. Out the box it’s a way better experience. The p10s ain’t bad either for my summer carry. Because of my big paws, I had to add a Shield Arms +2 baseplate so my pinky doesn’t hang off. Reliable then a mf. P10c is my Fall/Winter carry here in Ohio. Gonna get the P10F. Might have to grab that and one more p10c with the optic cuts, upgrade to the Omega trigger kit and, get the slide Cera-Coated for a more customized look. Definitely gotta add the P07 and the P09 to the collection 😂😂

Understand Chris, I bought the Zev MBK and built my own OZ9 and totally fell in love with it, last gun I would get rid of. Only have about $900 in mine thus far. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
This is the way to go! No reason to spend 1800 when they offer the MBK to make your own (heavier, and better grip angle) Glock clone.

I have the OZ9c tactical, so far no failure to feed issues but I do see what you are talking about. I really like the grip angle of the ZEV but other than that it is just not worth triple the price of a glock. I have picked up a CZ shadow 2 orange and it is bonkers good.
Get a PSA Dagger full size. They bought the patent for Gen3 Glocks. They offer 6 different slide cuts. Different barrels. Same size as a Glock 45 or a Glock 19. They also make a micro dagger that has a 15rd mag Put Timney trigger and night sites. You can put a new trigger and make it look nice for under $650
Ak build time! Just got me a m85 zpap in 556 to build out. I've always run Ars not gunna lie. This zastava zpap 85 surprised me. Super smooth trigger in this one I got.
I've got a few glock 19's, shadow systems mr920, then the Oz9 hypercomp. True their almost all the same. I've not had any issues with any of them, but my hypercomp is my favorite out of my striker fired pistols.

Glock 19x mags instead of the pmags it comes with. Threaded barrel with the griffin microcomp works well. Got my elite new for 1800 with a trijicon. Grip is better than factory glock.
I have the same set up and none of those problems. I would call zev, they have great customer service.
Good video! I think you are 100% right! I got a gen 5 police trade in. Had it stippled and ported one of the best shooting guns I own and got it all done for under $1K.
I'd try one of the shadow systems foundation series mr920 (g19) its maybe 50-100 more than a stock glock gen 5 with better ergonomics and optics ready. I have the regular mr920 elite and love it but the foundation series I mentioned is a great deal.

Glock is solid, and I own multiple models. People complain about how they haven't really done much new with their pistols, well yeah, because they are reliable and why mess with something people can count on. I know Chris is into the Striker Fired pistols, but I wonder how he would feel about a CZ P-07, maybe a Barretta 92X. One of my favorite guns I own is the AREX Rex Zero 1S. I know the DA trigger pull is heavy on all of those, but you can also run them in SA for a much lighter trigger pull, and CZ even gives you the Safety switch to swap out when you buy the gun, I of course don't use it like a lot of people. Chris, don't want an SA/DA pistol, maybe it is time to check out the CZ P10 series and see what you think, I mean, you did check out Taurus, why not CZ. And of course I have to say it................Canik.

Try out a CZ P01 or even a CZ P10. The P01 is my EDC and I just put the CGW Pro kit in it the trigger crazy now

If you’re in Texas I have a M&P 2.0 Performance Center 4.25 full size, SRO, APEX Trigger and TLR7A you could try. It’s my EDC, I switched over from Glock to M&P 2.0 and don’t regret it one bit the APEX Trigger is unreal.
Get a zev core elite 556 AR it’s around the same price would like see one on your channel don’t see many people with them I have one and love it 🔥 but would like to see what you think about it

$400 is a little low. You’re looking at nearly that for the radian afterburner and barrel, then you’ll need an optic and trigger to be back at the level of that gun. It could be built for $600 gun +$600 in parts. The cheapest way to build the gun is P80 completed frame from delta team tactical for $70, slide from aim surplus for $200, Aim surplus threaded barrel $60, compensator $90, Timney trigger $100, Vector Frenzy SRO clone $130. Cheapest build $650 total

Just picked up a brand new hyper comp for stupid deal 928$ plus tax but the sob wouldn’t run reliably… popped in some Glock internals and polished some rough spots for a good 2 hours and now it’s starting to run. Kinda pissed but glad I didn’t pay the full 1800 + for it

I had a Zev twice…. first time I sold it because of failure to feed issues. Then a year later I saw one in the gun store and I’m like let me try it again… and literally 4 months later I sold it basically everything you said in the video is the reason I got rid of it.

Honestly bro if you're going to do a custom glock you cant go wrong with Danger Close Armament in Colorado. They Used to be in texas. The slide and custom stipple/frame work is beyond what any zev, shadow systems etc would ever be. Adore my 43x done by them and will probably have them do a cz soon. Check them out. Flawless first class work!

Obviously it’s no different than a glock. You can get the trigger on a Glock the same as that and get it done and many other upgrades for less than 1800 bucks. I’ll never buy glock clones. I run a g45, pure tungsten guide rod, zev barrel, Glock performance trigger with the Johnny Glocks vex shoe, plus connector, and a 407c. Hell of a shooter for less than 1800
That Axe C Hatchet by Bul Armory $630 and would be a good platform for you to build from!

Take a look at the Bul Armory Hatchet.
Once you start tweaking the recoil spring, connector, striker spring, safety plunger spring, etc... you better be well into reloading your own ammo. Otherwise, all you'll have are issues with factory ammo. And that's what the Zev is. It's a tuned Glock clone.
I’ve had that problem build my own zev but got mine dialed in now and it’s my favorite by far
