The reason for the "flow holes" is to allow air to replace the liquid coming through the tip. Otherwise, no liquid would flow into the tip cause only vacuum could fill the capsule.

It's mostly Gav's doing since he edits the videos.
It honestly took a couple videos to notice that the slomo object audio is generally added in post. Obviously the ambient music is added too, but they add noises to the impacts, and even slow them down/speed them up with the footage. Makes it more immersive than silent collisions would. Pretty well thought out

When I was a small child and watched these videos I didn’t understand that the sound during slowmo was a song and just assumed that was what slow sounded like.
And an art of music it is.
You can feel the same kind of music when you're high on cannabis or related substance and you reach trance. It seems it is the sound of silence. Like these are some frequencies which we believe we hear but maybe our brain is mapping the frequency in the silent environment and those frequencies may sound like sound but they're actually frequencies
@@beli3ver Sound is frequencies. Sound is waves in the air, and waves have frequency. It's just funky music they use for the slow-mo shot, as well as the music you apparently trip out to.

Was at a party few weeks ago. People wrote their name on their cups so they wouldn't lose it. At some point someone tried to write their name but no ink would come out, so I offered to fixe it by shaking the marker using centrifugal force. Without the cap on it... And it was perm marker.
Needless to say it got all over my face, her jacket, the window and the windowsill.
If only I saw this video earlier.
Protip: you can get permanent marker out with rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer.

I think the artists have a new art project idea. Honestly, just getting a cheap pack of crayola markers, and then spinning them on a drill. That would make some cool abstract art.

The one they did that ended up making a line looked really striking to me. Like you eviscerated a clown and that was the gore that came spewing out of them. Very cool looking.

I can see this being used as some kind of hyperspace effect in a science fiction film. The darker region where more colors blended together looks like a curve in the "space tunnel."

I think it's not for the pressure but for the vacuum it creates
I thought about emergency, when someone swallows the pen, then you can still breathe through the holes. I know they do that to the caps, not sure about the pens though.
Johann Kemp that’s what he’s talking about. The vacuum causes a differential in pressure so ambient air pressure pushes the ink into the pen (unless you include vents). Vacuums functionally cause pressure.

For anyone interested: I did some research, and the holes are there so the ink can flow freely.
