  • This is a quick video review about the VTT Breather cap. According to the maker, this is to help relieve internal pressure to prevent damage to the valve cover and engine under high boost. And helps the oil drains function better.

it is purpose to work on boost stage, so it pressure inside the engine will be relieved through this cap

-- I run one on a naturally asperated 5.3L. Not here to say you're wrong, just to add, they're useful in preventing overpressure if you're running an Oil Catch Can.

After driving for a couple of days the ball valve gets stuck in the closed position.. I bought the new improved version which is not supposed to get stuck, but it still does, so basically it's a sealed unit, same as oem oil cap,but another more expensive.

I have a n54 335i pushing a lot of power and this stopped my car from having the catch can crankcase filter from dripping oily blowby (I have a head port block off and pcv delete).

Hey, mine came with some rubber gasket in it but it set real low and had lean air leak. When I transferred mine, it set flush in the came like yours. Did you have one in your new cap already too and still needed the stock one? My stock one seems a little flat and still getting lean air spikes at times.

You are correct. It does come with a gasket, but I did not see it because it was so thin. I also used two gaskets to seal.

-- You don't need to lube the check ball. Run it, let the captured oil lube it up, not going to happen instantly. If that doesn't work, do what this guy says. They really are in a lot of cases, useful, just slap it on components. And filter replacement, easy. Probably get a better one at your average auto parts store.

Your videos have good info, however, let me give you a couple public speaking tips from a professors perspective.
Oftentimes you sound as if someone just put a microphone in from of your face, and you’re speaking extemporaneously . For example, there are lots of ums, and uhhhhs. (it’s a hard habit to break, I catch myself doing it too)
Second, speak with authority! You are a source of knowledge to us, we came here because you’re offering useful information. Use words that are indicative of your elevated position. Avoid, maybe, should, could.
Example: “When you get the breather valve, pull it out of the box, inspect it and shake it to make sure the ball does not need lubricated”
I hope you don’t take this the wrong way just trying to give you some productive criticism, if I thought you were just some douche without any potential I wouldn’t even bother.
    Cheers and best of luck!!

I have the latest version of this VTT breather cap, it is the best upgrade for my N54 engine done 237K kms. Yes it performs. Fuck all those retards on forum who doesn’t know shit.
If your car has excessive crank case pressure and blow bys after hard pulls or even loss of oil quicker than usual. This is the fix. And NO the check valve doesn’t stick, it gets lubed by hot oil vapours itself. If you live in cold ass climate then yea thats a problem.
    What I experienced?
    1. No more blowby gasses/blue smokes.
    2. No more blowing up crank seal or gaskets under high boost.
    3. No abnormal high rpm at operating temperatures. On normal drive the rpm stays between 550-650rpm, on high speed driving its 675-750rpm max!
    4. No more burning excessive oil. Before my engine use to burn a litre under 800km. Now its 1200km for 0.5L oil loss only and that includes 80km of consistent high speed tracking. (Only using 5W40).
This should sum up why you need this breather cap specially on high powered cars.
