- If you have an S2000 you know how terrible the factory stereo is and that there is next to nothing that you can do to modernize it without cutting the dash. This is the Joying 8.8" Android head unit with wired android auto and wireless apple CarPlay. With a slight modification to the factory brackets, this fits perfectly!
This unit has some downfalls but nothing on how much better this looks and performs over any other single din option.

FYI you don't need to do holes on the stereo. I didn't make holes just put them on the sides and worked perfect lol holes are there already 😅
You can hook up the dash controls by connecting the KEY1 cable on the radio to Pin3 on the car. The radio has a built in app to reprogram the dash controls

Since I have an AP1 with no rear speakers, I just borrowed one of the pins for my rear speaker on my harness (Metra 70-1721) and moved it over to where Pin3 would be. Connect the Pin3 wire to the KEY1 wire. If you have rear speakers, you'll need to supply a new wire and pin to Pin3. Connect all the other wires and plug the radio into the car harness.

Yeah that’s a good idea! I thought it was going to be more of an issue as far as glares and reflections but I really have no complaints with this unit especially now since my dash controls work. If you decide to go for this in yours you will love it! Thanks for watching
Magnet can caused your LCD display colors to distorted overtime.
@Be Good Thats a good point. After using it for a while now, I am perfectly fine with where it sits but I might get creative with it.
What kind of speakers and tweeters are you running?
Can you link a iso connector I can use for this install instead of cutting the one provided!?
I don’t know of one This is how I’ve always installed head units unless they are made specifically for a vehicle. As long as I don’t have to cut any factory wires then I just run with it.

What door speakers do you have? Sounds really good!
Thanks! The door speakers are Boston acoustics that came with when I bought the car. Way better than stock but will be upgrading at some point. They are also being ran off an amp which helps a lot. The biggest help with sound quality was the skar audio tweeters.

If I add the reverse camera, will it come with the din?
Yes when you go to order the stereo it gives you the option to add a reverse camera.

Hey, where did you wire the backup camera wire through?
I believe there was a rubber grommet in the center below the bottom trunk latch that I fed the wires through. You’ll have the pop the plastic trim off to see it. Then I fed the wire behind the trunk liner and under the center console up to the back of the head unit. If you have led license plate lights and have the cam mounted about the plate, it’s going to wash out the image from the camera so it’ll either have to be relocated or put a little hood over it to block the light. Only an issue with the lights on.
Hello, where did you mount your GPS antenna? I didn’t see you saw it in the video.
I never hooked it up since I was going to be using android auto or CarPlay for maps. If you choose to use the antenna I would probably put it under the passenger dash so it’s not seen. It’ll more than likely work keeping it behind the stereo but may have some interference getting a good signal. Best would be on top of the dash but aesthetically that wouldn’t be pleasing imo.
@@FRS2K oh but here I thought you need the GPS antenna for CarPlay to work. I got an iPhone. So you telling me i don’t need to hook that up and Waze still work on the screen?
@stackzbundle it’ll work because it’s using the gps off your phone. If you wanted to use the standard gps that is on the stereo, you would need the antenna. Apple Maps and Waze is going to be a million times better. You’ll honestly never use the factory user interface unless you forgot your phone.

@@SevenOhFour that’s awesome! So to me it totally depends on what you want out of the car. Most people will tell you to keep it stock especially with the value continue to rise on them. The way I look at it is do you plan on keeping it or have intentions of selling it down the line….I personally do whatever it is that I truly want. If I want to widebody a car it doesn’t matter how rare it is I do it. If that makes sense. We do crazy things all the time and people question it all the time but at the end of the day it’s what we want not what they think is best

does this work with your steering wheel controls?
@Jay An I don't have mine wired up yet but there is no reason why it wouldn't. Not sure if the modifry or the axxess harness would be best. Someone had commented that it can be wired up so I will look into that.

Just insatl qualety speakers and an aux/bluetooth adabter and youll be fine. Why would you install a screen in an s2000???? Just looks awful man.
Nice vid and awesome bike. Ive been trying to boycott china and it's products so even though this unit looks decent, probably won't pick it up. Wish the USA would actually make stuff again.

I bought an S2k specifically because it doesn’t have any screens 🙂.
I do love the simplicity and driver focus that s2000’s have but when you drive 15k+ a year in one, CarPlay and a backup camera are real nice!
