a tier list on finishing moves around the paint might be cool
Yeah if people like this video I'll do another one on finishes.
@@CoachFrikki you got my like!
I would love to see the one, too.
Yes please
Just wanna say I like this video and that's a tremendous idea
1:45 love how he pushes his teammate and instantly regrets it
It’s his fault they didn’t have to switch.
Why did he even do that?
@@lemondrop8203 he wanted the other guy to switch
@@aselo4ever401 oh lol
lmao
That smitty where plumlee shoves his own teammate out of the way was insane
lmao
Yeah
😭nah the push on the smitty was crazy
You’ve outdone yourself coach F. Educating and entertaining at the same time 👏

Thanks
Bro is insane
I disagree with the lateral glide because it's very useful when you use it to take more time to read defenders movement, and there are bunch of moves you can use of a lateral glide depending on how the defender reacts to it. (e.g. crossover, hesi, cross jab, or just blow by)
It depends my friend, but in 5v5 with defense pressure (and a good/smart defender on you) it doesn't work like that
Idk if its cause i have long arms but its so easy to steal
@@henrigibot4233 yes, but these are 1v1 moves so i agree with YJL
It's effective to use if you are away from your defender but if the defender is near he can steal it. Lateral glide is an easy to steal. But you can lateral glide far away and the second lateral glide is short and crossover or lateral glide and step back or escape or snatch moves
It’s easy to tell you love the game! The amount of passion put in this video is evident, especially given the sheer variety of the clips you included. Love that there’s no fluff or padding with unnecessary narration, just straight to the point with pure hoops. Excellent work and very informative!
Bro the editing and the research it took for all those clips. It is also so informative, definitely educational for those hoopers out there. High praise!!! 🙌🙌
This is dope content bro, I like the way you breakdown every move and the different counter moves. That’s really helpful for a person like me developing my skills for hooping.
Interesting. I guess it could be broken into two categories: 1. Off the catch 2. Off the dribble. The btb i wouldn't have as top. The wrap around is different than btb..i think the 1st example was btb the rest were wraps. I agree off the catch the rocker/body jab is crucial if defender is in range. Off the dribble there really isn't a superior move...if I had to pick it would be mastering the pocket dribble as most of the off the dribble moves come from the pocket unless they are straight crosses. You didn't have spin move in the ranking. I would add spin off the dribble and catch (in post up/back to basket) as an A move. Nice take though overall.
dude i can not say how much i thank you for all of these videos! legit the exact things i have been looking for!!
I love this channel so much!! Thx for all the tips and tricks on basketball moves!
Amazing video, very simple but straightforward elsewell. Well done!
I’ve just discovered your channel, and I’ve got to say I think it’s great. I love your last two videos, very helpful
Honestly I feel like thinking about dribble moves in this way is flawed cuz moves are built off of some primary threat, and then counters to those
For example, an in n out dribble is only effective when the threat of the push cross is more apparent, so to have an effective in n out you need to have a nasty push cross that defenders fear. You can see the same with basically every triple threat move: strongside ripthrough > jab step > rocker step
It might be better to think of dribble "moves" as sets of moves instead, for example, out of a hesitation you have the blow by (primary), cross (first counter), and then the hesi into a shot (counter to first two if defenders sag off) so they're all technically from the same move which is a hesitation
Just look at kd, he got a nasty hesi because he can smoke you with every single level of that move
That said, my picks for the best movesets would be the triple threat series and the hesitation (granted, these are mainly primary level moves and don't really work for changes in direction mid-drive, but if you can't get past your defender initially you can't do secondary moves anyway)
Ripthrough, jab step, rocker step, just shooting out of it (which opens up the pump fake) - literally no "dribble package" needed since you're holding the ball, so it's both simpler and easier than any dribble moveset while giving you time to make your decisions - there's a reason most great scorers (jordan, kobe, kd, melo, Tatum etc) are said to have perfected the triple threat: simple is best
I already explained the hesitation and all it's counters, and I like it because it gives you all the options just like a triple threat and you can flow into a hesitation from just about any dribble, or even mid-drive
I enjoyed the video, it's nice to see these kinds of analysis videos on basketball to help people learn more about the game; keep up the good work.
