For anyone wondering: 500ml milk 50g cornstarch 50g sugar 1 cup coconut shred Thank you for this recipe! I’m gonna try it later. (Measurements from her website)
@@KC-xn4okThe clear water that comes out of a coconut is coconut juice. Coconut milk is made from blending coconut flesh AND the juice together. The comment above is talking about coconut milk from the supermarket, not what comes out of fresh coconuts.
In the Philippines, we have something similar called Maja Blanca. Same cooking process but the difference is that we put corn kernels and cream of corn. Instead of shredded coconut we put grated cheese on top or latik (which is coconut milk cooked until the coconut oil separated from the browned milk). Yummy!
😮😮😮 I love philipines! I was there 5yr ago and had this purple jelly thing on a bus ride.. wish I knew the name 😂 it was so tasty, a young kid was selling it on the bus
Tiffy! I made some of your recipes for dinner for my fiancé the other night and he loved it so much his dad call me the next day saying we should hurry up and have kids 😂
Oo that looks cool! Need to make sure your cornstarch isnt cross-contaminated with gluten during production though, i found that out from my friend who gets ill from gluten
In Poland we make it with egg yolks, potato starch, a touch of vanilla and a bit of butter. It's supposed to be creamy, not solid, served warm with raspberry syrup. It's my childchood dessert! Love it. It's called budyn.
Ive always thought coconut was such a delicious food to eat! There various recipes that contain coconut and they always turn out so delicious! Hopefully im able to try this!
in Spain the cubes are coated in flour and dipped in egg, then lightly fried and coated in sugar and cinammon,it is a national dessert called "Leche frita" (fried milk) and if you dont have any issue with your calories intake,it takes the four simple ingredients to a whole new level😋😋
Yaaaaas, I'm mexican but I love leche frita. It kinda feels like spain gatekept it from us 😛because it's not popular in here at all but it is truly phenomenal.
This in our country -egypt- called mahalabia it's a A mixture that we put in dishes and decorate it with coconut and eat it or make rice with milk from it or add it to desserts, including kunafa, really a wonderful thing
In Spain, we have a similar thing called "leche frita" (translates to fried milk) but instead of covering it with coconut we batter the pieces and fry them. Here you have an example: czcams.com/video/11zWeFKWelM/video.html
There's no flavour here. What about adding vanilla or cinnamon or any other spices? A Chai teabag? Cocoa? Coconut milk? A pinch of salt too to balance the sweetness.
@@kpopaura2224 just not worth it, I dont have all my stomach and insides so everything goes through quickly so I start feeling sick straight away before the rest of symptoms bloom. Xx
Update: it did not stick at all, and it’s amazing. I added vanilla essence, little bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in mine and substituted the coconut flakes for almond flakes 🥰 Thank you Tiffany! I’ll be making this for my family too
That kind of dessert very popular in Mexico, we drink it liquid and called it atole de maizena or corn starch, or live it more solid and we called Jamoncillo ❤
I made this, for some reason no matter how long I put it in the fridge, it wouldn’t turn into the result shown in the video. Personal opinion: it tasted like milk with cornstarch.
This is one of my grandma’s favourite recipes!! It’s been in our generation for years!! I usually like to eat it as soon as it gets off the stove with come cinnamon but illl try this next time!
I knew a friend who made something like this in bakery school. But he dipped the cubes in egg was and then bread crumbs and fried them and sprinkled them with cinnamon and sugar. He called it Leche Frita(fried milk) and it is a sweet dessert from Spain.
Have you ever tried Milk Pudding?? 🤔
tiffycooks.com/milk-pudding-4-ingredients-only/
No because I don’t like milk 😢 I used to drink it a lot as a kid but now that I’m an adult I don’t drink it anymore due to reasons lol 😂
yes but i fried them while coated with batter, it was soooo delicious
Can you use an alternative to cornstarch please?
Just wondering if it can be any type of milk like 2% or homo milk?
What if we not use coconut for coated? it's okay?
Girl do this w coconut milk cinnamon n vanilla you got tembleque, puerto rican coconut pudding ❤
Puerto Rican Pudding Is "BUENO"!!!!!😋😋😋
Sounds delicious, I’ll have to try this 😊
YUM ill have to give that a try!
Tembleque🎉
Yes!! I've made it with a pinch of cardamom too. Yum.

ok but that beginning though...make that face again lol
how long did the mixing take
@@tiffyycookscan we store it in the fridge if we are not consuming it immediately?
I really recommend using COCONUT milk instead of regular milk. Using coconut milk gives it more flavor. Just recommending you all!😊
Yeah I agree.
Stop calling it coconut milk. It's just coconut juice
Will try this
Would it be same measurement as normal milk?

Puree strawberries or any fresh/frozen fruits. This recipe is highly adaptable and yummy!

Yeah, it doesn't set, I just did it last night and its still a gelatinous blob lol
@Krymea, how about lactose free milk?
Maybe coconut - if that doesn't work there are lots of coconut mochi style recipes online too
its called "muhallebi" in turkey one of my fav dessert
I am from Japan. My mum used to make this with Kinako(soy bean powder).
Better coz healthier 👍
Depending on the stovetop you have the time can differ. I got scared when 10min passed and nothing happened. It finally thickened around 15-20min. 👍
Yeah, me too, but I just watched a show and stirred it every so often
Yeah I had the same experience I got scared when it never thickened but it eventually did😅
Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I got so scared that I did something wrong because it has not yet thickened
I have been mixing it for the last 20 minutes and nothing changed…
It didn’t thicken for me and I mixed it for like 6 to 8 minutes
You can also coat the cubes in flour, egg wash and breadcrumbs. Then fry it. It’s a typical Spanish dessert !
Leche frita?

Looks good! I bet it would be great with caramel sauce or chocolate sauce drizzled on it. Cheers Tiffy!!!
In Malaysia, instead of coconut shred we use milk or soy milk powder instead for that extra milk punch 😃
We have Maja Blanca here in the Philippines - coconut milk, sugar, cornstarch, corn, and cheese on top!
Yummy! 😍🤤
The way it jiggle makes me giggle
Tried it…..do NOT miss out!!! So jiggly and yummy😊
Can I add something else to increase the flavour

Think ill substitute the milk n sugar for condensed milk, and the other half of the milk for coconut milk and add cinnamon and vanilla 🥰 Yummmmmoooo 😊
How did it come out? Cause that's exactly what I did and it didn't set 😅
Crazy my mom used to make this for me as a comfort snack when I was little bit with cinnamon ❤

In the German speaking countries that is called "Pudding". It's made exactly this way, plus you add flavor (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or else)
In Serbia too
Coconut milk can be used, mango, frozen fruits, chocolate or Coco powder and it's delicious 😋

Love your clothing style, Tiff!
I'd add some green cardamom powder to that 😋
Yes I make it with caramom
My grandmother adds crumbled cashews and almonds on top of it , that kinda makes it taste better
