I’m not crazy about the full open or fully closed discharge chutes. I’m wanting a grass flap myself for my toro 36”. I took my baffles out bc I had a lot of stragglers. Now it creates a ton of airflow and more lift=less stragglers but now clumping. I have the high lifts on it now. Need to go the full mulch route myself.
I have a snapper pro 48” walk behind what blades should I use when leaf season comes ? Right now I have the high lift and copper head

I use those only after Sept 15,

That setup is real bad - ass on big leaves, esp oak leaves.
I hate to ask a stupid question, but what changes that makes you change the type of blade you use after September 15th? Is the grass thicker, more mature? In my part of the world, there is less rain in the late summer and my grass gets parched and grows more slowly. I appreciate any insight you can give me. Thanks!

I'm absolutely in love with the Troy Bilt mulching mower I got from home depot - Adjustable deck, detachable chute. I mow the property around my place of employment, which is a high traffic area with landscaping and obstacles. Where a general purpose mower blade would bog down in high volumes of grass..Not the high lift mulching blades. Obliterated the grass to smithereens. I would always have to clean off my shoes with the side discharge mower 'cuz of clippings everywhere. Not so with the mulcher.

Matthew Boyette trimmer trap is a bad design. Get the grass flap... I was like you wanting the trimmer trap, then came across a much better design for our walk behinds
Get a electric winch, make a A frame. Press the button to lift up your mower! he hee i hang mine like a deer> I love it > a cheap 1000 lbs and up should work fine> i got a 1200 lbs electric winch on mine . the frame is 10' tall

Can’t wait to see results I live in ny and just bought a toro titan 48” deck like to mulch leaves up not pick them up I bought chute blocker for it deciding when fall to buy mulch kit for it or just the mulch blades for it gator blades don’t work for me they perform the same as high lift blades to me can’t wait to see what happens
