I’ve recently started working for costco and it’s pretty awesome. Starting pay was $13 with Sunday’s paying time and a half. You are given 4 memberships to distribute between family. Health and dental benefits are amazing. Plus they help a ton with college students! You do have to get lucky when it comes to getting an interview.

As a Costco employee I can attest these are all true.
In Canada the wage cap for a regular employee (not supervisor or manager) is just under $27/h.
Benefits: Dental and Medical, eye glasses, paid disability leave (if you need surgery of whatever) and the company always hires internally and does all training internally.
No experience is needed when applying, all they want is someone who's willing to learn and works hard.

They forgot the killer food court... ill admit there is many a time I swing by Costco just to grab a pizza or hot dog :)... there is something to be said about a company that wisely uses the loss leader strategy to get people in [cheap food court, rotisserie chickens, oddball items...] but hey it works.

Please Post a video about the Top 5 things you didn't know about Costco and talk about 1.) the annoying and frustrating long lines at the register 2.) Can not find regular everyday supplies 3.) Problems with the membership fees/prices 4.) The one about the branding of items and some vendors don't want to sell products in Costco(Costco gets in trouble with a lot of venders selling unauthorized products). And the biggest problem that people don't know about Costco is that they DO NOT treat employees well.
I worked for Costco for 28 years before I resigned, I never got promoted, my job title never changed and employee benefits are less than average (also, benefits are 3rd party companies, so you have to deal with separate businesses to use them, you can't work with a Costco department to use the benefits, hope that made sense)
The list on the GREATNESS of Costco that you have is data from 1996, this list does not reflect the current working conditions of Costco.
Ohhh, and the CEO (Singeal who I love, he is a great man) resigned in 2010, the new CEO is NOT a Singeal type CEO, maybe that why Costco is not doing well as when Singeal was CEO.

Wait for it. It will come for real. As soon as the 1 place electric cheap cars gets approved in more regions in the US and Canada, Cosco WILL have some of them for sales.
The issue with actual fuel driven cars is the risks involved. They are already paying a lot in insurance. Having fuel driven car would push their insurance coverage sky-high and end up eating most of the profit from selling it.
As a matter of fact, Cosco do have Golf Carts available in specific regions. They already crossed the first step of selling vehicles in their stores.

Costco chickens are also significantly larger than the ones sold at other supermarkets like Shoprite and Stop & Shop. A while back one of them had a sale where if you bought ten packages of instant mashed potatoes (small ones, not the large boxes), you got a free chicken. They were about half the size of the ones from Costco. I looked through all the ones they had and they all looked pretty scrawny.

Relative works at Costco. It is really really hard to get promoted. They pretty much work on the seniority system and he has been beat out a bunch of times by someone who has more time in with the company. He has a degree in business, works incredibly hard, and is really smart. His store management loves him but won't promote him. They throw him a bone every so often to keep him from quitting. After 4 years he will be Seasonal Front of the Store Supervisor or something like that over the holidays. He is excited. He would be a manager making big bucks anywhere else but he sees the Costco Store Manager's wife driving a Bentley and gets pumped up. He'll get there some day.

By far the best retailer to work for if you work hard. Stating wage is now 13.50 with full benefits including amazingly priced healthcare. Time and half for everyone that works on Sunday. The only downside is it gonna take you five years or more to go from part-time to full-time

42% more pay plus benefits then sams club ?! Holy cow that's all I needed to hear! As they say if you treat your employees like crap like Wal-Mart/sams club (same company) there more likely to take stuff from the store and just do an ok job. Costco is smart in this way , quality employees comes with quality livable wages.

If you are going to buy one anyway and you happen to have a Costco Executive Membership, the points count towards your annual refund. You may also get a better deal in the process. Double win. I doubt Tiffany's would sell their brand at Costco these days. Better to get from another Costco-distributed brand that's just as good.

I buy the rotisserie chicken weekly to feed it to my dog (to mix w/ his kibble). I only eat at the food court if I'm really hungry, Bought a Yamaha very baby grand keyboard their for about a third of their regular cost. Bought a ottoman that converts to a bed for about $50. Kirkland vodka is good, especially considering the price (currently $13). I've had an Executive membership for years and it pays for itself.
Like most stores peruse the perimeter to find thing the want get rid off, their might be something you like (e.g. keyboard, ottoman).

WaRLoKWYATT- I wish you good luck and sincerely hope you get a job with Costco! By what you stated,it seems you have the drive and determination that Costco appreciates. Take it from this old gal who started when Price was still in the name and recently retired(most of the employees on this forum probably weren't even born yet ;). They are a great company to work for.
P.S. The wage caps I've seen mentioned between $25-27 an hour aren't exactly accurate. They forgot bonuses, profit sharing, and etc. depending on length of employment and position. So basically what I am saying is, even in a standard position you can far exceed those numbers.