U didn't watch the video
@@elite4149 sure buddy
I give your writing piece a D. first know one asked. Second I agree that you need a bag and that all moves are important because they all work together, but this is addressed in the video. Thirdly no one gives a fuck what moves you think are good, the moves in the video seem to be based on their risk reward, effectiveness and other factors. Fuck rating them of what is a “primary move” cause then a normal ass dribble is S.
@@vincentwhelan1348 dude you have no right to fking give a rating, you fkin edited ur comment and still didnt know how to spell "no"
Really well explained. Idk if you were trained or if you're just a big basketball fan but the way you explained it is how I explain it to every kid I teach. I teach all moves as a group of skills. Like you said, the in n out and push cross... I also teach the spin with it since it forces them to learn how to "pull" the ball back as the opposite of pushing the ball across
A lot of effort put into this video, I appreciate it.
Excellent way to clarify and demonstrate player decision-making.
Thanks bro this vid rlly helped me
Your channel is a one stop shop for any serious player of any level.
Big fan. Keep doin ya thing 🤝🏼
Coach Frikki is amazing! really creative and patient to bring all these stuff out on every viewer! Thanks.

Banger vid 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best 1 on 1 moves video I ever seen! I
knew picking out rigth move based on the situation is a key to get by defender but didn't know how until now (no other video gave me such info.) Greetings from Japan.
Amazing video bro 👍🏾
Very educative and the tier makes sense
Yes finally getting recognition I been here since 3k subs
Do this for everything this video really helped me out as a basketball player honestly
The example clips for each move = great content

Very much enjoyed this video.
ur such a good coach like i learned so much!
Do more if you this if you want because it is really nice to see an actual tier list of moves. Its a good idea.
Thanks this helped a lot
Coach frikki thanks for putting philippines basketball in this video♥️🥰
Very very very nice video thanks!
Your YT channel is amazing. Thanks for all of the great content! Have you ever thought about making a video on confidence / the mental game? I drill a ton based on these vids but as soon as I step on the court it's in one ear and out the other.
I think that the only reliable way to get more confident is to get better at basketball. Get more athletic, more skilled and smarter. And confidence will follow. You don't want a bad player to confident.
If your drills aren't translating then change them up. Play more 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, they help way more than 1v0 drills. But if you're alone then imagine a defender (or multiple defenders) and react to what he does.
Might make a video on the mental game one day. Not soon though.
@@CoachFrikki I hear ya. I do play 10x better when the stakes are low. I am calmer, take my time, and apply the stuff you teach. It's when there are guys on the sidelines and everyone is yelling and taking things really seriously that I don't move at a pace that's appropriate for me and hand off the ball even when I know that I can get a shot. Think playoff Randle, heh.
Nice Video full of basketball moves to use
Best youtube channel I’m ever seen 👍
This channel is incredible
Hey bro thanks for the video. I’m an athlete but not a hoper but I still enjoy basketball and working on my game in my spare time. Thanks for breaking it down so nice
The quickest subscribe I've had
This is really helpful I think my dribbling will greatly improve after this
I just stumbled upon this channel by chance and I most say that you are one of the most underrated basketball channels in CZcams, the way you break moves down to the simplest way for anyone to understand is just too good, am a 6'7 player trying to improve and your channel has explained so much to me and I can tell that am improving........I'll keep watching every video you post.....keep it up sir🙏
If I can give a recommendation is a video on stats.....that's something that still really confuses me and others, like box plus minus etc
everyone thinks because ur very tall you're gonna be good, but you gotta practice just the same xd
simple captions dissecting move by move is so nice
The small touches at 4:19 and 7:36 have me dying lol great vid as always!
Good work man, you are really good to show the how to make a move and when to make, for me the S class is simple move like Jan,Rocker step, negative step, fale shot because the modern game you nerd to use that moves in closeouts
Great video, Now I can expand my array of basketball moves
Awesome works tq🚀🚀🚀❤️
Thanks you very much Coach Frikki your videos are very detailed and informative it really help me improve my game. I'm hoping for your insights on ISOLATION PULL UP 3'S (LUCA HARDEN KD ) and DRIVE PULL UPS (CP3 BOOKER DEROZAN). You are very effective, very worth watching.
