How convenient, i start my training tomorrow
Hi!
As always, wonderful video!
Iam actaully almost 16 years old and I started my PPL training in august this year, I will actually do my first solo in about three months, so Iam looking forward to that.
Before i started, it was pretty hard to find a school that wanted an 15 year old,.but anyway, I was lucky and i started my training in Halmstad flightclub, which is awesome ,not only because i get to fly and learn, but even because one of my flight instructors is a captain(TRE) for Norwegian which means that I`ll have at least some conections with the airline world, later on.
Anyway keep up the good work with this channel!
By the way, if you are near Halmstad one day, you are more than welcome to come and visit us!
🏆 CONGRATULATIONS FOR 7,000 SUBS 🏆

im starting my school in 2 months, i cant wait im so exited
Great! Best of luck!
I need your help mate, I want to enter in a school. I need someone to guide me just a bit.
-sorry unrelated question- : would be nice to have a video of approach landing with PFD or Horizon superimposed on top of the video so as to get a feel of what a pilot goes through in terms of managing instruments flying along side keeping an eye out of the window. (From 1000ft down to zero)
Thank you
Different countries have different academic attainment levels for 'degrees'. What you are endeavouring to do is demonstrate to a prospective training school or employer that you can learn new things quickly. Training Schools need to demonstrate they can achieve a high pass rate. Employers have to use their training budget effectively. So, perhaps even more important is the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for the industry, hence MenTours emphasis on background research and reading. Ask yourself, if I was recruiting, what would I be looking for? I am speaking as a retired interviewer/assessor for a very large non-aviation gobal high technology company. I wish all prospective cadets and trainees the very very best in their careers. Bob.
ok good luck brother
It will be hard, but hopefully fun, but i cant believe i might learn every single little button
Good information here! Glad I watched it in its entirety. What do you make of a school that guarantees a job upon graduation?
Thank You!
Thank you man, Keep up the god work. Have you ever been in (Stockholm Skavsta)? :)
Thanks captain . But at wich age should I start training ? Or which grade ? Thanks for answerring !
thank you!! how many year have you been study to become a pilot
It would just be in general, if you could give a brief insight to all three and also the procedures required if there was a rudder hard-over. Thanks.
@Mentour do you choose which aircraft want to be training or there is other ways.? I am confused
Hello Sir ,
I'm currently in standard 12th , i have Physics, chemistry, maths ,English and mechanical maintenance as my subjects in 12th (boards).Sir I just wanna ask you that what percentage I would require in 12th to get into flight school in New Zealand and also I'm wistful with my specs of power -4. And at the same time I'm too much enthusiast with my dream of becoming airline pilot.. !
Please guide me !
hello I like your video
I'm 16 right now, hoping to start in 1 year.
Here is some information that was posted by Lufthansa students and by a (German) ProSieben TV documentary that aired about 2005. I thought people would be interested in the actual numbers, assuming the posts are accurate. These are spread across quite a few files on CZcams. Search for them under Lufthansa Training:
Fraction of qualified applicants who are accepted for flight crew training by Lufthansa: 8%
Number of students accepted per year: 250
To get to the point of starting type certification training (I found no numbers on type certification training itself):
-- Initial training to the point of starting type certification: Over two years
-- Training group size: 14. Multiple groups are in the pipeline simultaneously, but the documentary did not say how many
-- 900 Hours of ground school
-- 87 hours of flight training in a complex, high performance SEL aircraft (Beech Bonanza at Goodyear, AZ and Grob in Bremen, Germany). Note that these are intentionally steam-gage equipped aircraft.
-- 128 simulator hours
-- 12 hours of flight training in a Cessna Citation (turbine twin) with a glass cockpit (of course) but no auto throttle
-- Estimated cost per student on behalf of the airline: EU 258,000 (2005). Students are responsible only for their own meals and miscellaneous personal items, the airline pays the rest. I should point out that, back then, an A36 Bonanza only cost EU 518,000 brand new. It is probably at least 60% higher than that now.
I love being a pilot
hi!
once again
could you plz go into more detail related on the ppl pls
Hi mentour! I have a little question: i don't have physics in school anymore... :/ do you think I still will be able to learn everything without that "base of knowledge"?
hey Capt +mentor pilot hope you are doing great . i have a quick question that im going for my typerating soon, so what all should i study and prepare before going for my type? thanks in advance.
Hi Captain!
