I noticed my hair became easier to style when I stopped shampooing it every day. Now I only do it 2-3 times a week. Getting the right comb is also essential. Great vid as always, thanks!
I dont know if you are reading these comments or not but i just wanna say that this channel changed my life,style...and they way i see the world.....just wanted to say thank you. all my respect !
As a barber I can tell you Antonio you nailed it as usual. but I might add keep more than one type of brush. Everyone prior to shampooing their hair should use a nice strong boar bristle brush to vigorous brush thru their hair to get to the scalp and "exercise the scalp". keep all hair brushes clean at all times, wash them in hot water and bleach solution along with any combs you may use. Any brushes or combs you use after applying product should be rinsed afterwards and never share your brushes or combs with anyone! 💈
Lol, I've been brushing my hair with a Gillette razor for many years now. My hairline did a "to the rear, march" right around 22 years old. It's all good. Bald is beautiful.
I've heard that brush is pretty rough on the hair, though. But hey, if it's not on your head, it might be easier to style and see from different angles! :)
It doesnt just come from your mothers side, its a mix of both sides and still pretty much a genetic lottery. I have baldness all throughout both sides of my family and I somehow still have all my hair at 27, although both my younger brothers started going bald at 18-19.
Antti Kiviniemi how come my brother has a full head of hair and I'm totally bald! Same with some of my uncles and dad. 5 boys in his family 3 are bald and 2 are not. They all have the same parents
I've got fairly short hair at the moment, when longer I think it counts as thin and straight; but right now, what I find most useful is a nail brush. Yep ... I find that to be the best one right now. However, I'm going for a bit of an experiment: I've not used shampoo for about two or three years, and now I want to see if I can grow it long and not have it greasy, just by washing with cold(ish) water and brushing regularly, at least once a day. This video was very handy in suggesting what type of brush to get :)
Your right! Not knowing your hair type is one of the many reasons why people lose their hair to hair brushes both men and women.Am looking forward to sharing this video with a couple of friends, thnks.👍
Awesomeeee. I have been using the same hair brush for the past 3 years. No wonder i am not able to change my hairstyle. Will check out the infographic and get a new one soon 😁👍🏾
What, Georg, you calling him fat? ;) But same here, my slightly-messy hairstyle has not required a brush. I've been wanting to go slightly less messy, however, so perhaps I'll give a brush a shot to see if it makes it easier. Which it probably does.
Hello Antonio.... Great video with many helpful tips. I am having straight thin hairs. Currently I use either a pocket comb or hand to give it wavy look but after 1 or 2 hrs my hairs start falling on my forehead. Please give suggestions for this.
Antonio, I just wanted to tell you that because of you i know how to dress properly, Im 27 and i didnt want to dress like a teenager anymore, i started watching your channel and now im almost always wearing a sport coat dark jeans, and other things that i didnt really see attractive before. I feel like a real man now and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
I have short thick curly wavy hair. I've simply used my fingers for lack of knowing any better. This is good and thorough information that I can use to experiment with the correct brush now.
I think I have similar hair once it starts growing out. I try to keep it shorter for simplicity.....but I'm struggling to manage it as it gets longer. I've always finger brushed.
I'm definetly looking into a military palm brush now. Always felt I needed a better brush - and now I might consider washing with cold water now too - thank you for the video!
When styling your hair, use a pre styler (leave in conditioner, mouse, light hairproduct) and your brush of choice to build volume then use your hairproduct to sculpt your hair to the desired style.
Somehow; I can't imagine you having a bad hair day ... I've been using the military round comb for thirty years and its always worked better than others; but I have short to mid length coiled hair ...
OMG JUST THE VIDEO THAT I NEEDED. I have curly hair and is such a pain to brush it, I always carry a hairbrush with me and i brush it every hour😂 thanks Antonio :)
Been using the pocket comb for like 5 or maybe ten years.. and it was never made for my long wavy. This is just great. Like I'd never known that I could be using better product so thanks a lot Antonio for researching all of this and then explain it as simplest as possible.
Antonio a wide tooth comb works great for wavy and curly hair. I've read that people with wavy and curly hair should only use their fingers or a wide tooth comb and avoid fine tooth combs and brushes.
Just a simple note about the sponge It's a real nice tool for getting those natural textured looks and works great with mid to long hair. Can use it wet or dry with wet hair or dry hair but I find it works better on wet hair with a nice curl enhance cream
hey I been using the right brush...and my opinion is you sampoo and conditions with hot/worm water and rise with cold water before getting out of the shower...
Well most men still with the same hair style , I'm one of them. but after this video I'm thinking of changing my style. and as usual so many useful info. and it's new for me.
I saw the title and I thought "what more could I do about brushing my hair other than what I already am." and I was pleasantly surprised by how much new info there was
should read the article. really helpful. shocked knowing my frequency using conditioners and shampoo is reversed. and i am using wrong hair products for my type of hair
I personally use hair tonic - Clubman Eau De Quinine - pretty old school but it seems to do my hair some good and has a great fragrance. I don't like "bed head" in the morning, so I just get a bit of this on and give a quick brush with my Kent hairbrush (actual boar bristle brush). I'll also put a little on at bed time to stay smelling fresh.
I have been using the enterly wrong air brush no wonder I couldn't get my hair knots out easily so I can get the right hairbrush to help get it in control and the knots out
Okay, I'll be honest Mr. Centeno; the thumbnail was hilarious!! By the way, I subscribed and got your book "Seven Deadly Style Sins", and following it now. The result has been really positive.
Epic. While I could not get from your embedded video in the article at RMRS to CZcams directly, I took the time to indirectly navigate here to compliment your work. I have mostly been reading your articles and watching your videos about formal dress shoes lately. So, I was surprised when I discovered that you discussed Hair topics too. Then, I was down right impressed when your content was exponentially more educational than the information I found via so-called Hair Industry resources. Thank You for your thoroughness Antonio -- I look forward to learning more!
Sorry for straying but have you covered the untuck it shirt on your channel? Keep seeing commercials for them on TV. In case you don't know, they're basically button-down shirts. But shorter in length so they're meant to be worn untucked. A casual take on the traditional button down shirt I guess. What are your thoughts???

