    Hi!
    As always, wonderful video!
Iam actaully almost 16 years old and I started my PPL training in august this year, I will actually do my first solo in about three months, so Iam looking forward to that.
Before i started, it was pretty hard to find a school that wanted an 15 year old,.but anyway, I was lucky and i started my training in Halmstad flightclub, which is awesome ,not only because i get to fly and learn, but even because one of my flight instructors is a captain(TRE) for Norwegian which means that I`ll have at least some conections with the airline world, later on.
Anyway keep up the good work with this channel!
By the way, if you are near Halmstad one day, you are more than welcome to come and visit us!

-sorry unrelated question- : would be nice to have a video of approach landing with PFD or Horizon superimposed on top of the video so as to get a feel of what a pilot goes through in terms of managing instruments flying along side keeping an eye out of the window. (From 1000ft down to zero)

Different countries have different academic attainment levels for 'degrees'. What you are endeavouring to do is demonstrate to a prospective training school or employer that you can learn new things quickly. Training Schools need to demonstrate they can achieve a high pass rate. Employers have to use their training budget effectively. So, perhaps even more important is the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for the industry, hence MenTours emphasis on background research and reading. Ask yourself, if I was recruiting, what would I be looking for? I am speaking as a retired interviewer/assessor for a very large non-aviation gobal high technology company. I wish all prospective cadets and trainees the very very best in their careers. Bob.

Here is some information that was posted by Lufthansa students and by a (German) ProSieben TV documentary that aired about 2005. I thought people would be interested in the actual numbers, assuming the posts are accurate. These are spread across quite a few files on CZcams. Search for them under Lufthansa Training:
Fraction of qualified applicants who are accepted for flight crew training by Lufthansa: 8%
Number of students accepted per year: 250
To get to the point of starting type certification training (I found no numbers on type certification training itself):
-- Initial training to the point of starting type certification: Over two years
-- Training group size: 14. Multiple groups are in the pipeline simultaneously, but the documentary did not say how many
-- 900 Hours of ground school
-- 87 hours of flight training in a complex, high performance SEL aircraft (Beech Bonanza at Goodyear, AZ and Grob in Bremen, Germany). Note that these are intentionally steam-gage equipped aircraft.
    -- 128 simulator hours
-- 12 hours of flight training in a Cessna Citation (turbine twin) with a glass cockpit (of course) but no auto throttle
-- Estimated cost per student on behalf of the airline: EU 258,000 (2005). Students are responsible only for their own meals and miscellaneous personal items, the airline pays the rest. I should point out that, back then, an A36 Bonanza only cost EU 518,000 brand new. It is probably at least 60% higher than that now.

I'm in an integrated ATPL course currently and already have a 4 year degree in a non-aviation subject. My flight school, which is in Canada, has a Bachelor of Science Aviation program. I keep thinking that would be an excellent way to get the education and pilots licenses at the same time.

I was wondering if you had references to books on the subject of CRM and human factors in the cockpit. Also, you as an training-captain TRI/TRE, what are the qualities you search for in an individual who aspires to captaincy ? In essence what makes a pilot a good captain ?

My maths and science sucks. However I don't want to give up on my dream. I am currently doing my PPL and cruising through it with flying colors. My instructor says I have a gift to fly planes because I pick things up fairly quickly. I have done some aptitude test online and some I have failed miserably and others I have done alright. My question to you is, do you think its a good idea to pursue my Faptl and then purchase an aptitude test from PAT (Pilot Aptitude Test) and just practice religiously?
For my maths, I just need to work on algebra and dividing.

Let me start by saying I'm sure you've received numerous questions related to the topics I'm going to mention so I apologise if I could find this information elsewhere on your website/youtube page. Firstly, I'm sure many feel the exactly the same as me in that I'm very euthanistic about the aviation industry as a whole have no doubt it's the career path I will/hope to take, but I have some concerns about my personal ability to become a pilot. I guess I don't really have a specific question to ask you as I feel like I've explored all options regarding my situation and I am just unsure as to which path to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Let me start by saying I feel that intellectually I have dramatically improved since leaving high school, which is great, of course, but it has also meant my future ambition of becoming a pilot has been hindered as I did really quite poor in my GCSE's, meaning I do not have a level C or above in Mathematics or Science. Furthermore, my parents would not be able to financially support my training leaving me two options, I think? Either join the RAF to receive my training or work to fund my training. In order however to join the RAF I would need to complete my mathematics along with receiving a degree higher than 2:2. I am currently studying at university and have just completed my first year. I'm studying Quantity Surveying so it really isn't relevant to the industry.

what if you leave school without any qualifications and flying is all you want to do how would you get into flying school then as not everybody leaves school with academic qualifications but want to fly as their chosen profession I'm asking this on behalf of my friend who as a son and daughter who both want to be pilots but left school without any qualifications although they did very well during their schooling but didn't take the exams as their teachers made a grave error by not submitting their names on time for their chosen exam subjects (this also happened to me in 1978 where the teacher put my name forward 24hrs to late)well that's the excuse the teacher gave also my mate wants to know what is the age limit for flight school
