On the other hand, for a large animal the amount really isn’t all that much. It’s probably not very comfortable, but by far the most gentle and safe way to tranquilize an animal that needs medical care or for some other reason has human interaction that can be highly dangerous and stressful for both parts

Well I suggest a rifle with a muzzle brake because it creates a significant enough shockwave to displace the water, while also being able to film very close/ tight shots of it happening...also rigging an artificial rainstorm would be cheap, and you could easily control the water pressure/intensity for different effects. Either way, I think it would be awesome to watch at like 27K FPS