Can you recommend any sites for a pilot aptitude test?
I take your advise, and I want to do it before starting ATPL.
Thank you!
Excellent video as always. Just wondering what is your opinion on Bachelor of Aviation programs? I'm in an integrated ATPL course currently and already have a 4 year degree in a non-aviation subject. My flight school, which is in Canada, has a Bachelor of Science Aviation program. I keep thinking that would be an excellent way to get the education and pilots licenses at the same time.
+highflier 270 Hey, fancy meeting you here, I am from Seneca awsell.
+killingrules I'm not at Seneca. Moncton Flight College.
Hey man great videos, i really enjoy them. I have one question i hope you can anwser, once i get my comercial pilot license can i aply for a job at an airline?? i mean for a first officer position. thanks and keep up the good work.
Yes but it depends on airlines to airlines
Hi! What Aircraft/Simulator should we expect, that the college should have in order to provide good training to aspiring pilots(Both for CPL and ATPL) , different colleges have different aircraft and simulators which generally confuses.
Mentour: would you mind making a video about wind correction calculation
Hi Mentour,
How difficult would you say airline pilot training is?
How hard did you find it?
Is there A LOT of information to retain and remember?
Thanks,
What do you think about starting with gliders? When I will be 15 I am planning to go to the flight school and when I will be 16 I will make SPL and then PPL... Is this a good idea?
Could you please do a podcast on the topic of a landing gear failure? Thanks in advance
Hi Mentour. Maybe late to answer my question now haha but I just wanna know. Can flight simmers like me prepare themselves with just keep training on the sim and do you recommend the dovetail flight school simulator game?
nice airline
Hi Mentour I chose history and ICT last year for my first lot of GCSEs and will be choosing 3 next year would Geography,French and Law be a good option for me? Ps I am only in year 10 so I have a while to go thanks Mentour !
Hey Captain Mentour, thank you for commiting some of your time in the making of these videos. I think we all appreciate it, I know I do ! I have a simple question, In light of my preparation for a governement sponsored flight training program, and in order to fullfill my interest in the topic. I was wondering if you had references to books on the subject of CRM and human factors in the cockpit. Also, you as an training-captain TRI/TRE, what are the qualities you search for in an individual who aspires to captaincy ? In essence what makes a pilot a good captain ?
Regards.
Thank you for the insight, I appreciate it.
Good dear
Hi, sir. How many years will it take for me to get a commercial pilot license? And how can I become a great pilot over the world? Thanks for such a inspiration video to make my dream come true.
There are so many 0 to ATPL Classes. Are they Ok if I.want to become a Airline Pilot
will u get some leaway if u where in the air force flying to become a airline pilot. and one more question how many years does it take to become a airline pilot
My maths and science sucks. However I don't want to give up on my dream. I am currently doing my PPL and cruising through it with flying colors. My instructor says I have a gift to fly planes because I pick things up fairly quickly. I have done some aptitude test online and some I have failed miserably and others I have done alright. My question to you is, do you think its a good idea to pursue my Faptl and then purchase an aptitude test from PAT (Pilot Aptitude Test) and just practice religiously?
For my maths, I just need to work on algebra and dividing.
could you do a video explaining some of your abbreviations? people like me don't understand all of them :D thank you very much
+Mentour Pilot ok thank you
Hi, please what level of education do I need to start the training school for pilots?
Mentour I have a question because you said that you have to get a bachelors degree but you get that in university I thought that pilot trainees go to flight school could you tell me what to do
Do you need a degree to go in the flight school? And how many years does it takes to be a commercial pilot? Thank you! ☺️ I like your videos
+Mentour Pilot Thanks!
What do you think of Part 141 schools? I'm going to one here in Puerto Rico that gives me a bachelors degree in "Professional Pilot"
Greetings! I am a high school student and hope to become a pilot someday. But first I am planning to do an Aviation Degree so that even if I do not do not become a pilot , I could still be within the aviation industry. What kind of jobs can I get if I do not become a pilot. Thanks !
what bachelors degree should i take?does it need to be a aviation related?
i have short sight problem what should i do?
Do we need to learn different languages?
Hi Mentour
I want to apply for the new MPL program of easyjet with CAE
Do you think it's a good program?
Hello sir i am in 12class so what intrance exam must be taken to study pilot in usa .and how it cost for cpl .i am from nepal
How strong should we be to handle the aircraft
The link for the suitability test didn't pop up, will you please mind linking it?
