    I have a chart I go by, factoring size (square footage) and level of difficulty from 1 to 3 , then add 20% if the want it done biweekly vs weekly. For example, a yard that could be $45 level 1, weekly, if they want it biweekly I add 20%, so $45+20%=$54 biweekly. Add $5 per level of difficulty. If it’s well overgrown, that price can double for the first cut. I agree, any additional work beyond basic lawn care is an extra charge. Plus any disposal fees (I.e., grass clippings if they want it bagged, which is also extra charge).

    We have a lot of properties where the trees drop sticks/debris, and a lot of customers assume cleaning this is part of regular mowing service, although it takes more time and more cost. You need to factor in small things like that to your pricing.

    I used to do this back around 1985 in CA, your prices are similar of what I used to charged but no so sure how much it cost now, I moved out in 1991.
    machines are better now and you can do the work faster but still this is a hard work, guess depending where you live and how "easy" are the yards you do .
    not bagging is nice.

    Just moved to anew subsivision and almost 80% of homeowners have professional lawn company doing their lawn. But its hard to call it professional when they don’t get the job done. Some workers are thorough but mostly just cut corners.
    I do my own lawn and its a corner lot, takes 2.5 hours with walking mower + edging.
    As much as i want to hire lawn company id rather do it myself even though im 66yo. because im more satisfied with my own work against theirs.
    Yes a homeowner or business owner mowing it gets the job done.
    Great job John im a new subscriber.
    God bless🙏

    In my area most companies charge a minimum fee around $300 a month. Weekly service. 51 weeks out of the year with a service agreement. If you’re new to the industry and not sure what to charge just call around to some local companies and see what they charge. Be competitive in your pricing. Don’t undercut yourself. Your time is valuable.
    Do good work and your business will grow!

    I do have a question long curb, butter do you charge your customer a double cut or triple cut fee due to the rain if yes, when do you tell them the reason why I say that because if you don’t get rain in a couple of weeks or a couple of days, you don’t normally think about telling the customer that you’re a charge a double or triple cut fee due to the rain that makes sense. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and comments. Thanks.

    • @Bladesofgrasslawncare
      @Bladesofgrasslawncare  Před měsícem

      No, Imagine that you get a painter to paint your home and he tells you that the price doubled because it t going to rain on the scheduled day so now he will have to reschedule. Your initial price is set and you do not change the price because of Mother Nature

    • @ksjohnson219

      Lower your price, for example if you are charging 80 bi-weekly charge 55 to 60 weekly. That want i done and I got more and kept my customers

    • @Bladesofgrasslawncare
      @Bladesofgrasslawncare  Před měsícem +1

      The issue I've found is educating the customer at the beginning. Your old customers will be challenged because they are used to the schedule. Location also dictates the schedule, subdivisions with strict HOAs are the best to target for weekly services

People are lazy and think they need tractors etc for a lawn that would take them 10 minutes probably longer just because people are not putting in the leg work don’t mean it ain’t gonna take less time than someone putting in that leg work . Someone on a zero turn or lawn tractor will take longer obstacles etc . Where as a guy that’s putting in the leg work I’ve beat people mowing on zero turns with a push mower .
