Die Entwicklung des BMW 850i Teil 2

ZDF Reportage zu Beginn der 1990er Jahre über die Entwicklung des wohl interessantesten Autos der Welt. Diese Reportage besteht aus insgesamt 5 Teilen und stammen von einer erst kürzlich wiederentdeckten VHS Kassette. Damit ist auch die geringe Qualität zu begründen.

I plan to get an 840Ci myself in a few years, as they are more simple, the engine is far less exclusive as it was also used in the E38 and E39 (M62 4.4l V8), and they tend to be in better shape since they're even less than a sportscar than the 850's. Untill then an E30 320i Cab is what i focus on.

so much work went into it, and today their pretty cheap to get... most underrated car!

As this came out, most people who were like 10-12 years older than I was, found the 3.0 csl better and more beautiful, I didn't, I liked this 'modern' version better, as a young man. Now, I can appreciate the 3.0 csl, 'born' in the same year I am, but I still appreciate the 850 csi and love its shape and beauty. This still looks ravishing.

Echt ein schönes Auto in seiner Zeit!

Thats because of the high gas prices and such, none can afford to maintain a 850 properly, the ones that could rather get a newer car. Most of them are bought buy young guys and run them down untill they have to resell them even cheaper, and in the end none wants to buy an expensive to run V12 that was never treated how it should be and had 8 owners in the last 10 years.