Hi!
If i fly light weight aircraft i.e cessna's, here in the uk at elstree aerodrome from the age of 14, when i get enough flight hours will i then be able to forget about flight schools and move on to flying large commercial aircraft with training by the airline
Or would it be easier to go to a flight school at the age of 17 instead of training with the airline.
Thanks
hi! I live in sweden, and i want to study to become a pilot but in sweden you have to do 3 test spatial, abstrackt, numerical-reasoning. how to pass them and how to think when you are doing this test? pls help me
hi i am 28 year old i like to try once for a pilot training. whats the maximum age for becoming the pilot.
thank you mentour
Hello mentor i have a question for you ..... DO PILOTS CHOOSE THERE HOME BASE AND AIRCRAFT ?
I’m 13 and I’m researching everything about being pilot and also those buttons are really hard and confusing me because I don’t really know which one I press.
you did not give a suitability test's link, would you be able to send it to us please?
Hi Mentour , Im your New Subscriber ... as A Pilot What is Your Favorite Country except your Home Country.
Hi sir, can you please tell me what type of subject we require to take in university. Because we need to take degree right so can you please tell me. Thankyou
Is it true that it is so difficult to find work as pilot?
Hi Mentour, What do you think of 43 airschool l. I'm thinking of taking IATPL there?
Yes of course want complete my school I wel be a pilot
Does having a university degree affect the job finding a lot? Do I still have some reasonable chances to get a job without it in an European airline company, like easyjet and similar?
hey what do i have to work on in school to become a successful pilot and i live in the UK could you recommend me something to help me become a better pilot in the future because i am currently 12 and want to learn a lot of things before i am unavailable to do so thanks sooo much:)
why is it often found that the captain is seated on left seat of the cockpit?
is it ok to choose math, physics, computer science, geography
Can you please send me the links or the internet websites for some self studies.. Coz i have always wished to be a pilot and its my duty to know something about it... Coz something is better than nothing
Sir. What about if you have a diploma certificate of general agriculture, can it be ok it be used as a backup in order to start airline pilot training?
hi mentour I want to get a 4 year degree on computers before starting my training is it relevant in the aviation field?
Let me start by saying I'm sure you've received numerous questions related to the topics I'm going to mention so I apologise if I could find this information elsewhere on your website/youtube page. Firstly, I'm sure many feel the exactly the same as me in that I'm very euthanistic about the aviation industry as a whole have no doubt it's the career path I will/hope to take, but I have some concerns about my personal ability to become a pilot. I guess I don't really have a specific question to ask you as I feel like I've explored all options regarding my situation and I am just unsure as to which path to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Let me start by saying I feel that intellectually I have dramatically improved since leaving high school, which is great, of course, but it has also meant my future ambition of becoming a pilot has been hindered as I did really quite poor in my GCSE's, meaning I do not have a level C or above in Mathematics or Science. Furthermore, my parents would not be able to financially support my training leaving me two options, I think? Either join the RAF to receive my training or work to fund my training. In order however to join the RAF I would need to complete my mathematics along with receiving a degree higher than 2:2. I am currently studying at university and have just completed my first year. I'm studying Quantity Surveying so it really isn't relevant to the industry.
Can you share the suitability test link please?
Thank You :)
i Always wanted to be pilot during my highschool am I too old for it now? 32 years old
What kind of subject should we take in 11th and 12th
What if a student has not passed science subject and have passed 12th commerce?!
I STILL WANT TO OPERATE AS A PILOT COMERCIALLY , AM FINISHING MY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DIPLOMA IN ABOUT 3 YRS AND AM GOING TO BE 46 WHEN I FINISH. CAN I STILL HOPE FOR COMMERCIAL FLYING OR CORPORATE PILOT ? OR IS IT TOO OLD ? MAYBE PRIVATE.
what if you leave school without any qualifications and flying is all you want to do how would you get into flying school then as not everybody leaves school with academic qualifications but want to fly as their chosen profession I'm asking this on behalf of my friend who as a son and daughter who both want to be pilots but left school without any qualifications although they did very well during their schooling but didn't take the exams as their teachers made a grave error by not submitting their names on time for their chosen exam subjects (this also happened to me in 1978 where the teacher put my name forward 24hrs to late)well that's the excuse the teacher gave also my mate wants to know what is the age limit for flight school
how old can you be to start flight trains?