Real Men Real Style Hey Antonio today is my wedding day. Thanks for this video. I rushed to the store to buy the brushes you recommended this morning. What a difference! Thanks :)
MGdrive I have the same haircut as you and before every shower is use a natural boar bristle military brush on my scalp to remove dead skin . and any dirt that might be there. plus it feels great!
My hair style varies in length between 1,5 to 4-5 inches and I never use a brush. Haven't found any reason to, actually. Maybe I should give it a try sometime.

Use a Miitary palm brush or hair brush sponge. They require much more maintenance since they can look fuzzy and unkempt after some time. Dryness and shrinkage may also be serious problems if you’re not careful.
Hey, Antonio, I think you outdid yourself on this Video!! do you have any Tips for receding/thinning Hair? It's not at the Point where I consider shaving it off completely, but I have Difficulties finding a good Product and Style. Thanks as always.
Wow I never realized there is so much options. Like you said I have one comb since... ever and never thought about changing it. I always thought that comb is all I need and that all those "fancy brushes" are for girls :D.
Thanks! Also great job on the music! I've seen a few of your old videos and I liked the content but the lacking in music every once in awhile was definitely missing. Awesome job!!!
Yeah make sense to explore new stuff, I usually go natural in casual, barely gel product and fingers instead of brush but when I do try to look sharp I use a regular comb.
Hi Antonio, this might not be your usual topic but do you have any advice on reputable sources for women's fashion and jewelry. I would like to gain more knowledge to help buy appropriate gifts for girlfriend. thanks for putting out great content, it's helped me a lot!
cheers, it literally came about when I was looking at Amazon prime sales, but I had no idea what I was looking at to know if I was getting a good or bad deal
A, thanks for the get back! And as you videoed, I don't know if I'm using the right weapon of destruction...my lovely wife cuts my locks and she says my hairs kinda medium thick/medium thin, longish...I have used a 'Marvy Invigorator,' a green 'Stanley' rat-tail-sorta nylon bristle and, the fingers...I'll bet a lot of guys use whatever mama might have in her collection!
Antonio i don't know what type of hair I have I can grow it up to a flat top haircut but sometimes it turns circle but it's thick and fought at times how can I know what type of hair I have ?
Okay I have a problem here, I have coiled hair but I have absolutely no problem brushing my hair with standard combs, it goes through it like butter. The problem is it doesn't help me style my hair, my hair just naturally pops right back into the original shape. My problem with the video then is that the video focused on whether or not the brush would go smoothly through the hair but it really doesn't help me at all (and I'm sure many others feel the same).
He's done some of those, but the thing is his mantra is that you should dress your best no matter where you are, so his casual looks are more casual +.
When I shampoo my hair, I can see few hair on my palm.some hair are grown. But some are little growing ones. Is it okay to lose those little growing hair??
That was again helpful like always sir. Sir how about you come up with Gentleman or Chivalry topic and make some series of it ? I mean it will help many people to correct their behavior or habits or way of walking or talking. :)
I noticed my hair became easier to style when I stopped shampooing it every day. Now I only do it 2-3 times a week. Getting the right comb is also essential. Great vid as always, thanks!
Sounds like I should film another video.
Kinetic Vibe Ive tried to do that but my hair just feels too oily and heavy
@@TheGambit644 you should still wash it properly
I only do it once a week.
I dont know if you are reading these comments or not but i just wanna say that this channel changed my life,style...and they way i see the world.....just wanted to say thank you. all my respect !
You rock Andrei - thanks! Comments like this make my day. Have a great week ahead.

