Love the mindset. Recently my father just hand me down a pair of his "new/old-stock" Tony Lama 4013 Zindelo's, that he purchased while working in El Paso, way back in the 80's when I was just a little-shaver. Part of their legendary "Gold Label" line, they're solid as a rock. Back when Tony Lama was still leather throughout. They're a treasured gift, that w/ proper care, maintenance, and the occasional resole, I fully expect to carry me throughout the rest of my lifetime. An item that will only increase in sentimental value for me w/ time. Appreciate the content, and here's wishing you all the best, from the Keystone state......cheers🥃 P.S. Shew... You snuck one in on me. I ain't never had any custom footwear, but I'm awful particular about what I put on my feet. I wore out a couple pair of 16" Red Wings back in my power lining days. If I'd had some good boots maybe I wouldn't be so crippled up. Great information and another fine video. Rock On D!!!
Well to be fair, Red wing did make quality boots years ago, they’ve just fell off in the pat years. Haha the crippled up part was probably just doing stuff you didn’t need to do like all of us do 😂.
It’s kinda funny, you would think I’d know a little more about the content of you video than I do. I think the reason I don’t is because of life style differences. From what I can put together from one of your knife videos and this one. Your a rancher or cowboy or one in the same. I live in northeast Mississippi I’ve been working around sawmills making lumber and railroad ties for thirty years. I’m not an amputee I lost left leg in 2017 in a hunting accident handed a five year old boy the run for one second to water a tree and the little terd blow my leg of almost bleed to death. Thankful I got my belt off and got it around my leg slow the bleeding but didn’t stop it. Well luck again I had my phone so I call for help. Took about an hour and a half to get me to a ER. I wear shoes now because I can’t get a boot on my prosthetic foot and up the leg, because the foot and toes have know movement at all it’s all titanium with a plastic shell over that that looks like a human foot. I heard of boot makers put zippers in the back of a boot or on the side. My problem is this nothing like that in my area. I you wear talking about around hear we go to a store and buy something off the shelf. Long story short here, maybe you could ask around to the boot makers in you area. Tell them my story and ask if they think they could come up with something. I’m sure they got to be vet like myself even though I didn’t lose my limb the way all of my brothers and sisters did but surely there a few in your area. Thanks for a wonderful video, Johnathan.
I realize I’m late to the party on this video, but I’m just curious how your sizing compared between the 2 boots. You mention being an 11D in the Rios, what size did you go with the Whites? I’m an 11D in Olathe’s and I got a pair of Nicks packers recently, and they recommended a half size down from there. Just curious how The whites sizing compared to
im thinking about buying a custom pair of jk work boots that are for everything, all i own is red wings and there all smooth bottom or wedge sole, always wanted a custom pair
JK boots are supposed to be very good boots from everything I’ve seen. I believe they have a good selection of soles so you can get something that fits your needs.
I have a foot problem called plantar fasciitis so I have to use orthotic insoles everyday in my footwear. Do you think they would build boots to that specification of arch support? I can see spending that kind of money on work boots if they would be able to do something like that
