I’m a 5’8 PF first year playing that position and it took me half the season to learn moves to score
I hope this video helps, if you ever have questions or anything please let me know by commenting or adding me on Instagram @alsbball and messaging me
Very useful, thanks coach. One move I also like to use is faking a turn/spin.
Thank you, yes thats a good move too
I'm a 5'9 power forward at 8th grade, I'd consider myself undersized for that position but my rebounding, bounce and weight makes up for it. The only way I scored was literally muscling myself into the post and scoring off the backboard but this helped me a lot.
happy to help
Kinda same, I’m 5’5 in 8th and I’m a center. When we get in a game, the defenders are like 6’0-6’4, but I have the best vertical on my team so I get a lot of rebounds. I average about 8 points a game but it’s mostly from put backs and free throws😭

I'm 5"8 and I play CENTER.. well I'm undersized already AGAINTS 5"10-6"3 centers.. but I still decent in averaging 12 points and 9 rebounds per game.. all my moves are just PIVOT in the middle.. pump fakes and also I OVERPOWER them with my banging in the POST . Maybe my wide body weight is useful under neath the paint
Thanks for the video, deserves more views!
Thanks, I agree lol
Thanks coach this video is really helpful for me as right now I am power forward at 6’0
Glad it helped! Keep working hard
You respond to nearly all the comments! Wow!
I try my best, I would say 75% I get to respond too
Coach these vids are awsome I'm 19 and 6'1 PF for my intramural I be practiced those moves and used them well with alongside my reverse pivot bank shot and hook shots I m trying to loose some weight as I may be able to grow taller but iwas going to ask you can you make a video on post shooting drills and post defense I struggle alot on defense I'm like a mix between adominant post scorer and a strech big . Your videos are really helpful
Thats a great idea for a video, I will make some plans.. for the post defense I hope this video helps czcams.com/video/hEAvkCE-QUo/video.html let me know
Thanks I’m 5,0 playing in the paint in junior high “don’t even ask” and I’m still new to it since I have always played guard but I’m becoming an undersized paint beast by the weeks
nice, my JV center is 6'1 and doubles as my point guard
Same I’m usually a guard that was recently forced to play a big man.
Hey coach can you make a video about which exercises make you drive better
I can here is a video until then czcams.com/video/VtlTyw1_7Qs/video.html
I newer to the channel but is there or can you make some videos to better ball handling for bigmen
coming soon... I have a video coming soon about Kai Sotto Training, that video has a lot of dribbling drills for big men
Any tips for people shooting with a long wingspan
in this video I explain how ... hope it helps ... czcams.com/video/_12m6QhFYrQ/video.html
For some reason I can’t make a fade away but I can do a hook shot so I just do that 😂
I know im a bit late but im 5”10 at 13. Im just starting to play ball and i was wondering if you could tell me if there will be taller big men.
there will always be players who are taller ... same as no matter how good someone becomes there will always be someone better... just have to compete and get better everyday
I am 5"6 or 5"7 I played power forward or center because of my big body
nice, will make some videos for you... my favourite low post move is the up and under
I’m 5”11 now would I still be a small forward
As long as your coach puts you there you can be a SF... however generally speaking depending on the offense you may be put as a SF
When you were a freshman in highschool what height was a power forward
for the grade 9-10 team it was 6 Foot.... Senior was 6'4ish
I’m a 5’5 pf and center and I’ve never played center
I have a teammate thats 6'5 and he always blocks me in the low post.
Im 6'2 at 15 and i only play center but everybody ask why dont i play pf
nice
How tall are you?
I am 6'2
@@bballcoachallen damn u look like 5'5 only in the vids lmao
Basketball Coach Allen thanks I’m only 6’0”,17 years old and play power forward. I try to play like Barkley because of his lack of height
Thx coach I'm from this video czcams.com/video/ba89UFFNjMA/video.html
Glad you liked the Shaq video, hope this video helped as well
how bout a 5'3" center? XDDDD (no legit, it's the position i play at)
What grade? could be tall if your younger ... if your 29 like me it might be a bit tough lol
@@bballcoachallen yeah, im 18 graduated from high school XD
Well, makes it tough at 5’3 as an adult but I have been guarded by shorter player when I take them into the low post and I have seen a few who take a charge when I post them up... at least defensively that’s what you could do. On offense you could post up and play tough while posting up, draw a double team and kick out for a 3
@@bballcoachallen Yeah, exactly what I do! (unfortunately, they don't like calling offensive fouls where I play at the moment XD) I have also working on a jump shot (which I have lacked which is one of the many reasons I don't play a position fit for my size) and have stayed good on the defensive end, so my team can go "small-ball". Do you have a good drill for working on catch and shoot (mid ranges or three)? Or footwork/handles? Because the real thing that lacks is my offensive game and I feel like it holds my team down.
