I live near-ish the ocean, the sound of waves is mesmerizing, yes, and relaxing. However, many times I've been on the beach during storms too...powerful, immense, overwhelming. I don't get near the surf during winter storms, but the ocean is still mesmerizing even with wind blowing sand sideways, surprising sneaker waves, and possible tsunamis.