Awesome vid deserve subs
nice video, i'm a beginner with basketball so i'll try to learn these moves over time for different situations
Very well made
Thank you coach
very well done video
This video is useful af, im gonna learn them all
This is such a good video
Thank You Very Much.
You dude is a hero without cape.
everyone missed how coach has his own clip at 9:35 for the cross jab. coach practices what he preaches! that’s how you know it works!
This video is dope as hell
Great video shoot this can be a video to learn from
I 100% agree with rocker step being S, I love that move.
I just came here to add some moves to my bag I appreciate the video
Yoooo where the step back 👌🏾🏆🐐
Great vid 👍🏾👍🏾
This is just blowby moves!
Underrated aspect of this vid is all the nasty dunks I’ve never seen before
Nice for including intl players
its cool to see filipino basketball highlights be featured on a video, more power to you coach!
Im glad i found out about you a year ago coach and your videos thaught me a lot especially about moves and finishing againts contact... and im really confused how you are not getting more exposure, people are getting info on how to get better... it's crazy but keep doing your thing your next up 💯💯💯
Glad to be able to help. Slow and steady growth here. It will all pay off in the end. Cheers!
Great video!
Love the channel and video I am in 8th grader aspiring to become an nba player and right now I am working on becoming an all around player ( I am a guard) and I’m working on increasing my bag and become more explosive and shifty. Just found this channel and I’m watching all your videos super helpful definitely gonna practice the slow BTL move looks really effective thx man!
Do plyometric excersizes for bunnies
Start lifting weights please I’m a sophomore lifting weights is the best thing I’ve ever did for increasing my explosiveness
Totally agree

Such a good video.
great video
I feel so happy for you, your subscibers ar shooting up lately👍🏾🏀👌🏾
Thanks bro. Hard work paying off 🏀
@@CoachFrikki yessir on both ends
coach you did your work its my time to do mine
This man is a genius
awesome video man, really puts all these moves into perspective. I think if you use the right move in the right situation, any move can be lethal tho
For sure. It's the read and execution that matters the most. Choosing a well fitting move helps though.
Push cross needs to go up to A+. This initial analysis is great on most of these moves, but you need to also experiment with them yourself to know for sure how and when YOU can use them. For example the push cross opens up shots, not just for blowby drives. Push cross into a delayed stepback, or tying a stepback or delayed stepback or one with a delayed gather as is common can be a great counter to many of these scenarios in the video. It's about being able to react to the defense and that only comes from 1.) having the skill to pull out ANY move (coming from PERSONAL creative exploration), and 2.) Experience playing and using them, and YES getting the ball stripped many many times trying. But also don't give up on a move in a situation just cause it got stripped a few times, learn why: maybe perfect the move or the timing or the counter.
Put in the work, enjoy the movement of it and explore. The best players explore and experiment on their own because they love the feeling of just being out there with the ball and have active imaginations.
Also, learning to jumpstop LONG and deliberately THROUGH gap defense solves many of those scenarios. Not enough players can transition from ANY move into an aggressive jumpstop with a HIGH pickup through D and I've found a lot of success splitting doubles with it when the D is at the elbow or below. (pickup depends on the helpside D hand placement and height).
Also, if you pick up the dribble with both feet in the air you can legally retain your Pivot foot creating easy counters in the paint with the pivot out then step through.
fax lmao push cross def S IMO, fav move and always works
The BTB Dribble is also great for dealing with contact on the perimeter, regardless of who initiated it.
This is possibly the greatest dribble move video I have ever seen.
Time to do all of these in one play
Talking from a dude with weak handles. The jab step and rocker steps are my best 2 options for getting by defenders. I'm very explosive/ athletic. Also the in and out is deadly. Remember my handles are weak. So crossovers and btb I tend to F up.
Amazing video , deffo a subscribe
