  • Going to a Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, is a whole different experience from sitting down at an old-fashioned American steakhouse. Churrascarias offer an all-you-can-eat experience, generally, with waiters carrying skewers of meat to your table repeatedly until you give them the signal to stop.
The meat itself is often different, too, with picanha, Brazil's signature steak derived from the sirloin cap, as the star of the show. On top of that, there's usually chicken, pork, lamb, a massive salad bar, and other traditional Brazilian dishes. Sounds pretty good, right? Well, if you've never been to one, any of these restaurants would be a great place to start. These are the absolute best Brazilian steakhouses in the U.S.

I've been to Na Brasa brazilian steak house about 4 times.... The Rodigzio is INCREDIBLE! AND their Mac n Cheese is slamming.
Na Brasa is by far the best food I've ever eaten.
    They serve
    ~ Sirloin
    ~ Beef Ribs
    ~ Filet Mignon
    ~ Leg of lamb(incredible!)
    ~ Garlic Steak
    ~ Lamb Chops
    ~ Parmesan Pork
    ~ Flank Steak (incredible)
    ~ Chicken wrapped in Bacon
~ Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon
    ~ Grilled Salmon
And every month they serve a monthly meat. When I went in July it was ~ Alligator.
    Oh so yummy.

You can find many family-owned-and-operated churrascarias in any city that has a Brazilian population that are much cheaper and every bit as good when I'm in Boston with my friend we go to Oliveira's in Somerville live entertainment spectacular choices at the salad bar fantastic meats and much less costly than these overpriced famous chain churrascarias

They also attempt to fill you up on the cheaper cuts of meat first. I’ve noticed that at the beginning they tend to offer more chicken and pork. Then cheaper beef like pihcana (sirloin) I’ve always had to request them to bring over the more expensive things like lamb chops, ribeye etc…

My wife and I went to Churrascaria Plataforma in NYC, it’s not worth it. Firstly, their selection lacked variety as much as it lacked quality. From the time you walk in the manager is observing all the tables being served and will not signal the meats to come out until every table has something from the market table. In other words, you won’t be served any churrascó (meat) until your table has some plates full of the market table servings. This is so ridiculous, I don’t even know if a word to describe it.
From their market table the only item worth consuming was the bean soup with the pig shanks - it was delicious. That’s about the only positive feedback I have of this place. A hard pass!!!

It's "FOGO DE 'SHOWN' " NOT "SHOW"!!!! Geez I wish people would actually LEARN to pronounce PORTUGUESE correctly instead of trying to "fudge it" with their Spanish, Italian or other LATIN language EXCEPT FRENCH! One good thing about FRENCH is its completely distinct vocabulary and accent makes it completely incomprehensible as a language to use as a "fudger" for its Latin based sisters.
