    Purchased a 2015 scott addict a few months ago, its good to hear that someone else rates the bike as highly as i do!

    I own the team issue- LOVE IT!! In one word- Snappy. It is extremely light, comfortable and it descends brilliantly. Coming from an S-Works SL4, whilst the bike doesn't feel as stiff, it makes up for it with a more livelier ride and a more responsive riding experience

      do you still own the bike? Any other bikes you have ridden handles as well as the team issue?

    I truly like the review. It has been done from a angle of someone who likes the ride a bike and does not do it as a professional. So, he tells about gearing that a lot of people would use. As a non racer he had a good experience on a race oriented bike. I think those arguments mean a lot tot those who are in the market for a light, race oriented bike.
    Long term is different for everyone. Some people ride 500 miles a year for 5 years and call it long term. Others ride 10000 miles in a year and say 3 years is long term.
    There are not many reviews where the tester rides a bike on a daily basis for a year. So in review land, i call this a long term review.
    Thanks again for a usefull piece of footage...
    But, i would have cleaner the bike....

    thanks for the review. I'm torn between the Addict 20 2015 and the Foil 10 2015, with the foil being 100 quid more expensive.
    What are your thoughts on which one to get??
    I do ride a few triathlons throughout the year but also need the bike to train on throughout the week. Cheers.

    Good review, but that bike looks filthy in the close ups!

      mrcain I assume your bike is squeaky clean 24/7?

    • @superfisto
      @superfisto Před 9 lety +4

      Madman5698 Of course not. But I will clean it if I am going to take pictures of it.
      If this review intends to show the bike in the best possible light, there is no reason why it should be caked with dry mud in the close ups.

    People being a bit harsh on bike radar I think...chill out guys. What brand was the 11-32 cassette? I'm after an 11-30 and it's impossible to find one. I know you can get 12-30 but I'm after an 11t cog if there is one?

    • @mcba

      Callum Dixon It's a Shimano Ultegra 11-32 cassette.

    The author did around 2.000 miles on the bike and calls it a "long term" review? Give me a break. That's not even half of the mileage a dedicated enthusiast does in a year. So the title is a joke. And the bottom bracket stills works? Well, OF COURSE! If you need the bottom bracket replaced after about 2.000 miles than something went seriously wrong ... To sum it up: BikeRadar, you've done better reviews than this one. And please: Clean the bike at least for the video ...

    • @bikeradar
      @bikeradar  Před 9 lety +9

      Garfie1d73 Matthew is a full-time bike tester, so he has to split his miles between a number of bikes, obviously. He's also a highly experienced mechanic, so his expectations around BBs are well founded.

    • @Garfie1d73
      @Garfie1d73 Před 9 lety +1

      BikeRadar Did he disassemble the BB before formulating his opinion? I don't think so. So his assassment about the BB is as good as anyones who just looks at it and cycles on the bike. So his opinion is pure nonsense. And 2.000 miles on the bike just don't justify the title of a "long term" review. Your "argument" that he "splits his miles between of a number of bikes" doesn't change that a bit.

      Garfie1d73 Considering most reviews from the big magazines are nothing more than a lap or two around a parking lot, this is an eternity by comparison.

      Garfie1d73 Hello mate, Matthew Allen here. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy my review. As it happens I've had the cranks out and the bottom bracket bearings are still running smoothly. Yes, only after 2000+ miles, but that's by no means a given with press-fit BBs - plenty of people have killed them in fewer miles.
      And yes, perhaps I should have cleaned the bike, but I rode it to the office that morning and frankly, I couldn't be bothered. Whilst I always make sure my bikes are in fine mechanical fettle, I'm less concerned about them looking showroom fresh.
      The thrust of this piece was the the Addict is a damned fine bike. I thought so after a few weeks riding it, and I still think so after well over a year in which I've had the chance to compare it to some very expensive alternatives. Putting aside the fact that you think my opinions are nonsense, I strongly recommend that you give it a go if you're in the market for such a machine.
