    Dr. Seyyed Hossein Nasr is a renowned philosopher, educator, scholar, author and editor, with a remarkable range of expertise in philosophy, metaphysics, art, comparative religion, esoterism, and Islamic Studies. Besides studying his works, Dr. Nasr was personally close to Schuon for many decades. He is the editor of the definitive compendium of Schuon's selected writings, “The Essential Frithjof Schuon” (World Wisdom, 2005). In that volume, Professor Nasr's introduction of 60 pages is an excellent introduction to Schuon and his body of work.