YES - I should have been more clear but you are right. Own a variety and use them for various styles!
hey Russ, i need some advice, with u help.
I always carry around a pocket comb so I can fix my hair if it gets messed up. I have short, straight, thick hair.
Lol, I've been brushing my hair with a Gillette razor for many years now. My hairline did a "to the rear, march" right around 22 years old. It's all good. Bald is beautiful.
jb6940 lmao how old are you now?
jamn610 lol, I'm 35. I blame it on the Kevlar!
I've heard that brush is pretty rough on the hair, though. But hey, if it's not on your head, it might be easier to style and see from different angles! :)
Hahaha love that!
Half right face!!!
My dads bald. He used to have a full set of hair. Doomsday is coming fast for me.
Baldness actually comes from your mother's side, so think your mother's father. Was he bald? If no, maybe you won't go bald as fast as you may think.
That awkward moment when you hope you're adopted :D
It doesnt just come from your mothers side, its a mix of both sides and still pretty much a genetic lottery. I have baldness all throughout both sides of my family and I somehow still have all my hair at 27, although both my younger brothers started going bald at 18-19.
+Mark The Gr8 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Antti Kiviniemi how come my brother has a full head of hair and I'm totally bald! Same with some of my uncles and dad. 5 boys in his family 3 are bald and 2 are not. They all have the same parents

Super!
I use my hands to brush my hair, it works for me.
So basically a very-wide-tooth-comb.
What, Georg, you calling him fat? ;)
But same here, my slightly-messy hairstyle has not required a brush. I've been wanting to go slightly less messy, however, so perhaps I'll give a brush a shot to see if it makes it easier. Which it probably does.
It wouldn't hurt to try.
For knots it is ok to use your hand, for hair in general you have a lot of better options, you can try to brush it and then mess it.
Hello Antonio.... Great video with many helpful tips. I am having straight thin hairs. Currently I use either a pocket comb or hand to give it wavy look but after 1 or 2 hrs my hairs start falling on my forehead. Please give suggestions for this.
You look like a healthier version of Charlie Sheen in that thumbnail. 😁
Antonio,
I just wanted to tell you that because of you i know how to dress properly, Im 27 and i didnt want to dress like a teenager anymore, i started watching your channel and now im almost always wearing a sport coat dark jeans, and other things that i didnt really see attractive before. I have short thick curly wavy hair. I've simply used my fingers for lack of knowing any better. This is good and thorough information that I can use to experiment with the correct brush now.

