    This was so helpful and so accurate. I have been getting that light pop up intermittently for a few months, and none of the Jeep service centers or other mechanics could tell me why. Because the light didn’t stay on, they said I have to bring it when the lights are active. I found a Jeep genius recently who was able to find the issue immediately without me even asking by reading my codes. He said the exact same thing you said- the vacuum pump. I actually found your video because I'm fact-checking him because my thoughts are, “Why would the vacuum pump be triggering a stability control system light?” But now I see he was right. I wish I could have found this video b4 I paid 2 diagnostic fees for nothing smh.

    You good sir! I had to come back to this video to THANK YOU for this video. I had this warning come up recently and I knew it wasn't the aux battery because I replaced it recently. I really want to thank you for listing the troubleshooting steps. I went with the vacuum hose and that immediately did the trick. Extremely easy fix. Saved me money and time! Again THANK YOU!

    This Service Electronic Stability Control just came on today after I got my 2020 JL Wrangler back from the Jeep dealership. All I had done was an oil change and tire rotation. I am going to do some troubleshooting today and see what unfolds....Plus my check engine light came on as well.

    • @MotoMaximus
      @MotoMaximus  Před rokem +2

      Can’t imagine an oil change or a tire rotation causing this error to go off. Start with making sure that the fuses in the fuse box under the hood are not loose. The vacuum pump does reside almost directly under the oil filter housing. Perhaps some got on the pump?

    Hey man, what made you realize this was a vacuum pump issue? I’m getting both lights. I replaced the vacuum booster with an advanced auto parts pump. Hopefully that’s not the problem..I get a bit of acceleration hesitation in highway traffic and when lightly pressing the gas. Any of that sound familiar?

    • @MotoMaximus
      @MotoMaximus  Před měsícem

      I trolled the forums which all pointed to the vacuum pump, but also suggested testing other things. So I started with simple stuff first and worked my way toward vacuum. I replaced the vacuum pump but the issue persisted, so that’s when I went after a leak in the lines. Once I replaced that, the issue went away.
      It’s a goofy design to base your TCS on vacuum as that’s typically that’s done via sensors. But, it is what it is.

    hi, the problem seems to be similar with my 2018 JL sport s. My auto start stop hasn’t been working so I swapped out and it works great. But now the engine light is on and I’ve had issues where ESC, ABS, service shifter, antilock brake system, traction control, and gear going into pause mode, steering control lock, and etc. brought to dealership and looks like they cleared codes and it’s fine now. Only today I discovered from the reader from autozone saying P0456 (Evap Systemm Small Leak and C1252-92 ( Vacuum Pump Control Circuit performance or Incorrect Operation) is the issue that was found in the code.
    Do you think this has to do with the Vacuum Pump or the Hose like the video? Thanks.

    • @MotoMaximus
      @MotoMaximus  Před rokem +2

      Is it behaving fine right now? Any lights on dash? If no, I would wait. If the lights are back, test the vacuum pump by unplugging the vacuum line that goes to it and putting your finger over the inlet pipe while the car is running and when the pump activated (it cycles on and off on a regular basis). If there is suction, pump is good, move onto the vacuum line. If there is no suction while pump is activated, vacuum pump should be replaced.

Plus the gearbox light will start to flickering. After turning the car off and turning on again the check engine will come on. nothing wrong with using aftermarket stuff, but you may as well use OEM mopar parts since there shouldn’t be much of a price difference. The only exception is the pump, which may be harder to get in OEM and will be pricier. Chances are, the pump is fine.. simply start the car, unplug the vacuum line, put your finger over the intake line to the pump and wait for it to kick on. If there is suction, then it should be fine.
