I might have some information you find interesting. So I did a test of my Bowers Pi7, Sennheiser Momentum 2, Sony earbuds XM4, Soundcore Liberty Pro 2, and Lypertek PurePlay Z79 (that advertise three drivers in their buds!!!). The phone is Sony Experia 1 (2019 model) and the music choice is "Cool Forest Rain" by Dan Gibson's Solitudes for instrumental analysis and "One In A Million" by Aaliyah for bass & vocal analysis. Remember sound is subjective but the B&W outperformed the others by a noticeable margin. To be short the Bower's bass, mids, and highs have a very high-quality resolution to its reproduction. The other earbuds sound reproduction did have the same high-resolution as the Bower's ....and these are just .mp3 files!!!! that the Bower's is reproducing at a high-quality sound. The Bowers made the Sennheiser sound like a simulated "Hall" or "Stadium" like sound ....that surround sound mode you pick on gaming headsets that have a little echo to it. The Bowers made the Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 sound recess in the mids and little in the highs.....but to Soundcore advantage the 11mm drivers do have a little more punch (very bass-heavy) but the Bower's have a higher quality punch. The Bower's made the Sony sound a little underdeveloped in their sound presentation...the Sony's are good but not as good. Again the Bower's High, Mids, and Lows are very high quality compared to Sonys and I think the XM3 sounds better than the XM4......at least in the fullness of sound. The Bowers made the Lypertek (Wanna be Sennheiser Momentum) sound cheap and the three drivers really do nothing that makes the overall experience go WOW!! like the Bowers .....they don't even compare to Sennheiser. They give you the quantity of highs and mids with its three drivers but boy is the sound cheap......the quality of their sound is the worst of the bunch don't spend 200.00. Now if it's 80.00 dollars or lower get them because they do have a detailed sound presentation The Lypertek presented the background vocals separation that the others did not have but boy the sound of it is cheap...low resolution. Mr. William, I don't have my XM3 anymore and if I do remember the sound of the Xm3 that I had, had a slightly better sound than the new XM4 but I would ask for your opinion, please. Simply put the Bower's give you the closest sound of an "over-the-ear Bluetooth closed-back headphones" that is in the price range of 350.00 dollars to 400.00. The sound is up there with my over-the-ears-closed-back Bluetooth headphones..ie. B&W P7, Sennheiser MOMENTUM 3 Wireless, and Shure AONIC 50. As Mr. William says..... it's worth it ....Oh yeah!!! I did contact B&W technical support about the lid ( you know how I felt about that) they said that the lid is designed like that. I told B&W tech that they should have incorporated a locking mechanism when the lid is open. But hey...they sound superb!!! Keep up the good vids I will update this once I am finishing with the LDAC test of XM4 .

@@everickcruz5469 If sound is your priority, which is mine, go for the Bower's but if functionality is your priority go for the Sony. Both will offer great sound but the Bower's is the better sounding buds. But don't forget Sony LDAC mode which will get you close to Bower's PI7 if you have the sound files to take advantage of the codec. But even then the Bower's has a polish sound that is hard to describe that I am not hearing from it's competition, thus far..

I have these headphones and they are second to none in my opinion. So much better than the Apple offerings. Yeah, they’re fairly expensive but when set up properly I feel they are amazing!! Great review dude! Seen a lot of CZcams reviewers who haven’t really investigated these properly and have come to the wrong conclusions about them. 👍

I love your humility. I’m glad you finally found them worthier than previously. I have yet to purchase my PI7s but I surely will. I had been waiting for B&W to develop these as I have their T7 wireless speaker and PX5 headphones. Stock in the UK for the charcoal is iffy but I will persevere. Thanks for your update - appreciated.

My brother J, the first point that I want to say that you totally KILLED TIHIS REVIEW 💯🔥🔥. I am feeling your entire presentation, honesty, transparency and your ability to top it off with a swag that is humble and resonates with your viewers. I am a music lover since I really hit my early teens. I am 66 years old. I say that I am not smart and or diligent enough to be a true audiophile but maybe rounding second base of wishing to get home. I am the proud owner of the Bowers and Wilkins PI7’s and was fortunate to use them for a few months until they started going through straight craziness. Won’t even delve into that experience. I MEAN HORRIBLE!! I took all that I could humanly stand after doing some research etc. I decided that I reluctantly decided to put my claim in to Bowers and Wilkins to initiate an exchange. My second hurdle was to be able to actually release them from my grasp to return these bad boys which I learned to fully appreciate their impeccable sound quality without using an equalizer which is the first application that I use for tweaking those wonderful frequencies. OMG, I have never thought that I would survive that ordeal. It taught me to have patience to the 90th power. It worked one day I put on some fusion stuff which is one of my favorite genres and I fell in love with these earbuds all over like first time ❤️. Yes, still I messaged Bowers and Wilkins to ask about their omitting an equalizer as I had read several other purchasers express their concerns about the lack of an equalizer. Of course, B & W sent me a message saying thanking me for giving them a nice review and that they would be forwarding my and other responses to their Research and Development Team. Ok great. Maybe software update. Or wait until next year when the PI8’s are released next year. Either way, right now makes me want to purchase that phone that you are talking about. Resolution: B & W are sending me a new set of the PI7’s in white whenever they come off being back ordered. Learning how to be patient is a very trying experience. God bless you J and your diligent followers.

The lack of aptX on my Apple iOS devices are keeping me from buying these. I see an old posting that Apple MacBooks and iMac do support aptX, though I don't know if that is still true. However, if I'm going to use earbuds I am most likely to use them on the go.

Maybe the Nord has aptx HD codec support not all the phones have it , and the pi7 have that codec as well which makes you listen to music at 24bit HiFi sound, that is my guess J.Williams , great video as always be bless

The B&W app has a conflict with Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. If you're on a call and try to use the Hear Through feature the app crashes rendering Hear Through not functionally operable. That doesn't happen on the OnePlus 9 Pro.. I have the PX7 and was on the phone with technical support letting then know about the bug. Let's see if anything is going to be done.

HD and that's what makes them sound better.

I am still waiting for B&W to improve the controls scheme, maybe throw in a low power mode to give better battery life, not pleased with the connection...since they are difficult to pair with a fiio m11 pro player.
Dont need an EQ on those since i found they sounded great out of the box.
Unfortunately my phones also only have aptx classic or ldac (no aptx hd)

I heard Bang & Olufsen where better in sound and battery but I ended up returning them. They did not impress me, I used them with iPhone 13 pro max and I just needed more volume, its too low plus fit is another flaw. I now don't know if its worth to try the Bowers or the Geminis. I do have some IE monitors by JH audio which are amazing I know its hard to compare 3k headphones, but it would be really cool to have wireless headphones that sound amazing and loud enough to were you can lower the volume and not need more

@@JoeGillian0 I had some files that are encoded at a higher bit rate I notice a difference but it's not a next level difference where it's time put away Apt X HD and go strictly with LDAC. There are other factors that comes into play. Which still gives the Bower's the advantage in the sound department. For an example my Penrose X does not even support LDAC or Apt X HD. The Penrose X only support SBC and AAC and the Penrose X still sound better than my Drop Pandas and Shure Aonic 50 which both supports LDAC , AAA, APT X HD and SBC. The sound retrieval for detail on the Penrose X is much better which result in a better sounding headphone.. but don't get me wrong the Drop and Shure hits way above average in sound., but the Penrose hits higher. And to be honest the comparison should really be between the Penrose and Pandas because they both use Planar drivers