Good tip Basha!
Do you use a hairdryer with this process or no?
Somehow; I can't imagine you having a bad hair day ... I've been using the military round comb for thirty years and its always worked better than others; but I have short to mid length coiled hair ...
Talking about materials, a wooden comb helps with dandruff and static... and if it's sandalwood, it makes it even better.. Worth a try.
For sure!
OMG JUST THE VIDEO THAT I NEEDED. I have curly hair and is such a pain to brush it, I always carry a hairbrush with me and i brush it every hour😂 thanks Antonio :)
There you go...
I just use a vented brush, it's really good to use when I style my hair
Been using the pocket comb for like 5 or maybe ten years.. and it was never made for my long wavy.
This is just great. Like I'd never known that I could be using better product so thanks a lot Antonio for researching all of this and then explain it as simplest as possible.
what a great video. awesome channel ..real style.. thank you
Thank you so much. I have never thought about what brush I am using. Thank you so much. I'm going to buy a new comb today.
Sounds good!
I thought my hair was indestructibly stiff. It really does become wavy at length!
I tried burshing my hair... I noticed I could play more with my hair than when using only a pocket comb. Thank you. Will deft buy brushes for myself.
Antonio a wide tooth comb works great for wavy and curly hair. I've read that people with wavy and curly hair should only use their fingers or a wide tooth comb and avoid fine tooth combs and brushes.
Where did you read that?
Real Men Real Style www.manlycurls.com/2011/07/the-wide-tooth-comb/
Just a simple note about the sponge
It's a real nice tool for getting those natural textured looks and works great with mid to long hair. Can use it wet or dry with wet hair or dry hair but I find it works better on wet hair with a nice curl enhance cream
It must be used on hair that’s a little damp (using either water or gel).
hey I been using the right brush...and my opinion is you sampoo and conditions with hot/worm water and rise with cold water before getting out of the shower...
I don't brush my hair, i comb it 🙄
That works too.
I just cut my hair short enough that it doesn't require further duty.
Georg F Thats not sophisticated.I allways had about 7 inches and slick it all back or do an undercut.
Ed Man I don't brush or comb my hair...I rake it
Combs made of steel work well on thick hair
You are the older brother that passes down his black book of knowledge. Thx bro
I like it :)
Well most men still with the same hair style , I'm one of them.
but after this video I'm thinking of changing my style.
and as usual so many useful info. and it's new for me.
Sounds like a plan.
Interesting I find that combs made out of horn, makes my hair less frizzy.
Your channel is really comprehensive.
I saw the title and I thought "what more could I do about brushing my hair other than what I already am." and I was pleasantly surprised by how much new info there was
I know what you mean.
These tips are very helpful my brushing my hair is an absolute nightmare.
should read the article. really helpful. shocked knowing my frequency using conditioners and shampoo is reversed. and i am using wrong hair products for my type of hair
Let me know what you think :)
I still dont know my hair type 😐
pookie the king Why not that's easy
Screenshot it when there's no product in it. Link to it here (no face required). Let's help you.
That is wierdd lmao
I have been using the enterly wrong air brush no wonder I couldn't get my hair knots out easily so I can get the right hairbrush to help get it in control and the knots out
Exactly!
Okay, I'll be honest Mr. Centeno; the thumbnail was hilarious!! By the way, I subscribed and got your book "Seven Deadly Style Sins", and following it now. The result has been really positive.
Hope you'll like the book - let me know what you think.
i use a both a comb and a brush. On the top I comb it down (un bushy it) then brush it smooth. on the sides i use just a brush, because its shorter.
Epic. While I could not get from your embedded video in the article at RMRS to CZcams directly, I took the time to indirectly navigate here to compliment your work.

The side I brush is reaceaded a lot compared to the other side ! Any tips maybe different brush or style
For what and where do I have to search to get the type of brush you mentioned in 4:28?
great guide... I would like to know however, why a paddle brush is not recommended for curly hair but an oval brush is
Great stuff Antonio. I've had the same hair brush since I was 15. Lol
Will get an upgrade now to something suitable
My hair is exactly like yours. What do you use to get your hair to look that good?
Very very useful, thank you👌👌👌
YOu're welcome!
I'm really chuffed you did a video on this. My hair is a bit of a nightmare and I've been looking for some quality advice on dealing with it. Thanks!
Glad it helped.
My hair is thick and .messy when long.a crew cut of a medium length solves my problem perfectly.
If you have curly hair use shampoo once at week and everyday use conditioner and pure organic cocinut oil
Yeaaaaah! I've been waiting for this!!!
:)
Lets go shopping 🙂👌
Sorry for straying but have you covered the untuck it shirt on your channel? Keep seeing commercials for them on TV. In case you don't know, they're basically button-down shirts. But shorter in length so they're meant to be worn untucked. A casual take on the traditional button down shirt I guess.

