Basket Weave Cutting Board

- Probably the most expensive wood project so far. The larger wood and extra tools needed to do it. As well as the amount of precision needed to make it look right. Which is why I almost didn't start it, but it worked. Very rewarding project in the end.
I was initially going to create juice grooves on the cutting board but as I reached that point, I decided the grooves would take away from the pattern. I didn't want to alter the weave pattern. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Awesome
Hey man nice work! I am wondering, what is the final size of that cutting board? Also, did you manage to use all the wood blocks for that particular final size? Thanks!
Correction: Final size was 16X11 inches, and 1 7/8 inches thick. I actually used all 6 blocks of each wood. I had several thin strips of purpleheart and cherry leftover. Thanks!
@@TheMulderProject Thank you for answering my questions. I want to make one with 60x40x4cm of the final size. Wondering the size of the wood i need
@@BahasaDrum Awesome! Happy Building!
Wish you say how much you cut off the original 2x2x24 to get the side pieces
I believe I did most of my measurements in millimeters for cutting and fitment.
1. After running the 2x2x24's through the planer they were all 47mmX47mmX24"
2. I think I cut the side pieces at 10mm thickness (which was purposely too thick).
3. I put the side pieces through the planer and continued until the main piece measured 47mmX47mm again.
4. The side pieces ended up being around 8mm thick
