Been an TS fan since I saw him at NHIS in Indycar his rookie year.. I wish the both of them 1000% success , in their newest challenges! Tony waited along time for his mate, and she was well worth the wait! Both of them willl be awesome parents!
I've liked Tony since his first day at Gibbs Racing. He's always been a tough, smart racer, no matter what he races. It seems like he married his match! I wish them both t be best and most of luck on the future, especially with a little Tony.
I’ve been a fan of both for years. Pruett and Stewart, drag racing and NASCAR.
As far as the two sports are concerned, in NASCAR, the team prepares meticulously and the driver has a multitude of things to do and three hours to get it done. In NHRA, the team prepares meticulously and the driver has a multitude of things to do in three seconds.

Tony has a full season in the A/Fuel car and finished second to Julie Nataas for the World Championship. He had the best average reaction times of anyone in the class. Other than the violent, unrelenting acceleration of Top Fuel, it drives exactly like the injected nitro cars. Plus he has a LOT of runs in Leah's car. Enough that he could have earned his Top Fuel license several years ago.
Tony's got 1 of the best rides in NHRA--his cars are pretty good ,too !!

Only people who consider this a big announcement are those nascar fans who think drag racing is a joke. Tony’s been very vocal that he’s enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of drag racing
You are correct, but add sportsmanship in the NHRA that does not exist in NASCAR. If a low buck NHRA team blows and engine but wins a round, other racing teams will lend parts and technicians to help the low buck team race another round, even if the teams that lent help have to face them in the next round. And NHRA drivers do not get into fist fights with their competitors like they do in NASCAR.

Not sure that Top Fuel is too relaxed. so much money riding on winning and losing.
@@matzrat5006 it’s a different vibe than NASCAR. You wouldn’t see a nascar driver in someplace like the Zoo in Brainerd interacting and drinking with fans. Just how they interact with fans in the pits shows the difference

Everyone in the NHRA signs autographs! Unlike NASCAR, when you go to an NHRA event, every ticket is a pit pass. You can watch teams at work. Get to the track on Friday, and you have time to meet hundreds of drivers.

@@brianreynoldson1965Leah's Top Fuel accelerates from 0 to 330+ mph in 3.6 seconds over the distance of 1000 feet. A driver experiences twice the g-force astronauts felt during the lift-off of the space shuttle. Three times negative g-force when you pull the parachute to stop.
Still, being a dad is daunting! Leah isn't pregnant yet, and she's young and plans to return to the seat after they have a kid or two. Tony will be busy!!

This news was from like a month ago, nothing new here. Tony joined the many who know that NASCAR is failing at this point and he can have fun running single laps. Like Rick Ware, Tony will guide his loyal sponsors toward other avenues of exposure, its the latest trend in cross-over racing sponsorship. My news to you would have been a better video than the refried beans you're selling here.
NASCAR isn't failing, only thing thats failing, is old stock fans. if you don't like it anymore, thats up to you. It's gone world wide. People love it. Ive been a huge fan since 1964, loved it then and still love it. Changes happen, just like in life.
@@matzrat5006NASCAR has gotten too expensive for team owners and the new TV package isn't going to do fans any favors. This is the first time in decades the awards banquet wasn't broadcast live on network TV.
I'm a lifelong drag racer, but enjoy NASCAR. There are simply better options.
@@garyjackson3531 i love both and have been watching both and still drag race. Nascar now has a world wide fan base Gary. If you have better options, take them. Nascar will always be there . Ive been a huge fan since 1964, still love it. if you don't so be it.
@matzrat5006 Drag racing is worldwide as well. Was just mourning the death of Paula Murphy, one of the greats. Because of her STP ties, she drove Richard Petty's car to a closed circuit record. She was in England in the early 60's promoting the NHRA, and was the first woman to earn a Funny Car license, back when they were extremely dangerous. She was a pioneer.
Anyhow, Julie Nataas, who beat out Tony Stewart for the World Championship this year, is from Norway. Her dad was the European Top Fuel Champion.
Speaking of Europe, the same day Tony and Leah made their announcement, it was announced that 2023 European Top Fuel Champion Ida Zetterstrom would be competing in Top Fuel in the NHRA. She will be teamed with 8-time Top Fuel World Champion Tony Schumacher.
Over the years numerous international drivers have competed in the NHRA in the United States. In fact it's common.
Drag racing is huge in the Middle East. The ruling family of Qatar has fielded teams in the NHRA for years. The Prince used to attend a lot of races.
The NHRA may not be as "big" as NASCAR, but it is the world's largest sanctioning body.
@@garyjackson3531 yes in Europe NHRA is very popular. and really should be, do you watch their top fuel bikes , they are crazy rockets. i love the races from England, so many vintage little english cars. so different than our cars.
