Eh not exactly, for the rating requirements GM is 2500, IM is 2400, FM and WGM are 2300, CM and WIM are 2200, WFM is 2100, WCM is 2000. Additionally, GM, IM, WGM, and WIM have some additional norm requirements.

We call players who are 2700+ Super Grandmasters but it’s not an official title.
A norm is a high level of performance in a chess tournament. For exemple, to get a GM norm, you have to play in a tournament of at least 9 rounds, your performance rating must be minimum 2600, 1/3 of your opponents must be GMs, 1/2 must have a FIDE titles and you must play players from at least three federations.

Are the titles based on your current rating, or are they unlocked once and then you hold them for life? What happens if you are WFM and drop below 2100? Do you become WCM?
Also, can a woman get the regular GM title, if she fulfills the criteria?

Yeah so the titles are divided to open (both for men and women) and just exclusive women’s titles, once a title is obtained it’s kept for life and only revoked in rare cases like cheating, for example you can hit 2200 on the nose and then plummet back down to 2000, you’ll still be a CM

Women aren't necessarily less capable, it's just that men can reach higher peaks, an example being the current candidates tournament:
Highest rated female player- 2550 elo
Lowest rated male player- 2680

National Master; it's a regional title

NM is regional title that is given to you by the chess federation of your country. This video is showcasing all the FIDE titles which are international titles regardless of where you are from.

Back in days no women allowed to play chess (I know It weren't exactly forbidden but technically women had no chance ). Because of that there's a smaller pool of women at the top skill levels. (15% now). So, International chess federation thought introduce WOMEN chess title to encourage female players. They just achieved that titles competing in the women's pool. They can still compete for the regular GM title if they reach the higher ELO required.

In theory, there shouldn’t be a gulf in ability in chess between a normal man and woman. These titles are implemented to incentivise more women to play the game. In an ideal world, absolutely women’s titles shouldn’t exist, but we are far from an ideal point for chess equality yet unfortunately
