- Unboxing the OnePlus Nord 2T, an upgraded version of the original Nord 2 5G with boosted gaming performance and faster battery charging, but the same camera tech. In fact, most of the OnePlus Nord 2T specs and hardware are identical to the previous generation mid-range smartphone. But it's still one of the best options for a budget under £400 here in the UK.

While the 50MP primary camera uses the same sensor as before, that does mean you get good looking photos in most conditions. Even in low light you can expect quite bright results, although colours take a hit. The OnePlus Nord 2T can also capture 4K resolution video, while the 32MP selfie shooter is pretty good.
Gamers will enjoy this wallet-friendly 5G smartphone, which can play even proper beasts like Genshin Impact with a steady frame rate. OnePlus' OxygenOS launcher adds in a wide selection of worthy gaming tools too, for PubG, CoD Mobile and the rest.
Battery life so far has been good although stay tuned for my full review of the OnePlus Nord 2T for more on that. But so far, what do you think? Tempted for just £369 here in the UK?

Was considering another midrange Motorola but after 2 years the Motorola one hyper has turned into a jittery mess so I think I'll invest in this, bit more than I usually got for, I usually try to stay under £300 but I want something with a bit more of a powerful processor and more android updates guaranteed, I'm still on Android 11 and it's not going anywhere lmao. Absolutely love the performance prowess that this mediatek powered new Nord addition seems to be capable of offering - good choice for gamers as well.

Just pre-ordered the 256gb 12gb ram version in grey shadow to upgrade from the original Nord I purchased around 2yrs ago. Excelled phone for the price. Great value for money with these specs.

Can you disable 5g on it? I live in an area where 5g doesn't work, so no point on having it enabled and using more charge. And basically use 4g since that's everywhere I go.
@@imel3ment4l10for most phones you can just use lte/4g so i think so. I dont use 5g because i am pay as you go and it uses so much data so i dont use it

Nord 2 was launched on July 2021, so pretty sure we can expect Nord 3 to be coming in July or August. That's only about 2 months from now

Hopefully Samsung will bring an s version of their galaxy A53 till then, so in case the Nord 3 takes after the Nord 2T there's an alternative.

Hey Chris - a review on the best budget phones with expandable storage would be awesome, is that something you have in the pipeline? So man awesome mid range and budget phones to choose from but It's not always clear which ones have expandable storage. No expandable storage is really a deal breaker as I edit photos and video so much on my mobile! Awesome work by the way - my go to for phone reviews :)

Does One Plus phones work better with Strava app these days? It used to be ropy, when i used it with my 5T. The app would only track part of walks etc. Was very frustrating.

hey Chris im looking for a new smartphone , and i was thinking of a Samsung A33 /A53 or Oneplus Nord CE 2 /2/2T . Any recommendation would be helpfull since ive been Huawei user for years , and that isnt really an option anymore .

1:20, actually, with the rise of GaN chargers, the wave of smaller high wattage chargers is probably going to exterminate these chunky in-box chargers very soon. Especially affordable but reliable brands like Ugreen, Anker and Baseus are rolling out tons of GaN chargers that work just as good if not better than the chargers in-box for some devices.
It's fine if the phones are cheaper because of this, otherwise it's just like getting scammed. Apple and Samsung have been doing it for a while.
@@camotech1314 GaN chargers are cheap to produce because they need fewer components than current standard chargers. The smaller footprint helps in reducing material costs as well. You get a lot of juice out of a very small charger. Like, for the size of a 10w Samsung charger, you could get a 30w charger that's made with GaN technology. Of course, if hype marketing doesn't increase the price, this could potentially bring prices down.

I think it seems pretty decent, but it isnt anything special just your everyday experience optimized smartphone, which isnt bad, just a bit pricey and similar to the other budget oneplus stuff

Just ordered the NORD 2T, ugrading from a 6T (about 3,5yo). The main reasons I got into OP was the decent price for hardware similar to other flagship devices, as well as the oxygen os. The recent flagships are not good enough compared to samsung/apple but they cost close to that. Quite the disappointment.
I'm thinking about upgrading my Oneplus 3 that's 6 years old now. This seems like a great option.

This phone should have been cheaper, £300 or under and with a headphone jack + MicroSD slot! You can buy a Poco F3 with better specs (apart from charging speed) for around £200 now, it's overall way better device with Snapdragon 870! 🤯
But with Miui, I'd rather think not... I have the F3 and Nord 2 and Reno6 Pro, and I am so happy to use ColorOS and OxygenOS on the daily. My F3 is just downgraded to my universal TV remote and I can't be more happier😂
Software matters, get a OxygenOS or ColorOS phone, even if it costs more.
@@nickykoel1041 OxygenOS 12 is still a buggy mess though and honestly not as good compared to pre-merge OxygenOS. The gallery bug, delayed notifications and heavy battery drain after updating to Android 12 still not yet fixed on my 8T. Its been 2 months now
