    First thing I did when I bought my house 6 years ago was build a French cleat wall. Mine is in an unfinished garage with cinder blocks walls so I used Tapcon concrete screws and anchors. Highly recommend these for anyone doing something similar into concrete. I have a DIY sandpaper cabinet on my wall, but I made it a long time ago and it was made for square and rectangular sheets. Now that I use 5" and 6" discs, that cabinet is pretty much obsolete...oh wait...new project!!!

    Awsome storage unit. Everything is at hands reach, that's great. Plus you can see all of your tools at a glance. My tool till is set up similarly, and it works good. When you finish, you will have a beautiful shop. Good Job !!!😘❤❤❤

    Great addition to to shop, I love a shop job every so often, its normally something that can get done and dusted within a day and will normally give you a great shot of the feel good factor when completed, there’s something about doing something on the fly no plans just an idea and you go for it 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

    I always love your dusty normal real working shop. The French cletes are great to bring units with tools for certain projects..it's cheaper then peg board

    Love the simplicity of the French cleat. And the shot of the coffee can! Man, how my pop had so many filled with random nails, screws, bolts, nuts... Jealous of the satisfaction of getting organized. Suggestion-drill some small holes for epoxy in rare earth magnets so if you move any cleat like the chisels, they won't fall out and nic the blades or you. And a wipe on tung oil would look nice rather than paint or stain. Thank you for showing this project while busy with normal work...which is good!

    Good morning H. B. Just finished watching this morning’s video. Nice to see you giving yourself a well deserved project. Order and simplicity is something I believe we all wish we had in our own workshop’s. I know I could use a little more order in mine. Great system your using and versatility. Glad to see your shop coming together for you. Nice to know where go to grab the tool you want when you need it, and being able to find it. Enjoy your weekend!

    Great job Katie! Love seeing what others are doing with their tools & shop storage. When you get it all done maybe you can give us a shop tour.

      I'm happy with it so far. It was really the fact that aside from the initial sheet of ply all the components have been made from scrap aka free. That was the final decision maker from what type of storage to make.

    Maybe I should have gone with this but after a dozen or so complete revisions I think I'm finally happy with where I've got things - until next time! Your wall is looking good and the decision to go with quality oak ply against a painted wall makes a big difference to the feel of it. Thanks for showing a full version of the build. I am curious about you having different angles on chisel sets HB, can you say something about it in a future video? I've never thought to do that. Thanks.

      I don’t think there is a perfect system I just like this one for the reasons I put in the video, but I’ve seen some other really cool setups. I’ve read that softwoods and hardwoods should have different angles, so I keep the two sets at those two recommended angles.

    It must be the camera angle but even though you leveled it, it looks so crooked on camera. hehe. I have an extremely small shop and I have two french cleats. It's all I had room for.

    When my table saw broke on me, the new one doesn't accept a dado stack. I miss that old saw!

    • @HoneyBadgerWoodWorks
      @HoneyBadgerWoodWorks  Před 2 měsíci +1

      That sucks. I use a dado stack almost as much as a regular blade.

    • @cabman86
      @cabman86 Před 2 měsíci

      @@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks I do use the flat tooth blade a lot for dados though. It takes longer but it works.

    Now I don't feel so bad about how my chisels look. I found mine in the barn after a year of not knowing where they are. All were rusted up and dull.
