  • I'm sharing my favorite tips for organizing photos to get them ready to print for scrapbook layouts; resizing them using the PicFrame app for 2x2, 3x3, 3x4, 4x4, and more; and how to print at home on an Epson PictureMate PM-400 photo printer. I used to use a Canon Selphy printer but prefer the Epson much more!

    Wow! I can’t believe I just spent hours and hours and no telling how much more money picking the size prints I wanted for my Halloween album at a photo printing place. I have had this app for years and I used to use it to collage photos in my phone but one time I tried to have them printed at an outside place and I couldn’t get them sized right because I didn’t understand how it worked. You just explained it to me and I’m so excited to use it to print for my layouts now. Thank you so much!

      @@JaymaMalme I am currently printing TONS of photos onto regular printer paper for now just to save the ones I need/want the most. I've had issues with my Apple ID the past few years since my old phone ghosted out, my email it was connected to got removed by the email company because I totally forgot the email from my previous Iphone issue and I've had issues ever since. The phone company as well as the phone store I took the phone to to get it repaired were no help at all. So I'm still dealing with the Apple ID issue and trust me when I say it's been a nightmare. HOWEVER, YOU, yes, YOU just saved me BOATLOADS of time trying to organize A LOT of photos and printing them! Oh my gosh, seriously, if I could hug you, I would!!!! THANK you for at least helping me with my photos nightmare! lol (I can't download any apps yet but when this gets resolved, you can bet I'll be downloading that app! @@lisaruiz6799 The printer I use is the Epson PM-400 and I LOVE it. Here's the link on Amazon: amzn.to/3KD6ijF It's actually a really good price right now...usually it's $250-$260 and it's $200 now.
      The app I prefer is called PicFrame. It requires a subscription to use now to remove the watermark, but I think it's a minimal cost. I really like it. I also did another video showing 2 other totally free apps you can use to collage photos. I demonstrated on 3x4 photos but you can do any size: czcams.com/video/tQxPv-J725k/video.html

I was able to set the media and maybe that automatically shifted the quality to best?? I printed it out and it looks fine. Or maybe the better quality is in the paid version of the app? Thanks so very much for this video. I'm saving it so I can recommend to others.

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  Před 7 měsíci

      Oh no! I have not had that issue with the 5x7’s. The only thing I can think of is maybe the photos you tried printing were not high resolution. If they aren’t, then the bigger you print the lower the quality. Were they original photos? If they were downloaded from Facebook for example, they get compressed and are no longer high resolution. I am so glad you found this helpful!

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  Před 6 měsíci

      I am so glad you are loving the app! Honestly - the pixels are a guessing game for me. I am sure there's a formula to figure out how many pixels are an inch, but I just eyeball it and hope for the best. LOL. Obviously I know that for 3x4 it's going to be two photos on a 4x6. For a 4x4, I'll try to get close, and it it's not exact when I print, I'll either trim a little off or just leave it close. I don't need everything to be exact.

      The Epson website says they will last up to 200 years. They are also smudge, scratch, water, and fade resistant and I have noticed that if I get something on these photos it often comes off easier than a lab photo. Except Persnickety Prints...their photos are waterproof and I love getting my photos printed there if I do send them somewhere. Lab photos may last longer but this is good enough for me. I was actually going through a bunch of photos this week that I had printed at Costco and Walmart and the color was so off on many of them. The Epson's color is spectacular.

      Yes, you can crop it to landscape but it would crop the top and bottom so your original would have to be able to account for that. On an iphone, you’d tap edit, then crop at the bottom. Then once in the crop menu, at the top right you’ll see a box that looks like it has boxes in it. Tap that. Then at bottom you can change to landscape or also crop to various aspect ratios.

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  Před rokem +1

      Hi Lorri! I don't use it for a couple of reasons. First off, it makes me connect to my printer before I start collaging. I am often not anywhere near my printer, so that is not possible. But secondly, when I did try it once connected to my printer, I just did not like the interface. It was pretty slow and it made me go one by one to add the photos to the photo wells. I had to choose a photo, then it took me to the collage with that one photo. Then I had to go choose another photo, then add that back to the collage. It slowed me down a lot to have to add the photos one at a time rather than select all, say 6 2x2's, and then add them all at once to the collage. Hope that makes sense. It's all personal preference and the PicFrame app still wins for me :)

    • @JustLorri
      @JustLorri Před rokem

      @@JaymaMalme Thanks for replying. You do have the option of selecting multiple photos at a time and it will add them all at once to the collage. It's interesting that you needed to connect to your printer first. I often get all my photo collages set up while I'm waiting for my kids at practices/rehearsals/lessons, save, then print at home. One thing it won't do is save those collages to your camera roll for printing elsewhere, so there's that. Thanks again for replying.
