    Great info, bought used Elantra with missing engine splash shield. This helped me finding all the necessary bolts and screw.

    Thank you soooo much! Makes a real difference to see the bottom plate off. Unfortunately, 3 of my 6 10mm bolts sheared but the clips and remaining three are in tact. Oiled the three when replaced into frame to prevent further freezing n shearing.

      The instant oil change air ratchet trick eh? I have one 10 mm bolt sheared & one missing, there really is no reason for these breaking other than over torqueing... I put anti seize on servicing everything under the vehicle (as well as above).
      This seems to be the only video explaining the panel.

    Pretty good video but you want to open the filler cap so you create an air passage and it will drain quickly and smoothly and I use Mobil 1 full synthetic with an oem oil filter do not use aftermarket filters that engine has knocking issues in cold climates and the OEM filter gives best flow

    • @diegod7741
      @diegod7741  Před 3 lety +1

      Opening the filler cap gets over looked to often . Thanks for tip

    The plastic shield looks like a hassle. But if you do a full synthetic with a good filter, car will be good for 7,500 miles or a year. Maybe more.

    • @diegod7741
      @diegod7741  Před 5 lety +1

      Jorge GRAU yea , actually the video was going to be about how much of a hassle that shield was. But i guess plans changed and it became a shitty “how-to”.

    • @jorgegrau8323
      @jorgegrau8323 Před 5 lety +1

      When or if I do my oil change, it is going to be synthetic. I read that the shield is for aerodynamics as well as protection because car is so low. I could do a 1999 Mazda oil change without any jacks as it was high enough.

      Update: mechanic did an oil change and apparently forgot to put splash shield back on. Either in June or a year prior. I still have to ask them what happened. All of the screws are gone, also. So It didn't fall off. The whole purpose of getting an oil change was because of that shield. Now I could do it myself easily. But it is not safe to go around like this, so I need to get another shield. I could feel that the AC had to work harder in super hot conditions. Others say the shield helps with cooling generally and aerodynamics/efficiency.

    Anyone know why everywhere you search for the oil capacity for this vehicle it says 414.23 quart's? Pretty sure i can't even fit that much oil in the car in their bottles.

      @@diegod7741 I finally found it it's 4.23 quarters like i thought. I'm still trying to figure out why it says 414.23 when you google search (2015 Hyundai Elantra oil capacity) every dam site has it listed as 414.23.

      @diegod7741  Před 5 lety +2

      well to be honest, if it was my car id leave it off. but its my wifes car so i put it back for her peace of mind. but it does take longer than actually "changing" the oil.

    • @one4allall4one91
      @one4allall4one91 Před 5 lety +3

      I did some research. It seem like a brilliant idea. Put in full synthetic oil which is said to last 7,500. So that equals 6 month oil changes instead 3.
