P61 Black Widow model with cutaway sections, Revell 1/48
Long term project with many sections on one side cut away to reveal the detailed parts inside. I also added some struts and framework. I used popsicle sticks to make the framework. Each piece was cut and shaped individually to fit correctly and painted. Also installed some various wires and strings with different colors and sizes to create the look of electrical parts. Used some paper clips to create some pipes. The camera doesn't catch all the details I put into it. The radar in the nose was also modified to add more details. The auxiliary fuel tank under the left wing is usually just a hollow piece, so I cut almost half of it away and installed random pieces like a screen from a screen door, strands of electrical wire and pieces of sprue from the model kit. Painted them different colors to make highly detailed fuel pump type arrangement inside the tank. Made my own wooden sawhorse out of popsicle sticks to support the extra weight at the tail section. The kit came with an optional barrel, so I painted that as well.

Woodturning a Lidded Box / Jewlery Box on the Lathe Using Cedar Logs from the Back Yard.

My first attempt at making something with a lid on the lathe. Quicker and easier project than I anticipated. Should have recorded it as a CZcams Short. Decided to play with editing more since it was such a small project. These cedar logs are nice to experiment with. Basket Weave Cutting Board

Probably the most expensive wood project so far. The larger wood and extra tools needed to do it. As well as the amount of precision needed to make it look right. Which is why I almost didn't start it, but it worked. Very rewarding project in the end. I was initially going to create juice grooves on the cutting board but as I reached that point, I decided the grooves would take away from the pa...
Woodturning Birds On The Lathe

3 little projects I wanted to try out. They weren't quick and easy like I thought. But I do like how they came out. Making a list of potential projects including some that aren't wood related. Practicing a cutting board pattern. Some tools I've never used before.

    Hey man nice work! I am wondering, what is the final size of that cutting board? Also, did you manage to use all the wood blocks for that particular final size? Thanks!

    • @TheMulderProject
      @TheMulderProject Před 13 dny

      Correction: Final size was 16X11 inches, and 1 7/8 inches thick. I actually used all 6 blocks of each wood. I had several thin strips of purpleheart and cherry leftover. Thanks!

    P61 is probably the most difficult model to build and highlight the kit details - you definitely raised the bar on this build out. Your biplanes are exquisite, way above museum quality building level , I'd say you have more passion and creative ability than any modeler I've ever seen. I'm going to subscribe and " learn" more. I've reentered the hobby in retirement and have been like Rip Van Winkle with all the evolution in kits and materials Thanks for sharing and providing some motivation. Model On - Cheers

    Wish you say how much you cut off the original 2x2x24 to get the side pieces

    • @TheMulderProject
      @TheMulderProject Před měsícem

      I believe I did most of my measurements in millimeters for cutting and fitment. 1. After running the 2x2x24's through the planer they were all 47mmX47mmX24" 2. I think I cut the side pieces at 10mm thickness (which was purposely too thick). 3. I put the side pieces through the planer and continued until the main piece measured 47mmX47mm again. 4. The side pieces ended up being around 8mm thick

    Have you ever considered using Acks abrasive paste, which would have aloud you to stop sanding at 320 grit. The carnuba wax polish you get for free as a bonus.
