I thought I would never likeva granny square sweater. Having grown up in the 60's I always picture bright garish sweaters. Your prairie squares is gorgeous. I just put it in my favoutites. Yes it is too warm to weat knit wear. 30 C here today.

So been waiting for the Emba episode 😍🤣👍
Yes, you have a really different schedule over there 😳 Here in 🇨🇭breeders aren‘t allowed to give you the puppies till 10 weeks, they really need their mums (I know English-speaking countries see this differently) and we get them fully chipped and vaccinated at that point. This means my English Cocker spaniel puppy has been going to knit night, cafés/restaurants, shops, parks, on our boat etc. since she was 10 weeks old, you can imagine she has lots of human friends, she was also super cute and cuddly like Embla 🐶❤ We also got to practice walking on a lead from the start and meeting other dogs (carefully). I was also fortunate to have a lot of time for Merry as a pup and she‘s my shadow (she‘s 5 now), we do everything together. The only place she is ok waiting for me is her crate in the car, at home she fusses and waits right behind the door, even if my husband is home, very tragic 🤣 So really sorry to hear you‘ve been so isolated for so long 😮
Obligatory puppy class (we register our dogs and pay an annual dog tax) is weekly from 12-16 weeks for socialising, information and some basic introduction to commands, like kindergarten for puppies and you get a certificate for the tax office.
The jumper is really cool, too 🤣🧶

Love that you have Obligatory puppy classes in your country. I imagine it makes some difference. Unfortunately so many people get dogs and don’t bother with any training. I love having a well trained dog. My current dog has anxiety issues and I think the training has really made a difference to her. She knows she can trust me to look after her in all situations and her anxiety has decreased. In my country 8 weeks is the age we are aloud to take our puppies home. 10 weeks is probable a better age. 🇨🇦

I love schnauzers. My younger son bred his for three litters. My brother bought one of these. When we lost our yorkie my husband and I decided we were too old to start again. A friend brought usva 4 yesr old mini schnauzer. We had her for many yesrs when she gotba serious kidney disease andvafter spending several thousand doloars, finally decided to put her down. So no dog for us now. Mini schnauzers are great and Embla is do cute. Luvky you.

Adorable baby! She looks so much like my older Schnoodle Daisy Baggins, when she was a puppy. Adorable! I got my younger dog, Freya Jane, a few years after my husband passed away, and I had to bring her up on my own. I had Daisy and my old boy, Pippin, so three Schnoodles at the same time.. it was bananas! I was a campaign lead in an election at that time, and had to bring Freya into the campaign office, and her a little collapsible crate, for the first two weeks that I had her. She became known as campaign puppy. People were thrilled when they came into the campaign office and saw this little puppy. So proud to be a dog mama.!

Your puppy is so cute!!!! My dog ate my ChiaoGoo cord when she was a puppy. So disappointing, but now every time I pull it out I remember those wonderful puppy times. I just can’t throw that cable out! What is it about German Shepherd’s that makes small dogs bark. My son’s dog, a toy poodle, use to always bark at German Shepherd’s whenever I walked her. My Golden Retriever and I use to look at each other in disbelief. She no longer does that so there is hope for you. When I heard about your crochet/knit sweater I immediately told myself that I would not be making it. Then I saw it and fell in love! I am hoping to knit it in the fall with wool that I have been saving for a few years. I found your conversation on the sleeves very interesting and I will be following your instructions on all of my sweaters. Thanks for a very enjoyable podcast! ❤

Another puppy comment. Several family puppies teethed my wooden knitting needles. They particularly liked bamboo. You think I would have learned after the first puppy.

I'm also always changing the way of knitting arms at top-down-things in this way too. It just both looks and fits so much better especially with oversized garments.

I'm wondering what you think about cuff circumferences for various standard sleeve sizes? I find myself having to modify so many sleeves, not just because I have short arms, but because I have small wrists (6.25" circumference) and prefer a store-bought-style fitted cuff. The sleeve of an XS store-bought sweater generally fits my arms fine, so I can't figure out why the smallest or second-smallest size of a typical knitting pattern is *always* too long in the sleeve and too loose in the wrist. I've so far adapted to this by starting the sleeve decreases earlier and omitting the "knit straight" part of the top sleeve... now I'm wondering if that's the right approach, given what you say here. I generally find that my sleeves are too tight in the upper forearm actually, when I've started rapidly decreasing so that I can get a reasonable cuff circumference (and yet they're often still loose in the lower forearm). Maybe I just need to measure some of my store-bought sweaters and figure this out mathematically...