Very interesting!
What is the benefit beside a certain structure or look? Is there even a variation in look with a military cut?
Real Men Real Style Hey Antonio today is my wedding day. Thanks for this video. I rushed to the store to buy the brushes you recommended this morning. What a difference! Thanks :)
MGdrive I have the same haircut as you and before every shower is use a natural boar bristle military brush on my scalp to remove dead skin . and any dirt that might be there. plus it feels great!
Jorge Almazan congratulations sir
Hope you a successful married life
My hair style varies in length between 1,5 to 4-5 inches and I never use a brush. Haven't found any reason to, actually. Maybe I should give it a try sometime.
I brush my left side of my hair but it's noticeably more receaded ! Any tips
My hair is curly but I use a blow dryer to straighten it
I'm at the point in life where I don't even know if I'm combing right.....
should i put in my hair product before or after i comb? and should i push my fingers through it or wipe my palms over it? short hair like antonios, comb over split down one side like antonios
I've never used a brush in my life. I'm Scandinavian with a typically thin and straight hair. The hairs just falls naturally after i've showered.
You should try it.
I have a short kink hair---the African Afro. It takes for every to comb it, now I know why.
Use a Miitary palm brush or hair brush sponge. They require much more maintenance since they can look fuzzy and unkempt after some time. Dryness and shrinkage may also be serious problems if you’re not careful.
I find that my hair falls out when I comb it.

Another good video, Antonio. Very useful information.
Love the content. More videos. I am not very fashionable myself but these videos have helped me improve.
Thank you Pootis!
Nice, I appreciate your hard work 😃😃
0:08 i literally got that Brush on the right
Kent combs are amazing. =D
Yeah make sense to explore new stuff, I usually go natural in casual, barely gel product and fingers instead of brush but when I do try to look sharp I use a regular comb.
Exactly!
Hi Antonio, this might not be your usual topic but do you have any advice on reputable sources for women's fashion and jewelry. I would like to gain more knowledge to help buy appropriate gifts for girlfriend.
thanks for putting out great content, it's helped me a lot!
Sounds like another video to create :)
cheers, it literally came about when I was looking at Amazon prime sales, but I had no idea what I was looking at to know if I was getting a good or bad deal
I 've never used a brush before. I always liked just adjusting my hair with bare fingers. Do you think there a brush makes a difference in short hair?
Definitely! I go into more detail here: www.realmenrealstyle.com/mens-guide-using-hair-brushes/
Antonio another great topic never really considered. Thanks
Thanks Joe! What brush do you use for your hair?
A, thanks for the get back! I have been a long time for this. Excellent!

Why no bowties? I love wearing bowties could you please make a video about how to wear them well or just mention why not to wear one
mr how to make diffrent hair styles make the vedio
it was an awesome video helped me a lot
Awesome!
you forgot to include the handleless brushes which was a staple in men's grooming for decades in the latter 19th/early 20th centuries, Antonio.
Antonio i don't know what type of hair I have I can grow it up to a flat top haircut but sometimes it turns circle but it's thick and fought at times how can I know what type of hair I have ?
Very usefull chanel !!! keep going
Thank you!
You look more like Charlie Sheen than Charlie Sheen himself in the thumbnail!
Haha!
Haha I thought the same
Okay I have a problem here, I have coiled hair but I have absolutely no problem brushing my hair with standard combs, it goes through it like butter. The problem is it doesn't help me style my hair, my hair just naturally pops right back into the original shape. My problem with the video then is that the video focused on whether or not the brush would go smoothly through the hair but it really doesn't help me at all (and I'm sure many others feel the same).
Real men real style you always make videos of formal wear or formal suits for formal occasions. What about casual wear for every day things.
He's done some of those, but the thing is his mantra is that you should dress your best no matter where you are, so his casual looks are more casual +.
You are the man
Appreciate - thanks!
welcome sir!
Really informative
Thanks Abdullah.
In the queue!
Antonio i have long thick wavy hair and i want to go with slick back hairstyle.Whay shoud i do?
Hey sure does a wooden bristle brush work for straight hair just wondering ?
Very professional and very helpful)
Thank you!
sidenote: is it best to apply cologne before or after lotion? I usually apply the lotion first and then the cologne. what's your opinion/advice?
Make sure the smell compliment each other.
Real Men Real Style thanks
I’ve got long wavy hair. Which is the right hairbrush for it?
